the result of nine months locked up with musicians stephane fedele (bass), thomas stadnicki (guitars), lukas melville (drums) and a series of live shows in belgium, second album ‘drape’ fuses the electronic with an occasionally heavy rock feel and outstanding lyrics, all topped off with a french-belgian-tinged vocal and lyrical topicality. music-wise it spans a breadth of influences from the interzone between post-punk, indie pop, psych & noise while geoffroy mugwump lays down conscious, parlando-style, lyrics over nine songs ‘soundtracking our torments in the age of laissez-faire and aestheticisation’.

eight years after moon in libra (sccd/lp 407), the new s-tone inc.s onda consolidates the partnership between stefano tirone and his longtime friend and collaborator tomaz di cunto aka toco, who co-wrote 8 of the 10 album tracks. a strongly heartfelt black rio-inspired effort, ranging from groovy brazilian soul-funk to mellow soulful chill moments, featuring historical (laura fedele, manuela ravaglioli) and new (barro, qinho, the 4maré quartet) contributes on vocals, for a very personal and original result.

italian trio agents of time make their ellum debut with a weighty, two track release. magma shares remnants of label head maceo plexs own formidable style, with compelling synths, punchy claps and a rumbling bassline. obsidian is finally seeing a release after causing heat from fur coat’s feature in their bbc essential mix a few months ago. heady, powerful, stirring, expertly crafted, adjectives that are regularly used for ellum releases and agents of time have confidently followed their predecessor’s footsteps. agents of time are andrea di ceglie, fedele ladisa and luigi tutolo. making music together since july 2013, they have clocked up an album on stem records and the massive polina ep on correspondent. their supporters include dixon, agoria and tiga, and their sound has been brought to over 20 countries through a live platform with analogic instruments.

correspondants 28th release, polina, delivers another brooding, evocative ep for the label, this time from the agents of time polyhedron: a fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality. the italian trio of andrea di ceglie, fedele ladisa, and luigi tutolo came together in the summer of 2013, and their inaugural album was released via stem records in january of the following year. the group uses both analog and digital equipment to refine their unique amalgam of progressive, techno, and ambient music.
