hvnxx is one of the most special projects weve taken part in as a label. some months ago the xx and young turks asked our artists to remix tracks from coexist. it was a big honour and also a big responsi- bility, specially considering that the xx is one of our favourite bands. the outcome of such challenge is a four-track ep that showcases the sound of both well-established members of the hivern family, such as marc pinol and new jackson, and upcoming talents such as round and mistakes are ok. all four remixes are pretty different among them, but they all manage to maintain the distinctive spirit of the original songs in their own way. marc pinol takes fiction to the good ol days of chicago house, laying the original vocals on top of analog drum-machines and a rubbery bassline to that suggest an imaginary collaboration between adonis and oliver sim. the elusive mistakes are ok maintains the tropical vibe of reunion but provides a warped atmosphere combining breezy chimes with static haze and a propulsive bass that boosts the song towards the second part of the remix. hiverns latest signee round transforms the fragility of missing into a soothing house cut through uplifting organ chords and vigorous rhythms fulfilling dancefloor demands without loosing its melancholic character. finally, new jackson proves once again his knack with nocturnal ambiences flipping swept away into a sensuous deep-house gem guided by an absorbing piano and a slow but steady groove. the release comes in an embossed sleeve with artwork designed by arnau pi. hvnxx is a co-release with young turks.

over the past couple of years, kellerkinds unique interpretation of house music has truly catapulted him out of the figurative basement and into the limelight. whether it was the disco-infused cool of backflash or the tribal rhythms found on his debut album basement story, through hard work, rather than by miracle, marco biagini matured into a producer who is at the top of his game.

mike parker roars back with the 20th release of his own geophone label. the a side >full moon in winter< is an acidic monster created with a tb-303 devilfish. this track was premiered by dj dozzy at the labyrinth festival and has been sought after ever since. more of mikes insectoid sounds permeate the b side with sizzling analogue high pass filters structured around his tight but fluid rhythms. gph20 is a must for fans of mike parkers otherworldly techno sound.

the scandinavian enigma alias lodbrok is again disintegrating the accepted approaches to undefined techno with his original tracks. with remixers like subjected and chevel invited to bring their personal program to the release we are at bay. the rhythms are broken, smattering and annihilating but always with a gentle touch of sunken atmospheric characteristics.
