the sound of one of the most recognisable metalheadz anthems makes up the 2nd part of our 25 years series. asylum aka l double s da base ii dark was originally released in 1995 and retains its status as a certified classic, still appearing in sets almost 3 decades later. remastered for this mammoth project the single is accompanied by a stealth remix on the b side, a remix that grew into stealth s own personal homage to the metalheadz sound. the outcome is a ravenous twist constructed entirely with the late night dancefloor in mind

after an essential hiatus, 12 inches deep returns with a brand new project. introducing hot dime recordings, house and garage based on a different set of metrics, uk garage. the brainchild of 12id label founder, urbanite, and none other than uk garage legend, karl tuff enuff- brown, of tuff jam fame, hot dime recordings launches an all new, us based uk garage platform, with 2tuf4u vol. 1, a massive compilation hand selected from karls prolific vault of works and collaborations. turn to the a side for a joint effort between karl brown, and fellow ledge, jeremy sylvester, as -tuff asylu with an original, and individual hot mixes. flip to the opposite side for another pair of special hot mixes, this time of the anthill mobs when i think of you, followed by a swinging donk mix from the unmistakable, dem2, to round out the volume. one not to be missed.

persistence is back with the third release, a new split ep with manuel di martino and the italian duo asylum with remixes by johannes volk and jeff rushin. the a side contains the original track of manuel di martino called necessary phase, engaging groove and hypnotic synth are the right adjectives to describe this track. volk,s remix is inspired to the new york techno scene with stomp drum, raw groove and marked synth. side b open with substance by asylum, this track contains dark and closed sounds, a real trip into shadows. jeff rushin revisits this creating a very functional tool, and especially the right mix of dark and dancefloor s sounds.

the hacker rebuilds blacksmith in his vintage and industrial spirit between electro, acid and techno, while the lunatic asylum rework of misercordia will catch you up in the dark room of dance, with delicious breaks and metallic spirals melodies added to this rave anthem. flipside, maxime dangles is turning misericordia in a muscular but melodic late night techno assault with dark vocals and his typical synths and chords, while torgull’s version steps up the darkness with a techno hardcore rework, raw, heavily haunted by vocals, textured and sensory.

sounds benefit returns with its third installment, and welcomes for their first vinyl ep the french duo indeëd, based in bordeaux. tib z and wimd, who make the team, delivered two powerful weapons, with an additionnal remix from one of our favorite artist - the greekest xdb. things starts on the a side with asylüm, a super strong and driving jam processed into old tape recorder, which gives to the atmosphere an unique texture and unsuspected energy. xdb s reinterpretation begins much smoother than the original track, but quickly the trademark style of metrolux s boss takes over, and brings the heat with his typical military groove. on the flip, stellär takes the listener on a different journey, warm and intense at the same time. thanks to driving rhythm sections and rolling sub bass, this classy track completes perfectly the package, for a solid winter record.

asylum ep (f101) is the first hypnotic trip into acoustic oscillations from f1rstrecords.
on the a-side, mesmerized arps, rolling bleeps, screaming strings, and 909 are the main units of asylum 1 & apsis.
on the flip side, asylum 2 explores percussive orbital elements emphasized by dissonant pads while baryon brings low dub and atmospherical resonnances.
