nicole atkins (born october 1, 1978) is an american singer-songwriter best known for her work with the band nicole atkins & the sea. her sound is known for its mix of traditional vocal styles and introspective lyrics. she has been compared to roy orbison and singers from the brill building era.

the album also features a song co-written by agnetha fältskog. although she had composed much of her swedish solo output, the song disillusion , for which she wrote the music, is the only song released on an abba album to feature a songwriting contribution from her.

for more than a year, third ear and benjamin have been selecting tracks for this ep and for an album to follow later in the year. the wait was largely due to the track no kicks, which initially used a chuck d acapella, titled no. when third ear couldn?t get clearance for the acapella, we suggested to benjamin that we try and think of another poet/rapper who could produce an original lyric inspired by chuck d?s flow. after some thought we suggested diamondancer, who was inspired to write the lyric she performs here. stay hungry stay foolish and acidic sun are delicious and dreamy, with a fat pulsing groove. hello ammmerika is more urgent, pushing the groove constantly.
