a brand new original soundtrack from nicolas godin (one half of the french iconic duo air) which he composed for the 2nd season of au service de la france (in english a very secret service), a tv series produced by arte following the adventures of different spies during the 60s and which will be released on netflix

arranged by godin, taurelle the original trakc was written by georg christian lehms, composed by bach and adapted from bach cantata widerstehe doch der sünde bwv 54. here bach’s church cantata for solo voice meets languid gainsbourg & birkin, albeit in german, with exquisite choir and strings. nicolas godin says i wanted songs on contrepoint, to act like poles that hold up a tent. this piece starts with a very strange chord, which was avant garde for its day. bach’s scores are outside any rules, which i wanted to exploit. i also wanted the lyric in german because no one expects german to sound sexy and cool. the main singer is gordon tracks. the other voice is dorothée de koon, a friend of a french artist i know - they both have german blood.

debuet des synthie-pop-duos um den air-musiker jean-benoit dunckel. mit seinem kollegen nicolas godin steht jean-benoit dunckel seit mitte der 90er-jahre dem wohl erfolgreichsten franzoesischen popexport vor: air. fźr das projekt tomorrow s world tat sich dunckel mit der aus london stammenden sŠngerin und musikerin lou hayter (the new sins) zusammen. fźr das selbst betitelte debźtalbum schrieben beide gemeinsam die musik. die aufnahmen begannen 2010 in paris, nachdem duncker die englaenderin das erste mal gehoert und sofort zu sich eingeladen hatte.
