this is quite simply one of the most glorious records you will hear this year. it would be easy to lazily reference it against classic period rephlex/planet mu stuff (oops, i just did!), and indeed it appears to share some of the same heritage (even going so far as to feature a remix of rephlex artist global goon in its tracklisting) - but chris leary aka ochre is obviously a man on his own mission. gorgeously lush, but at the same time super-funky…as electronic as kraftwerk starring in a remake of tron, yet somehow as pastoral and organic as edward elgar…much like his label-mate ed chamberlain, leary manages that tricky task of being supremely technical in his programming and arrangements, but without losing the heart and soul of the music amidst all the studio trickery. you know that old chestnut often said when referring to vintage or classic music, >they dont make them like that any more<? well they do…and here it is! simply fantastic.

night light is the imprint of bosnian dj duo sinisa tamamovic and mladen tomic. they represent quality techno from the eastern part of europe. for their first release on night light they attracted big names from their region, marko nastic and axel karakasis. a flying start for the label, now continuing the success story with another quality ep, la musica loca. this time dejan milicevic had the honour to deliver two great tracks for the a-side, both remixed on the b-side by mladen tomic and sinisa tamamovic themselves. this label has just begun, yet theres no doubt a lot more great quality techno will be released in the future !!

a perfect example for the second category is the lnz013 track rezolution. even though limited on 500 white label copies, this hypnotic minimal trip became an incredible public success over the last two months. not only, but especially on ibiza, the feos & miroir production is regularly spinned by all important tech house djs. not set the dance floor alight or keep it ablaze with rezolution is a big faux pas the party crowd hardly could accept. due to the overwhelming demand for the lnz013 (and the fact that its sold out mostly everywhere) the label decided to press a second edition of this legendary tune. unlike the tria track of the limited vinyl, the flipside comes with a re-edit version of rezolution, produced by pascal feos studio mate chris wood. extended to 8.30 minutes of playtime, he retained all stunning sound elements of the original, re-arranged them, gave great new accents and lifted the track cleverly up to an even higher, minimal house energetic level. thats why we dont call it a b-, but aa-side track
