chasing voices breaks its short ceasefire and rearms for the 5th installment in the ongoing series of musical theses at the forefront of new york citys electronic scene. purging the emotional distance and ironic poise of an increasingly numb aesthetic culture, *awoken by tears* is the naked, stark and barren truth of a deeply sentient musical form. heartbroken and angry, this is the new techno militancy taking on the classic materials of creative drive: pain, loss, memory—those negative spaces of the human condition that lay waste to so many weak souls, leaving behind piles of dust and rubble in their path.

chasing voices returns for its 4th installment with an audacious reiteration of the projects uncompromising ethos and technique. >valley of the dry bones< operates on the peripheries of club music and far-sighted rock mutation, death march-disco for the ever-present sunburn of daily scourges and musical apathy. prospering from plentiful sentimentally-tinged stabs and a breathtaking, slow-churning progressive disintegration, >valley of the dry bones< hits intuitively and suddenly, a bent and bruised anthem for problematic times. despair can be celebrated, and celebration can be despairing—if anything the nyc collectives latest bomb seems to stem from a need to revive the cannibalism of a movement that has grown weary of its own cliches, to dissect itself and hopefully come out the other end better and new?? albeit scarred and never quite the same.

our next release soars over the atlantic in full color, splashing down an ep flowing with undercurrents of whimsical electricity. produced by new yorks coral oconnor, conversations fuses together bygone voices with vibrant synths and buoyant house rhythms to bring us four dance floor ready musings.

nonkeen is a project led by nils frahm (erased tapes) alongside sebastian singwald and frederic gmeiner. nils frahm and gmeiner attended the same school in hamburg. a mutual interest in sound recording brought them together and they began producing their own radio show which featured sounds from school, the voices of their teachers and recordings of their own instruments, all recorded on tape machines for kids. the double vinyl release includes a download code.

kinfolk head to philly for kinfolk004, welcoming committed vinyl rummager and top notch dj billy werner into the fold. this 10 inch is the apparent end product of that rare occurrence where budding producer sends label unsigned tracks that are actually decent. *kick & flutter* is a blinky blue sunrise of a tune, innocent, euphoric and, dare we say, totally balearic... not retro but timeless. *where the sea meets the stones* treads a similar line but with a more incessant acidic undertone. both perfect for chasing sunrises and sunsets... as is traditional you get a soft rocks remix to boot... murmured voices, gentle pulses and psychedelic repetition. did any of the original make it in there? just relax and enjoy it...

we are extremely happy to kick off 2012 with the second release of good ratio music. after capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide with “money ep” from chasing kurt, it is time to warm up your senses with this emotional “one by one” by our friend tom ellis. a great 2012 starting for this new label runned by carlo and baldo. four evocative songs are composing by this ep which feels pretty organic and sensitive at the same time. you might be ready to embark in such an affecting voyage built upon those ever imperfect harmonies and natural rythm. without any apparent fear we can catalogue this ep in the mood of an experiment close to deep house. definitely it is coming from hundred of harmonic sounds and light melodies, everything mixed up with great sax samples and voices to go further than a dancefloor moving. in this way we need to say big thanks to michiel renger & sammy maine for their contributions in the sax and voice respectively. basically it will be a pleasure to make you feel captured over the clouds after the listening
