>esta si esta no< by the glimmers featuring baby g. is a cover version of one of the biggest euro rave anthems from the early nineties originally written and performed by spanish superstar dj chimo bayo. beautiful baby g (from lsb fame on eskimo recordings) took the vocals for her part whilst half of the glimmers house band disko drunkards are playing the instruments on this quite original adaptation. this release features three remixes. glimmers favorite german fella daniel haaksman (from berlin based man recordings) goes favella funk style with a very catchy sax hook and the amazing in flagranti is doing with the track what they can do best, making it very synthy disco sexy.. they deliver a vocal and an instrumental version.

the next release on ec records is one of rotterdam based dj taras van de voorde. taras, a lifetime ec records fan, took his chance and made a real nice package of tracks for michel. the first one is sometimes, a great melodic tech-house track with quite a special flavour. dutch talented dj and producer boris ross made a great remix of sometimes called the boris ross up dub. the third track on this ep called >1998< and is a great tech-house killer made for a big public! dont look weird if djs like john digweed and adam beyer both will play this track!

let the springtime begin! sunshine is here! the talented cablespring has done something incredible. he took a 70s hit from the biggest spanish singer ever and made it into the dancefloor sensation of 2010. remixes come from muzikjunki, d-rashid & roberto da costa and barbosa brothers.

the infamous krause duo is back on philpot! it took them 4 years to come up with these soul-grinding pieces of deep swing. teaming up with large maeurer again whose minor keys adding that certain blues, we felt for on their first release in 2006 (php012). this is f... irresistible dance music with an edge! please make up your own mind on this one - we simply love it!

the day is finally here... we kicking off the new year with a big one! the original release of restless soul and i know it in 2007 featuring the breath taking vocals of zansika took us all by storm the first time we heard this tune. it was one of those records that has timeless stamped all over it when it landed on our desk, but after years it was time to bring it out of the vault and give it new life! we called on restless souls new generation jose carretas to take a walk down memory lane and give us his take on this record we loved all so much... hope all enjoy this one as much as we do and play it loud!

encer kincy was giant in chicagos house music revival - part of the second wave of younger djs and producers that took the music of the early 1980s, rubbed it up and dropped it in places like 500 west cermak, medusa’s and the vault. a lot of people who are now superstars of the scene - mark farina, sneak, derrick carter, and dozens of others - were a part of that movement, too. spencer released a number of tracks on relief, planet e, cajual, peace frog - labels representing the classics of that era - and he usually recorded under the name gemini. as a dj, he operated in his own space - i’m sure he could play for a room, and sometimes did, but the unrestrained madness of a spencer kincy dj set had to be heard over several hours to appreciate. he could blend a sleazy disco track into hard acid, downtempo into a punishing armani track, jazz into detroit techno and so on. it wasn’t technically brilliant or tricky, but the selection was exquisite. a number of figures from his era still list him as an influence. his productions, viewed as a whole, are so much like his sets: going softer than many dared to go, and going much harder than just about any dared to go. simple jack tracks! respected by the standards of the industry of the time, and you certainly couldn’t go anywhere in chicago without hearing derrick, sneak, mark, lego, gene, jevon, diz, johnny or the other djs beating them. and so many of them have a timelessness - a little piece of eternity stuck like some bit of wax between the grooves

after the well received all creation 12s delsin records drops yotokos >wet ink<. yotoko are shifty & domu (jcr, 2000black, archive). yotoko stands for a perfect fusion between broken beat, techno and soul.
their album is not about breaking barriers, but it is their own little twisted version of what they call techno. for yotoko techno can be heard in everything, so as such it is all techno. domu and shifty are influenced by lots of different stuff, soul, jazz, disco, hip hop, techno, some old break beat, new broken stuff.. as well 20 pence mad charity shop finds.. the album is about yotoko making music they think is cool and realizing that all this music is the same no matter what the bpm or groove.
domu started as sonar circle for 4 heros reinforced label. later on active as domu for labels as archive and 2000 black and together with archive label boss volcov for the jcr-label with their album as rima. shifty is domus longtime comrade, making his first musical public appearance as yotoko. the albums artwork will be done by amsterdams machine, who already took care of the kindred spirits releases.

with mexilhao steve parker continues to impress the global scene as this awesome tune, once unleashed, is absolutely taking no prisoners on it s way. so it shouldn t be a big surprise that no other than dubfire just took steve under his musical wing. steve s tunes keep being play-listed by the likes of richie hawtin, dubfire, derrick may, josh wink etc...

swen hutmacher returns to momentum, accompanied by bob morane, both guys well known freaks from germany. his first release on momentum was sold out within three weeks, now swen took some time for getting new input and this release is a strong follow up! >niveauregulierung< will fit into every minimalistic set without loosing its techy appeal while >kiss me< is a sure shot also on the housy side of clublife, dominated by vocals throughout the whole track. unique release and big support for sure from all deejays with taste :-)

the choice of anja schneider for remix duties was an obvious one, the pair first met on a shuttle bus to an event and in short stead paul was co-writing for anja, becoming part of the driving force behind her huge debut album ‘beyond the valley’, now she pulls out all the stops to reciprocate with this standout reworking.
first up on the package is the anja schneider remix of ‘three weeks’, the opening cut from paul’s recent album. here the pair, deconstruct the parts and rebuild things into a deep and hypnotic version that has instant dancefloor appeal stamped all over it. solid, chunky drums rub up against simple spacey synth lines and warm pads to huge effect. bearing in mind the superb quality of the original this is a job well done, and a real addition to this great package.
next we have the original of ‘three weeks’, a track named after the extensive time it took to record. paul had originally intended to record the album in 6-8 weeks, then ended up spending nearly half of his allocated time on this opener. but it has to be said it was worth the effort. this is a slice of solid tech inspired house with subtle vocal elements and a musicality that cuts through the records club based nature. excellent stuff.
finally we have diamant flute, another winner from the ‘me, myself and live’ album. deep and highly engaging this again displays paul outstanding talents as a producer, weaving melodic elements deep into the mix and retaining an incredible underground electronic sound.

bodo elsel has only done a handful of records and the two that i have known and loved since 1998 were put out on playhouse, the excellent housey sister-label of mighty klang elektronik. one track in particular, discount baby, has always stood out in my mind as a high water mark in the sacred art of groove (you may have heard of it). punchy accents and resonant bass layered with trippy vocal loops, its dubby acid house of the highest order, made by a mysterious german lego-master, who the a&r team of mike mind and thomas st shindig managed to coax back into activity.
it only took bodo a year to answer mr. minds email, but he eventually delivered three amazing tracks... >haustier< revitalizes piano house. >mai< is incredible, and >mein haus< is one of the top few all-time expressions of the greatness/meaning of germany, putting it in the fine company of the autobahn, sven väth and christmas-market schwein. nice wibes!!
the icing on the cake was that bodo made it very clear he wanted no part in royalties or any of that business crap... he just wanted 42 copies of the record. yes. 42.
we were so inspired by all of this that we decided to put this record out in a different way for us that just feels right this time.... if you want to find out just how good the >mein haus ep< is, you will have no choice but to buy a copy of the 12 inch because this one is a vinyl exclusive!

2nd single from the patrick cowley & jorge socarras album >catholic<. bleeding edge remixing by oni ayhun and noble editing by morgan geist added for your pleasure. while still everybody keeps guessing whos behind the mysterious and burning hot works of oni ayhun, macros got the mans first ever remix! o.a. obscured cowleys >memory fails me< with his trademark darkness and took it to the edge of engineering. and its got all that feeling, too! if you asked yourself what a forward-thinking patrick cowley might have done today - here is a serious offering. >burn brighter flame< is the disco heart of the album. with all disco crate digging of the decade, >bbf< is the ultimate find. since the original artists had intended this one to be a single theres also a stunning instrumental! we just remember how everybody got tears of joy when finn johannsen mixed the different versions of this for the first time at berlins picknick. who could have been asked for an edit of this gem other than metro areas morgan geist? creating a dialogue between the vocal and instrumental versions, his edit offers even more variety for the dj to mix in and out of this great tune.

the third instalment of the apres vinyl series explores the indie disco dimensions of future classics 2 year old sunday afternoon session in sydney. when we commissioned gemma smith to produce four artworks for the series this angular and intense piece sat well with the spiky hot chip meets junior boys disco punk funk of melbourne 3 piece clubfeet. it also worked with adelaides sidwho, another promising newcomer whos recent 12inch on cage & aviarys the walls have ears imprint got rave reviews from horse meat disco, mock & toof, tim sweeney and optimo to name a few. millionaire is an early taster of the pop sensibilities of sids forthcoming solo album with future classic. sids also a member of the modular signed live disco act the swiss. chad and nathan took some time out from the future classic hq to turn in a remix of millionaire together with good friend bryan o callaghan who also happens to be head chef at the tilbury where aprÞs is held. bryan quickly became a firm friend of future classic after mudd and aeroplane were booked for sets at apres with bryan seeking us out, immediately impressing us with his unparalleled knowledge of rare disco and groove. last but definitely not least (since it made the a1) came pink frosts remix of evening star by another local sydney band todd sparrow. after a heavy vinyl digging session at redeye records,the stores vinyl buyer scott, handed nathan a cdr and the call was made then and there and we had our third apres release - an intentionally all australian installment!

new kid on the block jacob korn (dresden, germany yall!) convinced sometime somewhere in toronto with a hearty live set that took a route over hip hop, down tempo house and all kinds of funkiness until it peaked with the disco-house-craze >i like the sun (but not on leds)<. much to the delight of a present running back a&r. hands were shook and it took only 2 and a half years until the test pressing arrived. supplemented with the slow burning >selene< that really gets you the second time around, prevents the typical mistakes current deep house likes to make (at least, we think so) and is the sun gods sister, the a-side is good to go. flip the script to see prins thomas in a good temper, rolling out the red carpet with one of his tried and tested remixes. >i like the sun< piles up to 13 minutes of true diskomiks glory including drums that go on forever (bonus beats, yall!) and some eye-cue-markers for those of you who are deaf already. well, swell

westpark unit (aka herb lf & ingo saenger) are back with their annual release on farside records after some work for labels like dessous, tjumy, future classic or fear of flying. this time, they provide 4 brandnew trax for the vinyl edition. more forever might be familiar to a few people that followed the music of westpark unit over the years. the tune is a special rework of their first ever limited 12inch release forever back in 2002 on draft recordings. more forever took some of the original deep harmonies, keeps parts of the piano loop and the beautiful sampled hook and should be a soulful bomb on the 2009 floors. even deeper 45 grows and grows with a very intensely chord, takes you on a trip with its driving bassline and is the other dubby deep house tune here. the first demo version received some nice feedback / chartings / plays from djs like dplay, matt flores or shur i kan. while speaking of house (not house), jam hot and familiar sequence are musically caught somewhere in between the styles. jam hot might be more funk than house with sexy 104 bpm, is bouncing like hell and keeps the crowd shaking and moving. familiar sequence appeals to the disco fanatics out there, has a little of a balearic vibe and is also keeping things slow. both tunes are the perfect startup into the night. we think this is the right tempo for party anyway.

afu limited welcomes alex long to it s artist catalogue and he starts with two slammin and cool technotracks with ultra trippy vocals! there is not much need to say anything about these tracks, just listen and enjoy the trip through the space age with a fast beating heart! since he was young, he has always been impressed by the sounds of the synths, electro pop and later on acid house. in the beginning of the 90ies, when the slovenian electronic scene was still in the making, he was a regular guest in the legendary k4 and palma in slovenia. he was taken further into the world in 1998 when he took his first steps behind the turntables and he has been producing music since 2004. since then, he has had quite a few releases and remixes for different record labels. he has dj gigs with huge names of the electronic scene and in large festivals in slovenia and became the official slovenian hero of the future in 2007 at the disconautica festival.he spends much of his time in his studio, where his thoughts are converted into notes and melodies, and as he often states, he finally found a style that suits him and always finds a challenge in. what is that style? he doesn t like to be defined by a specific music style, as he prefers and is influenced by many different genres of electronic music. alex long is definitely a name we will hear of in the future!

played by efdemin, ellen allien, karotte , lawrence, luciano, len faki, monika kruse, raresh, shinedoe... hailing from the southeast asian jungle, globalization, diaspora, and the unchecked native baboon explosion have all seriously endangered patuá, so we are afraid that poor patuá has very few brothers and sisters left in this world. lucky for you, as the vakant freak out bus has transversed the planet so many times now, we have indeed found (gasp) patuá and present patuá here for your delight and revelry. all it took to lure patuá onto the bus was some animal crackers and a 1989 game boy. truly momentous, yes we feel like noah. once onboard we immediately put patuá to work and this double a-side is the result. apparently house is big everywhere. smooth and warm, a-side macaista reaches out to the remaining patuá of this world and says, i am here, do not fret. if patuá reaches out with macaista, aa-side chapado is the reach around. much like his newfound masters, patuá is quite cheeky. thick and spacey chapado is the patuá mating call to all the remaining tribe members earthbound and beyond!

support by enzo elia, sultan, oliver koletzki, martin eyerer, marc romboyà flash recordings was a result of collaborations between oliver koletzki and florian meindl back in 2006, now after olivers label stil vor talent took off and flooded him with work, florian manages flash on his own. the first musical statement for this new paths florian is going comes in the shape of a single with two perfectly crafted dance-floor weapons: >time to move< is a disco tech- house tool built with a solid and mechanic meindl beat&bass construction, which ends up in a superlong break before it gets hit back by the beat.

played by karotte, giles smith (secretsundaze), laurent garnier... already up to its 17th release, yore keeps rolling on, this time with a new release by memory foundation. in 1994 robert hood found his way into a dark basement somewhere in viennas suburbia. mr. hood was impressed by what he had heard, and with him a dat-tape took a long journey back to where techno was invented once. with their first appearance on detroits m-plant label 15 years ago, the memory foundation or one of their many alter egos found its way into the hearts and the record-bags of many serious electronic music lovers. in 1997, after setting up their own record labels central and together with jeremiah grow! and other releases on m-plant, 7th city or usm followed. the memory foundation now returns with their contribution for the yore camp, with their >reptiles in exile ep< they prove that they havent lost their magic touch. the track burns with electro-funk fire, with natural kit and cymbal sounds giving the already-surging cut extra thrust and the staccato burble of metallic chords adding berlin flavour. a lithe eight-note bass motif anchors the warm techno-funk of >bass traveller< as a flaring synth motif squiggles alongside rhodes chords and a boogieing clavinet line, and its easy to become so engrossed by the tunes relaxed swing that the artistry of its arrangement can go underappreciated. textbook body music, >summer visions< is an earthier, mid-tempo funk workout thats sure to get the dance floor crowded, while the light-speed closer >reptiles< blazes a slinky house trail whose fresh swing has got yore written all over it. with any luck, we wont be waiting twelve more years for the next memory foundation release

flying circus music, returns with its second release, this time rocking the deep, extended, dramatic house vibes of radio slaves interpretations of humates love stimulation. the new-berliner matt edwards took his popularity from underground to overground, and right back round again. the world-travelling dj founded his solid, big room production style while his infamous bootleg and remix work was a mainstay of the uk electronic scene. now, with the strength of his rekids label and his unmistakable production approach, he re-works this early classic of german techno/trance élove stimulation into two remarkable slow burning epics. the >full length vox remix< builds from very opening bars, carefully combining classic house sensibilities with a totally free and organic, long flowing arrangement. at over 15 minutes, its a heavy weight tool for those late, hedonistic hours! carrying on the blissed out theme, weare also treated to a panorama garage remix, that bears a more raw, jacking house vibe, with its straight up beats and deeply-swung chord stabs. radio slave is a master at keeping things ear-tinglingly stripped, yet still filling the room with power, energy and tension. these two remixes certainly pay their dues to classic days gone by, but they also stand out as superb examples of the modern state of house. judging by this release its still as strong as it ever was!!

lakeof = reboot & meat !!!! barbarito capote aka dj dove had devoted most of his career fine-tuning the sultry sounds heard throughout his eleven years as a producer. known for his legendary productions on labels like som underground,look at you, slip n slide, below is proud to rerelease one of his hard to find tracks. roots & culture, originaly released on the blue room session ep û som underground 2002 is one of this records where people spend tons of money to get a 2nd hand copy of this epic house release. lakeof aka meat and reboot took the chance to put their hands on this legendary track and the result is an puming bass in your face chicago bomb wich guarantees to set the dancefoors on fire all over the world.

maybe there is no such thing as an autobiographic song in electronic dance music but valentino kanzyanis 33 certainly comes as close as it gets. marking the artists 33rd birthday in 2008 – the christs years as one would say in his home country of slovenia – the record was intended as a symbolic milestone in his highly successive career. as an artist who loves being surrounded by a crowd in professional as well as in personal life kanzyani soon began organizing huge birthday parties where he performed together with his friends. the sets were readily released on promo records, which received a lot of attention. finally, kanzyani & tomy declerque took it a step further by canalising the motivating atmosphere of their summer performance into a full-fledged studio release.

the new white release comes with a fundamental change: it s an artist ep. the faces series was a very radical and honest way to launch an artist. but for the artist eps we wanted to give them space, so they can share deeper insights of their artistic development with us. says oskar offermann, who runs the label and does all the a&r decisions. the kick-off ep comes from german-peruvian nu , who stood out already with his last white release voca (white004). he was desperately in search of a musical identity for his peruvian roots. so he decided to join a group of shamans during travels through his home country. and they took him on a spiritual journey, in order to find his lost roots on the other side. a trip to hell which lasted a few days.

when we first started thinking about the compilation, we had in mind the idea to put together a great minimal techno selection with stuff from the early 90s, which really inspired us, like robert hood, dan bell, plastikman, pansonic and mike ink to name a few. whilst working on the project we had the feeling that there is so much more great and influential minimal music from way before the techno thing started. so we were very excited to combine the music from the electronic pioneers, with the tracks from the minimal techno godfathers in a very modern way. in minimal music there is so much (space) in between the sounds and the space that gives you a lot of opportunities for an own interpretation. the grandfather paradox is a scientific theory about time travelling and was first described by the science fiction writer rene barjavel in his book - le voyageur imprudent. we took suggestions out of that because we felt like we are travelling back in time and manipulating the old music with modern knowledge. the fact that we did all this with the deserved respect to the originals makes us quite sure that the results are bringing something new and interesting to the old tracks and transport the past into the here and now. - henrik schwarz, ?e & dixon

now his latest brainchild sees the daylight. spaceshuttle backpack is another pumping, techy and warm tune that will stir up many dance floors around the globe. the original track was given that special new york ish remix treat by no one less than gaby dershin, who as most of you know is half of world renowned producer duo bit crushers. the second remix comes from prinsjan and dennis ruyer, a producer duo with genuine radio roots, being radio dj?s on ducth radio station radio538. these blokes took their spaceshuttle backpack interpretation to the deeper side of house music. all in all this again resulted in a very versatile package that will have quite an impact over the next couple of months for sure. a fresh sound has arrived, and those seeking surprises on the dancefloor are advised to plug in to patch park.
