clone classic cuts continues to dig in the crates to bring back forgotten or obscure records from the past! this is 3 tracks by da posse (produced by hula... one of the outthere brothers... and with maurice joshua, k fingers & martell). strings & its my life are chicagos take on detroit techno... a rare release that sounds like a early derrick may record (think the dance) but maybe slightly more straight forward (as one might expect from chicago). a rare piece in house and techno history since this is one of the rare examples of a record that doesnt show the clear difference between chicago and detroit in the late 80s. this record most likely got produced within 1 year after rhythm = rhythms legendary nude photo and strings of life releases (both 87 and this came out in 88). as extra bonus track we have the groove. a phat bass driven chicago acid track that still rocks it. another fine piece of powerful dance music history back in the spot light!

its been a while since the last rsb release, but then tracks like this dont come along every day! for their first vinyl appearance on a label other than their own, enigmatic german duo ancient methods do the honourable thing and break out the whip, a track that comes across like a 2-step party in the foundry of thor himself. lets lazily label it anvil techno, because as far as we are aware no has yet invented a genre that adequately desribes music such as this. and as we have come to expect, much the same can be said of the evil sickness that is eat like hawks by bjorn svin (with a little help from karsten pflum, jona olesen & copyflex!). it starts like it means to go on, with a gnarled loop and indecipherable distorted vocals, and is gradually tweaked and augmented to the point of destruction. all manner of ill bass, overdriven filters, zaps, clanky drums & feedback join the party before the whole affair is brought to an abrupt end by the strange foreign lady that we have come to know and love over the course of the track. truly music for small, sweaty, strobe-driven cellars.

enough of this featuring crap, the starring title seems much more appropriate for club siren luciana. as featured vocalist for bodyrox, the hits yeah yeah and planet topped club charts and led to her cheekily titled debut cd featuring luciana. further tracks with mark knight, super mal and martijn ten velden, have cemented lucianas spot as an electro vixen who can deliver hot vocals with a great track. turning her attention stateside, she has teamed up with richard vission & static revenger for i like that. remixes come from new boys meterhead who hail from la and are doing big things in blogland. the track seemlessly blends electro, glitch, rock and hiphop elements with an 80s feel that is both nostalgic and futuristic. limited edition promo get em while you can!!
