das forgemasters-trio: winston hazel, sean maher und rob gordon wurden erstmals mit ihrem mittlerweile legendären track with no name gefeiert und haben als erste veröffentlichung auf warp records (wap1) prestige. skies over sheffield wartet jedoch seit seiner konzeption in den frühen 90er jahren in den startlöchern. fast zwei jahrzehnte lang war die sonne über der strecke untergegangen, die in einer alten aufnahme von winston hazels sheffield community radio aus dem jahr 1992 eingebettet war. daher sind wir sehr stolz darauf, die lang erwartete morgendämmerung von skies over sheffield auf seven hills records anzukündigen.

this is a reissue of a short-lived and obscure uk dance music label. a compilation of tracks featured on releases across 3 ep’s between 1991 and 1993 incorporating recently emergent dub techno and progressive acid house sounds. nation of noise was conceived in the early 90 s, following a meeting of minds between the producer and ambient soho mainstay django, and vocalist jon martin (of pizzaman fame) at the legendary soho institution: the brain. plate 1 is a fully remastered reissue of the first nation of noise record - xes noiz, featuring 4 locked grooves. plate 2 takes two tracks off both the lockgroove and super bubble ep s. one side is smooth, after-hours deep house whilst the other reaches for two progressive, acid cuts. fully remastered.
