dass tracks aus dem hause reboot in der vergangenen cocoon-saison eine herausragende rolle spielten, dürfte niemandem verborgen geblieben sein, schließlich konnte sich der 30jährige frankfurter produzent frank heinrich bereits zusammen mit johnny d. im rahmen des >disco invaders<-cocoon ibiza summer mix in einer art live-jam-session austoben. umso verblüffender, dass erst jetzt nach releases auf below und cadenza endlich die erste reboot-12 inch auf cocoon erscheint. >ronson< macht mit seinem tribalistischen einschlag schnell klar, wohin die reise geht, mit alarmsirenen und druckluftausstoß zeigt sich heinrich hier so kompromisslos energetisch wie nie und bleibt dabei maximal pumpend, aber immer sexy. etwas abwartender strukturiert, gönnt das polyrhythmisch perkussive >mirasierra< dann den erschöpften tänzerinnen und tänzern eine kleine atempause, auch wenn die kräftig dub-verzierte bassline dabei ganz schön diskoide glücksmomente setzt. für die gefühlten tropischen momente im jetzigen frühjahr sind jedenfalls beide tracks bestens geeignet!!

lars niekisch is most well-known for his berlin partnership with frank hermann as trick and kubic. since 2005 they have carved out vintage releases on labels such as get physical and great stuff. voyager is lars first solo release, acidic, ravey and thoroughly deep down and dirty, it has smashed many a main room in recent weeks. voyager has already been licensed to a forthcoming hernan cattaneo mix compilation, and the single also features the debut remix from long term buzzin fly resident dj, chris woodward. the track has received great feedback from a-list club djs including john digweed, solomon, cattaneo and the dirt crew. this is the latest single from ben watts respected imprint, buzzin fly. collectors artwork on the 12inch.

in 2002, carl craig was at the centre of a collaboration between some of detroits most talented musicians old and new, including motown session players percy hughes and ron otis - the result of which was the spellbinding detroit experiment. one of the highlights of this session was their re-interpretation of donald byrd and larry mizells classic think twice, which was transformed into a sublime and unique jazz-house hybrid by this disparate ensemble of techno and r&b heavyweights. to continue the theme laid down by the detroit experiment, we have enlisted the skills of the multi-talented henrik schwarz - no stranger to fusing musical styles. his amazing remix effortlessly combines organic and electronic elements, to create a stirring piece of modern electronic dance music which has already taken the roof off parties across europe and the us, with pre-release plays from djs as diverse as ame, giles smith, justin martin, dixon and kev beadle.

another serious result from our warehouse rummaging! si begg is a man of many musical personalities, his list of aliases is impressive to say the least (bigfoot, buckfunk3000, lenny logan, s.i. futures, zygmunt janowski...). but one of his oldest, and certainly one of his strangest, is cabbage boy. in fact i confess i am old enough to remember his releases in the early 90s on cassette tape under the umbrella of the >cabbage head collective< (which also included such techno notables as cristian vogel & tim wright) - and pretty mental they were too. the lost tapes vol. 1 doesnt disappoint on that front, containing such gems as a remix of 80s pop mysteries frank chickens>we are ninja<, and an electronic cover version of >king kong< by frank zappa (ask your parents...). totally out there, but totally cool at the same time...highly recommended to anyone looking for something with some real personality amidst the hard-drives full of faceless (and usually nameless) digital fluff

we are pleased to welcome dubnoodles whose previous releases on milnor modern and rundlauf musik certainly grabbed our attention. on this ocassion, dubnoodles shows two different sides of his music: the a side is funky as hell. both tracks show highly elaborated grooves with a very pleasant shuffly jazz feel. a must for adepts of frank martiniq, akufen, treplec.., and for those who enjoy playful forward thinking grooves. the b side really gives us the shivering. it unravels extremely emotional melodies, powerful strings and intense crescendos. fans of dial and neo detroit will appreciate. all three tracks are a real blessing. as usual, we tried to pack as much amazing music as possible in this release. enjoy!
