continuing to operate on the very outer fringes of the techno and electronica genre, a sagittariun returns this autumn with a new release on elastic dreams. following on from 2013s acclaimed dream ritual album and the 2014 single the jupiter chronicles ep, the one born under the ninth sign offers up more cosmic techno and astral excursions on the wish you were there ep. from the searing techno of loopholes to the heavy break and subaquatic melodies of the lathe of heaven to the wide-eyed and emotive closer of blakes vision, another trio of versatile tracks from the archer here.

adam x was very much deep in it in 92: 23 years in the record-releasing game and counting to be exact. could be longer, as thats just going by his discography. founder of sonic groove, also known as traversable wormhole & amdx-71. its enough to know that the man is still seriously killing it, and this is absolutely no exception: acidic, metallic, raw and driving techno for the true heads.

for the first release in 2010 electric minds present ly sander & michael j collins. with ly residing in geneva and michael in denver, it was soundcloud that brought the pair together through an appreciation of each others productions. independently both producers have a solid background in music. electric minds welcome both producers and look forward to the impact their ep will have on the ever changing house music community. all three tracks are mood inspiring productions, subtle and simple in places they will appeal to those that like their music deep and with a touch of soul.

a temporary sabbatical from gigs was taken and the band wrote material for where were you when it happened in new orleans midtown district, where their rawboned compositions resembled the katrina-pummeled surroundings. with their girlfriends with them in as close to a stableenvironment as they d been in months, they were able to tap a darker, more personal side in songs like as noise, and hunt you down, with its mournful, organ drenched air belying monotonixs typical good time charlie posturing, while fulfilling the albums need for a climactic, balladic moment. where were you when it happened? finds monotonix visiting a greater diversity of places within their sound while still retaining their minimal appeal. mostly though, where were you when it happened works up a sweat with raw rock and roll, acid guitar licks and riffs, screaming choruses and, in general, the wildness of monotonix in a way that makes for repeated album listening (and pummelling). where most bands refine their production sound as they go forward, monotonix have reverse refined themselves, playing dirtier and more energetic to capture the lightning they are known for.
