d&c (the cyclist remix) - closing track d&c from faltydl’s last album ‘heaven is for quitters’ gets the full frontal workout from the cyclist who turns the ambient album closer into a powerful stomping bass heavy remix. the shuffle reminds of old school faltydl productions with added up to date production techniques. heavy. frigid air (o’flynn remix) - o’flynn lends his gentle touch reminiscent of floating points with a bubbly beautiful emotional workout of frigid air, falty’s album collaboration with mike paradinas. neeloon (palms trax remix) - dekmantel stalwart palms trax plays gentle and dance floor friendly with this suburb clean remix of neeloon, a sci-fi escape soundtrack. hands in the air, the four four bounce is festival ready. drugs feat rosie lowe (kaidi tatham remix) - kaiti tatham has been a long time influence on faltydl. this jazzy fluid musical remix with pin point accurate drums and flowing rhodes plays against the raspy beautiful vocals from rosie lowe. for the come down crew.
the second installment in faltydl’s edit series. vinyl only. follow up to umi says edit. 2 choice cuts, river girl flips a jets classic while do you box? is an original falty production that only existed on dubplate until now. never to be repressed, limited vinyl goodness. last one went quick!

when falty dl released >love is a liability<, his 2009 debut lp on planet mu, it was notionally tied to dubstep, despite not having that obvious a connection to the sound at the time. a combination of irregular but still funky drums, deep bass, and light musical surfaces, it stood out and was recognised for its distinctiveness - this was a native new yorker interpreting his love of british dance music from a unique angle.
after spending 2010 honing his craft, working on singles for several labels, and remixes for the likes of the xx, mount kimbie and anthony shakir, falty dl, born drew lustman, pulls his skills and experience together for this stunning new lp. falty dls soundworld has evolved in giant steps on >you stand uncertain<, from the very beginning the listener is plunged into his new focus on layered dusty atmospheres. opener >gospel of opal< is also his first work with a vocalist, in this case anneka.
its time for the second round of our 50 weapons 10inch series. while volume 1 featured a french/english combination with humanleft and benjamin damage on 50 weapons 5, number 7 is an all american outfit. the a-side offers instrumental hip hop by la based elan (recently featured on modeselektion vol. 01 with his >pussy posse< track) and the b-side features ny based garage/dubstep/uk funky champion and planet mu artist falty dl. style clash galore!
rush hour kicks of its direct current series with nyc based falty dl. this series is about today’s electronic music in all shapes by new and upcoming producers. falty dl is known for his releases on planet mu and ramp. his sounds shifts somewhere between hip hop, funk, dubstep, house and techno. its this cross breeding that gives falty dl his signature sound. with >all in the place< he delivers one of his best releases to date. four tracks that sound classic, yet futuristic at the same time. essential ep!
faltydl returns to ramp after the painfully deep to london, and his acclaimed love is a liability album on some other label earlier this year, with a new 12inch of sleazy 2step vibes. party gets things moving with dls most organic production to date, resonating in your brain like the jaded memory of an uncomfortable lap dance from an impromptu trip to the future. flip the wax for the warm fuzzy minimal garage vibes of alpafun, a tune that mr. lustman hates so much, he never wanted it to see the light of day. just to spite the cocky new yorker, we are putting it out...
bravery contrasts quite dramatically with his debut, especially since these eight tracks are brand new, recorded as recently as three months ago. the album works at different tempos but still impresses with falty dls featherweight combinations of melodic synths, glitzy garage samples and complex programmed beats and effects.
nice price deal !!! first to step up to the challenge is boxcutter. belfasts barry lynn has an impressive discography including four albums on planet mu as well as releases on his own kinnego records and the hotflush label. remixed during the period of writing that led to his new release arecibo message, it has the same lush sound as that album.
nyc resident faltydl mashes garage, hip hop & idm together until they form a thick, silky paste and spatulas it into your ears. garage has travelled back to new york city, and its more fucked up than ever. nyg starts here. dj support comes from mary anne hobbs, benji b, martyn, kode 9, oneman, zomby, blackdown, brackles.
