about a year after the release of his night drips ep (lln008) on sister label lumièreslanuit, keumel is back with sustain strain , confirming his taste for deep, rousing and melodic music, however, this time, with a on the a-side, space is her place unveils intriguing and asynchronous beats, whereas heavy body presents elastic sounds on a groovy electro beat with a naive twist.
on the b-side, shattered decay distinguishes itself with its melancholic melody and dubby bassline that twists your brain and your body, while unheard territory appears as an epic and orchestral track to close this melodic musical journey.

bleu nuit (bn) is glad to introduce to you to its second release red light city (bn02) by nice-based french duo gabardines. rising french djs from the south of france, gabardines is composed by olivier aka ghini-b and régis aka redj. if ghini-b and redj already have a couple of vinyl-only releases to their respective solo alias, gabardines is about to release his first ep under this name. indeed, in 2017, gabardines brought out sweat things ep on simple things records via bandcamp as well as a remix of lady b s liaisons on their own imprint swipe white limited a couple of years before. red light city ep follows the lead or rather, the musical line, introduced by both the label and gabardines predecessor flavio folco (bn01). as can be listened from all three tracks, gabardines are sticking to these break and gangster beats, offering a balanced release with some warmup (a1), peak-time (a2) and closing/after spirit (b1).

beware, discomatin is back. in 2018, the parisian crew of diggers and dj’s originally known for their edits goes official with fully licensed and remastered reissues. for this new adventure, they chose an incredible in-demand french boogie ep from diva, an eighties funk band from bordeaux. diva only released one ep with la nuit, a sentimental, almost poetic boogie banger with great synth, guitar and vocal parts. the track could honestly have been a radio hit in the eighties with some real promotion. today, it’s still time to make it right and it is already an anthem in the french underground disco scene. originally on the b side of the 1985 original release on cactus, la nuit is here available with its two different versions (12inch and 7inch mix) and comes also with prise au piege, a more synth-pop influenced funk track which gave its name to the original release. the band was formed by gabrielle andriampanana, alex louisor and olivier renoir. before diva, these last two already played together in the local new-wave band bolton which was one of the first of the area to use synthetisers. even if they had a small recognition at the time, the original release stood quite underground. thanks to discomatin, its now available to the real connoisseurs and still with the fantastic illustrations of french artist camille de cussac on the back cover.

the new year marks a time of change, fresh starts and new beginnings and 2017 will see the launch of a brand new vinyl series from 20/20 vision. up first on the series we welcome portuguese native marco rodriguez, aka photonz. he first caught our ear with his early output on cult london imprint dissident, and then went on to release with tastemaker labels crème organization & hot haus. negative cities pt.1 is filled with the deep, rich & fat analog sounds that photonz has become renowned for. whether it’s intergalactic acid bangers like astral acid, the skipping hi-hats and wonky shuffle of death drive, or the driving main room techno of somewhere i read, theres enough ammunition here to satisfy any house and techno connoisseur. negative cities pt.1 is out 13th february on 20/20 vision. limited to 300 copies.

bleu nuit (bn) is glad to introduce you to its first release a night on planet earth (bn01) by barcelona-based italian artist flavio folco. known for his musical compositions on his late imprint fresh food (napoli), among others, flavio folco has also made a name for himself as a dj with multiple appearances alongside his friend joseph capriati. whereas a night on planet earth could have seen the light of the day in 2015, when lumièreslanuit (lln) got the demo through a friend, it s finally two years later that the four-tracks ep is finding his place on bleu nuit, and not just any as it is kicking this new project off and paving the way for other break & gangster beats.
