das ist die dritte veröffentlichung vom label funk injacktion records aus berlin als kollaboration von d. instructed und froyd. eine skurrile mischung aus rudimentärem industrial samba und free jazz artefakten frei von der leber weg und säurefestem electrofunk . einigen freunden der elektronischen musik ist sicher noch der name autopilot vom label elektrolux aus frankfurt bekannt. das projekt d. instructed steht für eine freie herangehensweise an analoge instrumente bzw drums . aus den jams und der improvisation entstehen die tracks genauso wie bei froyd, über die ehemalige stadtgrenze berlins hinaus. aus der ehemaligen ost-west-wurzel entstand ein neues mutterschiff für den märkischen funk.

carthago wurde in den späten 1970er jahren als eine fusion von dalton und einer zweiten band namens marhaba band gegründet. beide bands spielten häufig in hotels und nachtclubs in tunis und sousse. musikalisch wandelte carthago auf dem musikalischen pfad von dalton und marhaba weiter, nahm jedoch disco-musik-einflüsse auf, die damals aus europa und nordamerika auch nach nordafrika durchdrangen. die ep enthält neben den raren originalen auch die unveröffentlichten instrumentals und erscheint mit einem 8-seitigen booklet sowie mp3-download-coupon.

low-down and dirty jazz goes right back to the early 1900s in storyville, after the bands had played their hot tunes in the evening for dancing couples, the musicians would head off to the after-hours joints and play a less energetic but more bluesy kind of music, enabling them and their late-night audiences to get through to the early hours of the morning without suffering total exhaustion. and nobody in new orleans laid into the blues so low down and dirty as buddy bolden, whose funky butt became a staple in the repertoire of the citys early jazz bands.

this 7 inch record released by lo fi funk records contains two skweee tracks which are going deeper in the main lines that this artist has been developing in previous productions. poly july is low tempo track with vibrant synth lines built over a minimalist rnb drums base, resulting in an hipnotic beat with pure funky flashes. moon braggin is full of huge sub bass waves, typical of the new club music and crazy, doubled tempo percussion tracks which forms a mental song, with an epic atmosphere made with floatting oriental synthesizers tunes.
