despite the watery divide between them, brooklyn-bound greg schappert and london-based tom russell have fostered a production partnership as donor / truss for the last six years, emerging today as one of technos more robust and hardworking duos. as solo artists they ve racked up notable releases between them on labels like stroboscopic artefacts, perc trax and our circula sound, outside of schapperts own miniscule imprint. meanwhile russell has been stepping out as the acid-charged mpia3, lately flexing a less is more approach with outings on avian and r&s.

humans are an abstraction of animal life form – and this is their soundtrack. on the first release monomood shows some light. but the light is pulsating in stroboscopic rhythms and enlightens shadows of moving creatures locked into a murky basement. if this is too disturbing for you, the well known grounded theory mastermind henning baer slows down the frequency to turn the raging floor into a dark moving mass hypnosis. after that you can recognize some dark scientists are brewing a fascinating cocktail out of boiling bass anddistorted sounds capes. drink it and you will know!

blending mode ep by hironori takahashi (lineal, stroboscopic artefacts) showcases two of his original tracks. his sound is best described as deep, raw and hypnotic techno. he has provided us with venatrias & jazert, amazing tracks which are filled with atmosphere and repetitive rhythms they will take you on a deep journey

the next vinyl-only release on candela rising is a 3 track ep from irish duo dara smith & ian mcdonnell, a.k.a lakker. all topped off with a remix of the title track by us born and birmingham based dj skirt. after a string of extremely successful releases on blueprint, killekill and an early 2013 release in the shape of a remix for stroboscopic artefacts, lakker are back and showing more range than ever before. coal bath is a real frankensteins monster of a track, a techno/garage hybrid with haunting vocals hiding through the middle and broken beats that hit hard. skirts remix takes coal bath and lays down some heavy demented bass, chops up the middle and grooves things up. all of which leaves a remix ready for the bunker or warehouse. on the flip, rsspstp is a heavy hitter. distorted bangs set the pace for this one, which evolves into a prime example of the attention to detail lakker are so famed for. machine music at its best. the final track on the ep, brood, is dark and dense, full of cold atmosphere, sub-low beats and distant, distorted drones. techno for the darkest floors ...

italian rising artist dario tronchin a.k.a. chevel made a name for himself in the 2012 techno scene thanks to his unique mixture of experimental dub oriented techno sounds. after being signed by lucys stroboscopic artefacts, chevels need of pursuing his own sound aesthetics brought him to launch his first music platform, enklav.

perc traxs transatlantic duo donor / truss return to the label for the follow-up to their >indifference ep< which was released at the start of 2010. since then they have recorded and remixed for a number of high-profile labels, most notably stroboscopic artefacts to which donor contributed an ep to the labels renowned monad series whilst truss appeared on the remix ep the preceded lucys debut album.
the four tracks that form >endo< represent a new peak for the donor / truss sound with each individual section working as both a self-contained track and a quarter of the entire endo experience. together the 4 parts join together to make a complete piece of music, stretching across 23 minutes and 2 sides of vinyl.

markus suckut is an emerging talent in the world of deep, purist techno. having already released on labels like stroboscopic artifacts and lineal, suckut is quickly honing his skills and turning out some seriously impressive club tools. shine opens the ep as an understated track stretching over 10 minutes, however to experience this on a full club system, perhaps when suckut plays at the figure label night in berghain in april, youll quickly.. >symbiosis< is a paranoid jack track - 2011 style. rigid, reduced and yet alive with endless automation and a very unique sound design. on a more dubbed tip, >you< shows suckuts deeper edge in a controlled and well rounded atmospheric tool for the early hours
