r.i.o. begrüßt pieter kock aka dj peacock, eine der führenden seelen hinter dem berliner bar/micro club o tannenbaum. musikalisch aktiv seit 1986 als sänger, gitarrist, schlagzeuger und geräuschemacher, veröffentlichte peter bereits eine reihe von alben unter verschiedenen pseudonymen wie billie and ballie, the hitmachine und taladu. seit den frühen 1990er jahren erzählt er als dj eindringliche klanggeschichten und spielt eine breite palette von stilen - von kosmischem und leftfield-techno bis hin zu tape-experimenten, sound-art, wave, world, jazz, punk, industrial und all der schrägen popmusik.

musik mit samples von lateinamerikanischen schallplatten mit 78 u / min. eine faszinierende mischung aus alt und neu, die die seele der musik und der menschen auf dem kontinent mitnimmt, um einen zeitlosen raum frei fließender klänge und strukturen zu schaffen. limited edition, veröffentlicht von kazemat records exklusiv auf vinyl. enthält ein fotobuch und ein cover des künstlers pieter bijwaard. vinkepeezer (ivo bol) baut seine tracks auf, indem er aus vorhandenen materialien neue kompositionen erstellt, die von der geschichte der bandmusik und des samplings inspiriert sind. für sein letztes album all kinds verwendete er samples aus der bemerkenswerten sammlung lateinamerikanischer schallplatten mit 78 u / min, die klm-kapitän lucas de ruyter van steveninck während seiner reisen von den 1950er bis in die 1980er jahre gesammelt hatte. für vinkepeezer sind alle geräusche etwas besonderes: das summen des kühlschranks oder das geräusch der schallplatte kurz vor beginn des songs. er spielt seine musik mit körper und geist, um diese geräusche mit lichtsensoren, berührungen, gesten oder gehirnwellen zu manipulieren. improvisation, live mixing und glückliche unfälle sind wichtige bestandteile seiner frei fließenden, organisch strukturierten musik.

rumours believes that the only way to harmony is by allowing yourself to be extreme in every way. after listening to megamix for the first time, the origin of the name reveals itself after every track you hear. rumours are hannah vandenbussche and jonas boermans (both active at monami), birds-singer pieter-jan cools and brutus drummer stefanie mannaerts. they joined forces a few years ago to produce something they call sjamaanhop. a self-invented term that best can be defined as an enchanting combination of techno and trip hop. it’s as if the knife and crystal castles suddenly found the ideal pool partners in four tet and nosaj thing. where rumours is known for their dark, fast paced and heartfelt live sets, they show they ve got more to them in their first studio album. influences from every corner creep into the songs, which makes it a quiet unusual, but balanced album. a mishmash of melancholy (every cry for help needs a saving anthem), a certain tint of sadness and that one urgent place in our hearts that we call desire. for the visual aspect of the album, the spanish party island ibiza was an obvious choice for the band. the destination was not only a refuge, it was a place where hope and grief can exist together.
