splatter is a producer from merida in mexico, with huge reconition in central america and europe. his style is deep and sinister inspired by the world surrounding him. an abstract experience, mixed with unusual non-linea structure base. mike walls productions sound like the perfect fusion of techno and groovy house. creating his own style of techno is the reason he is doing fantastic live sets as well including all the different sound structures, glitches, bleeps and basses he s interested in and let him feel balanced. this release is inspired by splatters summer holiday in copenhagen the summer of 2010. the release features deep and exotic basslines wrapped with glitches, funky noises, and hypnotic drones. a solid composition for the after hour specials.

chris mitchell presents to us two potent tracks for his debut release on plan b recordings. label mates, dakini9 & amir alexander give us their take with remixes of each track. the a side track >lonely nights< has a deep house edge which can work well on on any dance floor. the b side >worker ants< track is a bit more spacey with robotic glitches & gritty synths.

the first release will be with the new kid in town: ghost mutt. this young producer from brighton (uk) is linked as resident artist to the people of donky pitch with other residents like boss kite and slugabed. his sound can be, if we try to genre-ize it, defined as a mash-up of hiphop beats mixed with dubstep, covered with glitches, funky tweaks, purple flares and dirty basses. he has been sharing line-ups with tokimonsta, slugabed, blue daisy, boss kite, coco bryce and bass clef.

smaul recordings should not be suggestive of being fed by productions of acid pauli, only. however, creative times need being used and martin gretschmann - aka console - member of the notwist - alias acid pauli has collected lots of material whilst the scarce time left last year. on smaul 07 he follows his self-weaved red thread of the year. acid pauli confides more & more in a certain house rhythm paired with these melancholic layered sound-synthesis, already well known by him. astonishing things emerge out of acid paulis musical waves, sometimes even scientially croon quite a bit. nymbiotic (a) comes relaxed but holds a great melody up in the sleeve - seasonly peppered. symbiotic (b) rests bit on minimal house, but acid pauli never relied on that genre. thus, this track does not remain as it seems after three minutes. glitches and sounds break it up to evolve a new symbiosis. symbiotic becomes more timeless in spite of siren-climax peaks and an obsessive string chorus fading in the end.

flint kids are london based electronic music duo dave smith & daniel nolan. they began writing together in 2000 on an akai mpc 2000, s600, korg trinity and 303. years later, after having brought laptops, logic, ableton and other electronic goodies, it became clear that the sounds they were hearing in their heads were possible to recreate. their passion for so many different styles of music saved them from ever being pigeonholed, glitches & bleeps fuse with organic matter fired from a techno blunderbuss to create a pool of binary sputum that finds no home in any one genre. what may begin as a well earned candlelit soak in the tub of ambiance can quickly drain away as they pull the plug, leaving the listener cascading down a dank, jagged hole with only a rung less ladder made of plasticine.... not for the faint hearted!

catchy minimal.. jatoa002 is the second release from the danish label jatounit. binar sendentar is a mellow straight forward track smothered in glitches and industrial mishaps. accompanied by a female voice - a constant reminder that it is all numbers. beautiful staircase is an orgy of pretzel popping, toy car bashing and wrench crashing glitchy pads. accompanied by harmonica stabs. suddenly a trancy pad surrounds you and lifts you up and literately drops you in a hole of obscurity and insane analog bastardism.

more dark and moody madness from matt b. bushwacka’s stunning production mastery really shines through here as two versions, each with a slightly different twist take effect. the a side, >every dog has its day< shuns the current trends and stands alone like a lonely child at playtime. heavy hammer blow bass and resonating glitches that will stand the test of time. the drum mix takes you on a different tour of the dancefloor and drops you right in front of the dj booth.

the third release on true to form recordings comes from parisian producer mikael weill. here mikael starts off with the title track >silmarions<, which glitches and grooves with a warm kick, plenty of inviting keys and stabs programmed into mix

busted speaker brew is the second installation by the afternoon coffee boys on clink recordings. this new minimal rocker walks the fine line between minimal and techno with acb’s signature drum programming and short decay instrumentation. the afternoon coffee boys, aka tim xavier and tony rohr, released their debut collaborative release on clink001 last year with one of the bigger eps of 2005: dark blend. their follow-up ep on cocoon, >glitches brew<, was released at the beginning of this year and was a huge success. their music has been praised by top artists such as adam beyer, richie hawtin, sven väth and marco carola, and they show promise as one of the new leading duos of 2006. this ep is an excellent release as acb continues to push the minimal edge with their techno influences by keeping the tracks rhythmic and driving while maintaining the slow, deep and funky pace that djs are currently pursuing in their sets

a decade has passed since tobias freund and max loderbauer aka non standard institute (nsi) released their enigmatic collection of non-standards. playing with mystery is the name of the game here as well. the new cd, entitled with the code 5863, is the result of collecting creative moments over years and stringing together twenty short pieces that jointly amount to almost an hour of playtime.

with a scraggle of noise and feedback zone beginning 26000, ilpo vaeisaenen and dirk dresselhaus continue their angel duo with a work that inhabits its own zone of cryptic anger and contemplation. if anything, a sense of structure destroyed has been the hallmark of both vaeisaenen and mika vainios work away from pan sonic, but 26000 in particular - with angel added and abetted by performers such as oren ambarchi and b.j. nilsen - introduces a sense of unspoken story to the proceedings, a soundtrack to a sci-fi film that emphasizes cosmic horror by implication. the slow roil that -before the rush- settles into, a combination throb and mechanistic growl, both parallels and contrasts the concluding -paradigm shift,- the subtlest of bass rhythms anchoring overlaid drone murk and screeches of noise shaped and controlled like an event horizon reached and held. central piece -dark matter leak- sounds it, deep echoes and distant footsteps and other outer space haunted house noises interspersed with up-front bursts of percussion rattlings and glitches, a robot companion in space rapidly going on the fritz. the overlaid clatter of -in- and similarly frenetic mess of -out- frame said dead center equally excellently.

when dial records started in 2000 with a bunch of friends highly inspired by deep house, detroit techno and cologne lovetunes, nobody of them ever thought about running a decent record label. the only concept david lieske, peter kersten and paul kominek had in their mind was never to be part of any proper record business, never to be controlled by any rule or trend, always to let the record label be a part of their love for music and arts. even the dial family was never intended growing that big, almost 70 percent of the artists on the first compilation are the same on >2010<, the history starting from a small label based in hamburg turned out climbing a high mountain. touching cities like detroit, tokyo, paris, berlin, buenos aires, releasing music like contemporary classic, drones and glitches, ambient, guitar pop, singer songwriter, deep house, minimal techno, discovering arts of protagonists such as michaela meise, sergej jensen, dirk stewen, hanna schwarz, anna mšller, cosima von bonin, all this fills a decade of dial records. but still the main part is the music and as we hold the 2010 compilation in our hands and listen to the tunes of phantom ghost, isolŽe, pantha du prince, carsten jost, john roberts, efdemin, lawrence, christian naujoks, dominique, rndm, pigon, kassian- we still have this enthusiastic feeling that wants to tell us: this is only the beginning
