jimmy edgars blossoming ultramajic imprint gets off to a typically brazen start in 2014 with an ep of fiercely visceral club music from us born, berlin-based producer danny daze. a self-confessed lover of classic electro, the 3 tracks present contain the mechanical aesthetics and skewed sonics of the labels he holds close to heart, whilst packing an undeniable punch that will see these drawn for time and time again. daze is the first in a whole slew of acts to be welcomed onto the roster over the course of the year, and marks another exciting chapter for the burgeoning label.

third release for serie limitée. still 300 copies, 180g, no digital and no repress. a1 is, once again, reserved to chicagos underground pioneer joey kay who released his first record back in 1994. a raw house track with a neverending intro. the next track is pure deepness with another production from moscows young talent shyam. as deep and dark as russia s winters.. as usual to complete this side, the label manager, monsieur cedric, prepared a short bonus track. on the b side, the french co-founder of serie limitée, steve frisco, strikes back with a classic deep sound inspired by the early 90s after hours... ... while our friend from denmark, desos, owner of deso records, vibes ltd etc... closes the third volume of this story with a nice and deep house gem.

*it all started in 1974 with the purchase of my first mini moog and another 70s dream machine, a white mellotron m 400.* so starts klaus hoffmann of his 40 years love affair with the mellotron. moving from prog-rock guitarist to cosmic disco warrior in a space of a few years, the birth of cosmic hoffmann would lead to a number of classic kosmiche albums through-out the 1980s. before this though came space-disco. initially recorded in 1978 after endless late night sessions exploring the new realms of this free form electronic music, the first incarnation was recorded live to tape for a failed film project. an uplifting spaced-out synth journey, it was the later reworked version that would go on to become the lost cult classic. with added disco syncopation taking the track into interstellar spheres, it appeared only as a flipside of cosmic hoffmanns first and last single, *weltraumboogie*, in 1982. unfortunately the release did not make much impression at the time but has become highly sought-after for the more leftfield dj and music lovers in the years since. now fully licensed and remastered, the inclusion of the unreleased 1978 original will be only add to the collectors dream.

gacha is a young artist originally from georgia, now operating in berlin, this second ep for apollo records is an excellent six tracker that fits the apollo chillout manifesto perfectly. his music is a cinematic, glacial mix of beautiful melodies, treated guitars and tender drum programming, and two tracks on this release see him working in tandem with natalie beridze who adds her ethereal vocals for standout tracks *saysea* and *atlas*. elsewhere on the ep gacha continues the form of his last ep, working his influences from classic electronica to garage into his trademark deep and atmospheric sound.

boo williams moon mans return sees headphoniq issue its 10th release! this track comes from the same time period as boos mars track. jordan fields 1986 in the mix is classic jack. headphoniq represses stephane veras sitback & mr. feelings pink sunshine close out the ep.

robosonic has been a pivotal part of off recordings roster, their releases being highly expected every time and usually meaning instant dancefloor melting magic. with a hip hop and techno background and adding many frequent flyer miles with worldwide gig schedule, the pair shows no sign of stopping. this time is no exception, cord and sacha get back in their creative roll of sample wizardry to provide two mouth watering jams. they once again prove their love for organic sounds and reivindicate the use of the turntable as an instrument, adding that old-school vibe to their trademark beats. macho madness is quite a trip, sweet rhodes over a bouncy bassline, great sample work adding guitars and an insane speech. as always, breakdowns are intense and its impossible not to dance to the groove!for the second track, robosonic joins another off family team, mat.joe and together they go deep into their hip hop influences again working the samples as only they could, a little disco flavor, a driving bass...all the ingredients are there for another instant classic and a respectful shout out to detroit producer legend j dilla, who left the game too early. r.i.p!

trackwork ep.no.2 is headed up by a super swingy acid tinged wigout multiculture - simple but deadly on the floor. next we have the stone-age-cave-rave of a billion years ago - a clash of de-tuned vox and live dub delay edits and to round side a off - feel it warps and mangles a classic paradise garage disco sample into some dark heads-down tracky gear.

the fourth instalment of local talks series crosses all genres of house and have been delivered by producers from sweden, argentina, germany and finland. its a wide and complete mix of deep and thumping 4/4s. the opening track from combo loops a killer stevie sample over some mid-tempo electronic house beats…its pure shuga! tim vita, oliver gehrmann and xavier hirsch does a similar thing using a big voiced motown legend together with dark but jazzy house rhythms. < finnish house legend sasse (mood music) delivers a classic deep but electronic jam that definitely sets a deep mode. we finish off with a classic us garage track from argentinian producer tom noir, a real club filler with some serious breakdowns.

zex model is the project (started in september 2012) of paul von aphid, a young russian musician who re-imagining and re-modeling the classic sound of 80s wax trax and antlers bands, by adding a personal twist of his own experience living in urban dystopia.
