gnork and luv*jam have worked closely together for many years now. the blorp93 yellow vinyl surfaced in 2013 and was championed by the likes of rvds, bradley zero, dvs1 and wolf music !! since this time, there have been a few secret cuts nipping about here n there! some of which many folk were ‘demanding’ they were pressed! those very secret blorpers are here on one precise 12”, with ‘sexxx in space’ the biggie from gnork’s lost in budapest mixtape! luv*jam adds a few sexxxy dream nips for those dj’s who like to add another dimension… by the power of a moonbeam!

since contributing to the cocktail damore 5 years compilation, andrew cole aka luvjam has been invited few times to rock the monthly party with his deeply blissful and futuristic sounds. this is his first 12inch for the berlin imprint. the title track takes over the a side. nip to space is an abstract hypnotic slice of techno. every frequency of the 4/4 groove is stretched to the max, and it’s built to enhance the dance floor with masterful soundscaping. on the flip forest of nip is a raw tune, made by unexpected elements disappearing and re-appearing vibrantly, climaxing in a maze of fluffy acid synths. with flip to the flop the alchemist of sound design explores breakbeat of the finest uk tradition that evolves unexpectedly in a cosmically distorted afterhours delight. luv jams psychedelic perspective of sound is at its best in this ep, coupled with his unique mastery of frequency manipulation.

ra s number 1 voted live act of 2015 kink provides time out of his ridiculously busy tour schedule to provide the opening track roads. kinks remix of moderat is just about to drop on monkeytown as well as his valentine s groove 12inch for clone royal oak. kink has had huge releases on labels such as rush hour, running back (last year s cloud generator ep) and has remixed the likes of sven vath, herbert, nina kraviz and deetron.

its with great pride (and a certain sense of defiance!) that tom and i present you with the 200th freerange release. despite the best efforts of three bankrupt distributors, an arsonist (who set the sony warehouse ablaze back in 2012) and a volatile market, we retained the fire in our bellies, a stiff upper lip, and most importantly an unrelenting passion for electronic music, we soldiered on and here we are at freerange 200!

this compilation is in celebration of our berlin party cocktail damore, which we started with boris five years ago along with visual direction by pindar (goldnsour). what began as a gay monthly, focused on bringing quality music into the alternative culture of berlin, has grown to be host to a diverse range of open minded freaks, queers and more seeking a carefree atmosphere. the music we have compiled is a reflection of the variety of sounds our guests expect from the unique cocktail experience. the 3x12 inch vinyl comes in discodromo triple gatefold sleeve including poster and donwload code to redeem audio hi-res files.

wph kicks off 2015 with a new e.p. by the mighty luv jam from wales. living in a universe that is entirely his own andrew cole has cooked up two more of his ‘especially for wph’-tracks. one here at wph hq can only be flattered! ‘californian freestyler’ is the more peak time burner of the two, but ‘bmx bandito’ will not disappoint the more discerning punters out there either. on remix duty we find the main artist from our friends at uncanny valley in dresden, jacob korn. any work by jacob is always a treat and this here is no exception. flexing our digging talents we have also licensed a luv jam remix from the good people at panta rhei that was only released on limited 7”. we feel it deserved to be on a 12”, so there.

we are delighted to announce our next release from blind jacks journey and crow castle cuts daddy, luv jam. the welsh born 58% rabbit / 16.1% hedgehog / 4% squirrel / 3.7% fox / 3.4% badger / 1.6% rat / 1% deer / 1% stoat, weasel, polecat, mink has produced 2 original tracks for only our second vinyl release. blyp ep will add to luv jams already extensive catalogue with previous releases on we play house recordings, throne of blood, tsuba records, phonica white and lany recordings and collaborations with dynamodyse, matomic and gnork. luv jam called upon the blind jacks journey and bokhari records regular, gnork to remix anti tracksuit party and vernon from glasgow imprint dixon avenue basement jams to mix >over draught facility<. a solid 4 track ep of which we are extremely proud of.

here is what we know about luv*jam: known to his mum as andrew cole, he is a house producer and dj from wrexham, north wales. enigmatic though he is, luv*jam has revealed more than enough personality between wax grooves. his generous string of white-hot releases on such labels as we play house, phonica, skylax, lany recordings, and his own crow castle cuts do more than enough talking. that sterling track record continues with his throne of blood debut.

in the 18 months since his brilliant debut release for we play house, luv jam has been steadily building his profile with a number of releases, and now he returns on vibrations with his first full ep of material since that auspicious first record. the eps a-side is a typically lush foray into stripped back, slo-mo house, with opener tough future utilizing little more than a 303 bassline and 909 kick to slowly build up to its raindrop crescendo, and >rubber band< employing a number a dreamy synths atop its tense, gurgling bass. the pace picks up on the b-side with >last floor hotel (mega mix)< upping the tempo and going into full on acid mode, with its furious pace accented with frenetic cowbell hits and industrial textures. the ep closes with >elastic band< a deeper excursion into jacking house, characterized by its flurry of handclaps, weighed up by its rubbery bassline.

luv jam, maxim lany, katorski, scott ferguson are the peeps doing good here! lany records with its 2nd release! on the a-side warm vocal house with a jazzy vibe. on the flip deep, darker, menacing dancefloor grooves! just like the first lany this one will be a steady choice for many!

luv jam - better known as andy cole - made his name through outings on we play house and lany recordings, and >mature oak< finds him in fine form, an epic, atmospheric track poised on a bed of analog synths and warm pads, driven by galloping drum mechanics that gradually give way to its climax, an irresistibly squelchy acid bassline that marks it as one of coles most memorable productions to date. on the flipside we get treated to cottams first ever remix. cottam has made an impeccable name for himself, with his signature colourful series of untitled 12s and a contribution to the story imprint. true to his roots, cottams re-rub of >mature oak< is a slo-mo, motorik chugger that makes excellent use of the originals acid line while taking the whole track a step further. its a proper heads down affair that begs for a soundsystem loud enough to do it justice. limited vinyl pressing of 444 copies – hand stamped and numbered. special artwork by pedro carvalho de almeida.

luv jam has the honour of being the first signing to the wph roster that survived the ongoing chaotic process of demo submissions via myspace or e-mail. it has to be said that luv jam was at the end of his wph wits after several friendly but stern denials by label boss red d. one last ditch 4am attempt proved that tenacity and patience are always rewarded, black beauty was right on the wph money and off we went.
