this is a limited 12inch vinyl release on kieran hebdens (four tet) text records label. 500 only for the world. two new remixes of one of the stand out tracks from the debut album by one little plane that came out last summer. the first mix is by avus who is one of the artists on james holdens border community label. a beautiful piece of melodic techno that has been getting lots of play at border community nights since late last year. the other remix is by joe goddard from hot chip. techno with a strong uk garage influence. following on from the amazing remixes he has done for everyone from gang gang dance to kraftwerk.

the first release features nobody else than the nice guy and techno-preacher eric sneo (masters of disaster / beatdisaster) from frankfurt, germany. after a lot of smashers on well known labels like kombination research, clr, patterns and abstract, eric is now back on driving forces recordings with a massive 2 tracker. on the a side you can find a mainstyle braincracking track called vintage force which will drive the crowd totally crazy. with a rolling beat, the sneo typical driving percussion and a wicked leading sound, this one will heat up every mainstage all over the globe. the b side features a track called coming home, a dark and evil bassmonster with a tiny percussive melo, strong enough to break down the walls of all the clubs out there. modern techno for the peaktime is what you get. it lets you forget the hype about the minimal kind of music. next to the austrian local heroes, a number of big names of the international techno circus were signed and thats why a good and diversified start of the label will be sure.

>we are electric< is the second single to be taken from the recently released >entertainment< album by fischerspooner. a soaring slice of scintillating electro with super fried guitars and anthemic lyrics that put me in mind of blade runner. possibly the standout track on an album full of super strong tunes, >we are electric< comes with 3 amazing remixes which couldnt be more different from each other. the lush radio friendly nu disco mix by kitsune favourites classixx reaveals the pop heart of the song and makes us think of the pet shop boys. next up is an absolutely storming mix by cursor miner, this is so hot its likely to burn the hair off your head if heard at full volume. its extreme treated vocals recall moments from the first fs album but the beats are pure miner madness. lastly but by no means least we have hot chip at their most club friendly, comparatively subtle compared to the previous mix, its deceptive simplicity reveals an insidious dancefloor killer when played in the right context. so there we have it then a knockout single from fischerspooner on the back of a great album that has received some fine press, a selection of which is printed below.
