classic cut from the two old hands ! a level non zero release with the catalogue number 23 – who woudnt expect a conspirational track? and indeed: after legendary release >futher & further< (lnz05) the secret house society leaders pascal feos & heiko mso (klang elektronik / playhouse) once again met for a conspirational studio session to dominate the clubbing world with an extraordinary production. the result is named luv and sounds like the essence of the essence of minimal house music neatly stretched out to 11 minutes running time. cladestinely theyve implemented classical chicago jack elements in a modern lunar probe to irridate mother earth with an eternal stream of love. adequate gravitation-free the sound comes across as a gauze of warm bassy clouds, funky finger clicks, sustain violin strings and paradisiac luv female vocals. after a long ethereal break the track speeds up again smoothly and reveals a subtile glowing sound of the tb-303. luv is the perfect example of rarely produced tracks that give you the feeling of oustanding full-embracement

2001, the year that sunshine from dance nation ruled the dance floors around theworld and ever since then has stayed in the record boxes of most djs under the category classics. as it is widely known in the dance community shaun is not really a big fan of cover versions, so just like with laid back (bakerman) shaun hooked up with the original producers and writers and secured the original vocal samples, making this version a real official update instead of just another cover version. incorporating the typical and unique baker sound makes sunshine again internationally interesting.

since their first releases on circus company and milnormodern the 3 mousketeers achieve to impose themsleves on the scene with their unik touch. the band is clement zemtsov on beat programing, damien vandesande on keyboards and horns at last but not least, jonathan illel is warmly laying the lyrics. after having produced hip-hop instrumental for a few years they got into house music after meeting nicolas from nôze. one year and a half later they come up with between the blues ep, a brilliant first ep on circus company. then the guys several eps on other labels like orac or eklo. they also start touring a lot across europe and eastern countries. this new record is called blanche neige (snow white) as the lead track of the ep. all the lyrics from it are taken from the original text written by jacob & whilelm grimm back in 1812. .blanche neige is declined in two different versions. on the a side comes the original mix is the dancefoor cut. slower house beat, solid groove, surround by a marvelous chior. while the break show upreading the first lines of snow white in french. let me just tell you that when the break is over you should fasten your seat belt before a nice take off… the first track on b side is romeo. this track was produced by dop and nôze. once again all the lyrics are taken from a book. here its from .romeo and juliet written by william shackespeare. this track perfectly represent the alliance of both bands. the unik saxophone skills from damien vandesande the one man horn section, a wonderfull piano ride by nôze and the sexy voice of jonathan illel. an acoustic house blaster ! the ep is finaly closing down on b2 with the pop version of blanche neige called >kinder cut. there comes the deepness

groovebox ep is filled with some class a material for the raunchy dancefloor. first up there is into the club. this track is typical for channel x: it will blow off the roof in the club! as the title of the track already suggests, this is another one of channel xs lengthy journeys into nightlife extravaganzas. a wonderful fidgety bassline and a loop filled with loads of soulful vocal samples from strong male leads to sensitive female souls, this tune is both deep, touchful and destroying. the chainsaw effect session in the middle paves the way for more stomping tech-house business. no time to recover from this, because on the flip its straight onto the floor with wake up: a loop thats made of trillions of little cut-up effects, vocal bits and some straight four to the floor business. after a playful beginning the tune moves into an hypnotic piece of trippy techno only to be converted into a restless party anthem for the Überpeak-time. sick! perhaps there is some time to chill with the last of the three tracks that is against the wall. here it becomes clear what channel x are best at: to create dark, hard and moving electronic music with that special ingredient that is soul. this track is a perfect example: some frightening effects, lots of reverb on the creepy samples, but such a wonderfully harmonic sample that seems to shed light at the end of the never-ending afterhour. if there is a message to this music, it would be: you need to look hard, but there is always love. once again label boss oliver koletzki has picked up these two very talented producers very early upon their career and it has paid off: in one release being better than the one before

its been a while since the last release by mark august on connaisseur, but now hes back with an extraordinary one. two tracks, both like a fairytale of a country far, far away. a fable, with mystic and mysterious animals and creatures, might best describe what mark had in mind while working on the tracks. the wasps from tunisia and the silver piggy – the main track on this release is an uncommon piece of music. it starts moody and with a stoic pumping beat, yet also a somehow laidback feeling. it then unexpectedly and surprisingly builds up to a monster of a track, working manically towards its climax. then however, over the length of the track, it completely transforms again, coming back to its beginning, as though nothing had ever happened. scorpions groove is a deep and dubby affaire.

berlin-based belgian producers sierra sam & marcus vector present the debut release of d.i.y. (dumb irresponsible youth), their new house-oriented project. sierra sam (toysforboys, einmaleins, trapez) and marcus vector (toysforboys, nomor, playground) recently released their first joint effort for contexterrior. working together once again, this time around theyve put aside their usual dark techno inclinations, opting instead for uninhibited house led by analog percussion sounds. drumroll, please… >pimp my saw< is a frenzy layers and layers of toms, kicks, steeldrums and clicks. >screw it up< is a more melodic affair, with the classic build-up and tension that defines classic house material, plus a hint of latino finesse. on the flip, >hammer of love< closes things out with a shuffly balance between the organic and the artificial, with looming atmospheric ambience to set a darker tone. these three tracks are the perfect tools to use where the sun dont shine. after 17 years of working together, tejada & leviste are back in the studio again putting their modular synths to good work. m tracks (m as in modular) features 4 analog workouts in varying styles. m track 1 features a melodic deep, yet driving track reminiscent of the duos best known work. m track 2 and 3 showcase a trackier sound focusing on basic elements while m track 4 turns in a much more experimental direction. the approach to this ep was a very fun, hands on process. analog sequencers are used to drive the various modular synths and their components. this process allowed for a more organic feel as the unstable electronics change over time as well as the manual changing of parameters over time. systems used include doepfer and frostwave sequencers, and modular systems consisting of cwejman, doepfer, harvestman and bananalogue modules. analog drum machines aided in the rhythms, however m track 3 was generated from pure modular hardware including the drums.
