hypnotizing nostalgia that dictates the dance floor. with previous releases on rythm section, echovolt and les yeux orange, earth trax & newborn jr. are unapologetically consistent in building a legacy. the maze ep is the fourth collective delivery of the duo, sent off into the world by dopeness galore. while hypnotizing synths dictate the dance floor, it is hard to resist the balearic arrangements of new wave nostalgia. the record elevates through soothingly repetitive ambient dreamscapes, while minimalist entrancement pulls us right back into underground territory. the ep represents a side a. meant for club settings and a more ambient side b. once the vocals on a2 set the tone, we bear witness to what seems to be the true ethos of the maze ep: where theres a will, theres a way

for its latest release, weirdest dream has landed on dopeness galore for a supernova of atmospheric sounds called white worms. weirdest dream is the moniker and playground of stockholm-based galactic explorers daniel fagerström & luciano leiva. with a history of releases on rvng and permanent vacation the duo plays around in a constellation of all analog and early digital synthesizers such as the tr-909, waldorf microwave, yamaha dx7, roland juno-60 and akai mpcs. an ambient cloud of sonic surrealism, white worms is a curious exploration of the celestial sphere through echoes of patrick cowley, sensations fix and tangerine dream.

kid sublime s protégé j.a.n. drops his brand new debut 12 .amsterdam based j.a.n. got inspired by local dj’s in the amsterdam nightlife scene at early age. soon he started djing, and hooked up with fellow amsterdammer and dj/producer kid sublime, who showed him the ropes of rocking a sampler. j.a.n. quickly caught the virus and invested in his own digital equipment, started digging for samples, and thereby widening his musical spectrum.

three years after his debut album basement soul kid returns in september 2008 with his darkest release to date. expect hip hop, sublime style, with guest appearances by camp lo, frank n dank, illa j, defari among others. until then, lets warm things up with this twelve! on the title track kid finds himself in his own world on a beat which was started out life as remix for the brazilian/dutch super group zuco 103. as a result - kid rhymes on the beat himself leaving you exposed to his world. the soulful pityful times appears as an (short) skit on the album while the extended cut is only available on the b side of this twelve inch. besides kid sublime this track features amsterdams finest vocal weapon, ninthe on the hook. kid sublime toured with zuco 103 and guru as a dj, and co founded the rednose distrikt collective, which he left to focus on his debut album basement soul. after that he put out records with frank n dank, les deal, wouda and did remixes for the likes of harry swinger, rob scott, recloose, j davey...

warsaw based duo private press join rekids special projects this july with four deep techno cuts entitled ‘zero sum ep’. hailing from poland, adam brocki and jan wóycicki make up private press – a project that’s released sought after cuts on labels like technosoul and indigo aera. the duo is also known by the name raw feelings, however many will be familiar with brocki’s newborn jr. alias, which has dropped releases on rhythm section, echovolt, dopeness galore and les yeux orange. ‘miracle man sets the tone with delayed resonant synths accompanied by crunchy and distorted snares before ‘becomes the prime’ opts for a lo-fi sound with filtered synth blips and enigmatic vocal slices. on the flip side ‘tooms’ delivers heavily reverberated horn-like stabs, modulated synth lines and an underpinning bass that rumbles throughout as ‘clan’ offers a fast paced cut with high pitched whistling that echoes alongside a thumping kick drum and organic percussion to bring the package to a close..

earth trax is kruczynnski s take on strictly club material, yet channeling the very same baltic melancholy he uses in his other projects. following on from his 12inchs on rhythm section and dopeness galore, his phonica 12inch begins with lavventura, a deep yet glittering house production with a piano led melody we couldn’t get enough of, so we present two versions across the a-side. the main version is preceded by a fantastic dub version, shades of kerri chandler shine through on this one! on the flip his otherworldly interpretation of house and techno continues with nokturn and hg, both pad-rich, ethereal productions of the highest quality that perfectly compliment the a-side and round out the record in style.

just jack are back again with 4 tracks of dopeness, courtesy of cocoons first lady dana ruh. on the a side, dana provides 3 cuts, of deep, dreamy house. whilst on the flip - chicagos, steven tang steps up on remix duties under his obsolete music technology moniker, tangs squelchy acid remix is only available on wax! very limited vinyl copies, so dont sleep!

the first installment of cacao, cwhirring loops. don t mess gets a treatment from italo-german pair black loops. amping up the groove and adding distorted eerie vocals, the remix keeps the initial disco appeal with an added dose of deep tech grit, destined for late night dancentral american rooted label with a knack for refreshing house & techno flavours, showcases five tracks that ooze exotic dopeness. the duo k.e.e.n.e. strut their noted production skills, kicking off with the disco house hybrid don t mess. with a permeating vocal hook and scintillating synths, a relentless groove shapes the deeply immersive arrangement. who stole the soul offers up an exhilarating tech house exploration, pairing spacious percussion with undulating synths. resulting in a playful and versatile melody with a wandering vocal, the cut comes as is as well as purely instrumental. and.id jumps on the remix, increasing the deepness factor and instilling an almost underwater-like ambiance through whizzing synths and e floor antics.

people must jam s ninth record is from one of our favourite djs and producers. a guy who has a ridiculously large back catalogue and in our opinion it is a crime that some of his records haven t received bigger recognition. a true master of house and hip hop music, kid sublime has been putting out amazing records since 2001. his own label dopeness galore literally does exactly what it says on the tin. even before we launched people must jam s label we wanted kid sublime to be a part of it. now finally we are stoked to present this ep... four serious cuts for four different vibed floors - look out! first up kid s homage to techno legend ben sims with bang like sims a driving deep techno groove. strong percussion, deep stabs and that unrelenting beat are going to ensure this one gets some love on the harder edged, heavier dance floors. we the people heads a little down the tribal route with some afro inspired percussion, haunting samples and that kalimba! dropping a really infectious riff before beautiful piano melodies drift in and out of the mix. wonderful stuff. the title track i like em dirty , we feel, is a lesson in proper deep house. classic sounding house beats, little guitar licks, deep stabs and the vocal sample combine for this perfect house cut. massive. the ep is rounded out with another cut in tribute to the legend that was kenny hawkes. another master of his craft - kenny sadly now passed on but his spirit is well and truly alive in this fitting tribute. one 4 kenny features strong percussion, low bass, deep stabs and slamming beats = cracking stuff

shadeleaf no.9 sees city fly s jonna step up with a superb ep ! vocalist erik rico graces title track through the night , a serious piece of deep, disco influenced dopeness that follows the classic us house blueprint, but with that all important uk grit in the construction. a2 & 3 cater for the labels love of lo-slung sample house, with music for people really shining as a thumpin sound system jam who better to tackle the beautiful title track than ny born, detroit grown bad boy kai alce ! his recent sandman & riverside joint has been testing a few speaker stacks these last few weeks, so the label couldn t wait to hear his versions of through the night safe to say, he doesn t disappoint ! a disctinctive vocal rub that recalls classic ron trent, and a stripped down and deadly kzr dub - roots house at its finest ! another shadeleaf sureshot !

more vinyl-only dopeness from colonel wrong face and the just jack crew. serving up the heat this time is berlin based producer rydim, a man who’s been stirring up dance floors and releasing records for over a decade now, both as a solo artist and also collaborating with 2 friends under a very popular, super hush-hush pseudonym (it’s a secret yeah, so we ain’t telling you nuffing!). detroit’s jared wilson brings home the bacon on remix duties, turning out a deep acid sleaze-fest for the discerning earlobe. pack your wellies cause that 303 shit is squelchy.

hot shot sounds expand their remit with the launch of peddlin trax, a new houseorientated series to keep you riding all day and into the night. first up is the legend of amsterdam s house and hip-hop scene, the master kid sublime, anyone that follows his work on the dopeness galore label will agree this is a fine choice. real hipsters don t dance tees off in a kenny dope does b-boy house kind of vibe, whilst -that ringtone shit- is on more of a dog in the night tip. down below, both get high and one for ibiza are pure house bliss, the sort of cuts you love to slip in the mix, whilst kid sublime heads off into buttery beatdown boogie territory on closing track s.e.x.x.x. met jouwww. a strong start to the series.

richard rogers black booby re-edits return with bb07, which sees chi-town original and ron hardy protégé gene hunt - a black booby veteran from bb04 - digging out more vintage dat dopeness on the double-a-side, which features raw-as-hell analogue house workout *1015* (a take on the dion & tony track from his chicago dance tracks collection on rush hour back in 2011) alongside the very aptly-named (and appropriately drum-fuelled) *dr roland*. meanwhile on the b-side you will hear uk house music og terry farley sharing production duties with another 90s house veteran, stuart stretch silvester. *play house* (original mix) is a synth-heavy jacking houser with serious dancefloor intent, plus check out the kklassik mix by another chi-town don, k alexi shelby, who chases the original headlong down a dark alley littered with emotive samples and thumping keys.
