left hand path is an ode to the other, the outside, the odd and uncanny, a window to the wilds of theoutdoors from the crushing claustrophobia of the rat race. musically, the new aspects album deftly treads the light beam divide of old and new - at times dusty-fingered and familiar, yet finding moments of un-quantized lo-fi sci-fi - not far from l.a.s low end theory sound buffet.

on the flip, data takes us back ten years ago, with the techie curfew. a sly sample invoking the terror of a war torn citys attempt to enact a curfew sits perfectly before this one truly takes off. this is another cut that doesnt try to be too much, just establishes a serious vibe and works very well in the mix. sound artillery what a perfect name for this label. weapons for mass consumption, tools for the audio soundclash, tracks that hurt you. and make you come back for more!

skeleton recordings are proud to announce the release of the skeleton xxv project to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the label which originally launched in 1992. this is a five part collectors edition to celebrate 25 years of skeleton recordings. volumes 01 to 04 sleeve artwork when put together will form a big piece of artwork of the revamped original skeleton recordings logo that will look good on any wall. volume 05 will be a picture disc. the full digital album will only become available once all five volumes have been released. the project has taken just over 12 months to put together and is definitely something for the collectors. it has been generating quite a buzz within the underground circuit the closer it gets to release date and has been getting some really good support from the likes of bailey, storm and ray keith to name a few.

around was the first song from same language different worlds that everybody heard. tim burgess had sent a home made cd-r to lauren laverne as soon as the record was completed and she texted asking if a song could be featured on the 6music show that morning. peter gordon and tim had spent the precious few months crafting the album in new york, norfolk & manchester - tim sent the song to pete kember and proclaimed the resultant remix as “one of the best tracks i ve ever had the pleasure of being involved with”.
with additional remixes by nik void, david cunningham and jd twitch (optimo), it’s a perfect vinyl release to celebrate the tenth rsd.

after the excellent received >deep, raw and real< part 1 and 2 (with the likes of motor city drum ensemble, stl and anton zap) its now time for more - part 3 and 4 are coming! we invited again some hot producers for some deep, raw and real tunes and the result is a fine mixture of contemporary global house music. part 3 features lukatron, the new project by the classic man luke solomon (as already heard on his full ep, quintessentials 17) and japanese wizard radiq, whos in peoples mind since his philpot release. the flipside offers the mighty cottam, famous for his self titled >cottam< releases plus up and coming deymare from finland. watch out for him and his releases on quintessentials, kindasoul and others.

following contributions by dj deep and dj hell, tresor records are proud to present the third instalment in their kern mix-series, this time headed by berlin based producer objekt, his first release following his 2014 debut album flatland for pan. in keeping with the series mission of showcasing a more personal approach to mixing hertz describes his process as such, kern vol. 3 is made up of tracks that i know i will play and love for years to come. some of these records have been in my bag for years others are almost as new to me as they are to you. a handful are by lesser known artists whom i admire and who i think deserve wider recognition. planned, recorded, embellished, reworked, tweaked and chiselled away at over a period of 6 months, the mix was gradually carved out in a way that makes use of new and old techniques alike, presenting itself primarily as a dj mix but settling in a sweet spot between live recording and studio trickery. the tracklist spans styles, decades and bpms in an attempt to craft a mix thats unpredictable and compelling in equal measure Ð one that draws from the more adventurous corners of my club sets, but above all, one thats a pleasure to listen to.
