multi-talent joyce muniz is definitely one to look out for. initially starting her career as a vocalist, she now took over the global house music scene within no time as a deejay and producer as well. exhibiting her talent with previous releases, its not surprising that shes on the roster of prestigous labels such as exploited records and 20/20 vision recordings. next year she will release her single toxic people on international deejay gigolo records featuring the singer, songwriter and producer demetr1us. toxic people is a vibrant and raw sounding electro house cut featuring grimy synths and vocals, that lend the track a cold and distant atmosphere. the artwork for toxic people was created by leipzig-based artist silvia trost, whose forth lies in oil and acrylic paintings. she now frequently collaborates with glitch art artists and loves to mix materials and techniques, both analogue and digital. the b-side dreamz is another great production by joyce muniz. the playful groove and eclectic ambient makes it a cool package.

mr. statik with previous contributions from joe claussell, move d, mr. ties, reagenz, discrete circuit and their very own away soundsystem, the berlin label away achieved a great deal of attention since its first release back in 2015. after having played at their infamous party series before, the greek all-rounder mr. statik now also debuts as a producer on away. as emphasized with releases on such labels as bpitch control, amam, or rotary cocktail, the resident of athens club six d.o.g.s draws inspiration from pop culture like science-fiction movies as well as comic books, also reflected in his rogue cherub ep. info rogue cherub ep its an open secret that mr. statik has a strong penchant for working with vocalists, and the title track is no different. starting off with an ingenious medley assembled through samples, rhythmic elements, and a funk-infused bass-line, rogue cherub ep highlights the greeks unordinary approach on house music. despite the partly broken, partly playful vibe its dave ajus distinctive voice holding everything together in a serene fashion. no less than the acknowledged master matthew herbert himself scales the hybrid down, attaching just the right disco-house touches to create yet another dance floor gem. morning star on the flipside tops off aways fifth catalogue number by a well-crafted techno-meets-dub workout unfolding mr. statiks versatile core strengths as a producer.

the om 15 year anniversary compilation is chok full of tasty treats. one of our favorites is this >the latest< by sygaire & defcon featuring capitol a. sygaire (sonar kollektiv, raw fusion) is the the moniker of roskow kretschmann, who has quite the resume of contributions to modern dance music culture. starting with his role as member of jazzanova crew, to his later offerings as kosma, forum, and integra (compost, infracom!), roskow is obviously a man on a mission to spread incredible music throughout the world. here he is with partner defcon (raw fusion, melting pot), the alias of one philipp wohlleben. as innocent as that name might sound, do not be fooled. defcon stands for defense condition 5, and dj defcon brings the heat like a missile in the night. together these two have come with what clearly translates as a respectful bow to the old skool days, presented in true double 12 inch extended mix fashion, and complete with vocals from none other than capitol a.

the chart buster martin solveig was glad when his roman friend and colleague lorenzo rumi called upon him to return to the roots of house music, starting from the early, glorious chicago scenario and its immediate and infectious groove. so far away came to life, as an impulse with only 2 days of hectic studio session and a few liters of coffee. the guys worked on a stricltly old school basis, then added a full vocal and new elements to bring the fine charme of todays house, turning so far away in a contemporary composition rich of surprises and thrilling breaks. the performance of australian soul singer rachel claudio gives a touch of attitude with passionates and unforgettable vocals. definitely another epic stone in the b2f wall!
