miami born turntablelist & producer, jesse perez, throws down a booty shaking killer house jam for edibles fourth release. what you say about my momma has been ripping up dancefloors for months since landing in eats everythings hands, so its a welcome release on the label, backed with a deadly remix from truncate. on the original mix, perez grinds out a funky and low-slung groove, its memorable vocal hook looping and chopping from side to side as the raw mpc beats and sub bass weave their magic. truncate brings his no nonsense and direct approach on the remix, carving out a dance mania style drum workout over the cut up vox (think robert armani meets armand van helden). truncate has been a hugely dependable producer for yonks via his trax on his own truncate label as well as mixes for jimmy edgar, shlomi aber and kink, and he does not disappoint here. perez wraps up the ep with boogie down brown, another slab of funk laden house goodness, blending high tension strings and rolling drums to great effect. perez has been firing out infectious house jams for labels like bpitch, dj sneaks im a house gangster and hot creations, for some time now, as well as working his own label mr. nice guy, so its a welcome addition to the edible roster for jesse perez

this is the third record of the modern house quintet. this new one features one house/deep house track (a side) and a more “detroit-atmosphere” cut on the b-side. “belle-ile” opens with a filtered piano organ which responds to a massive bassline. the second part of the track introduces gradually a flute line, a trumpet sample and a layered pad.“fountain” starts with a pad which is progressively defiltered and quickly joined by a bassline. the break introduces an acid bassline, supported by a string chord. all these elements blend together to create a detroit atmospheric vibe.

the a side delivers a techno track and a funkier one, both of which will take you on a boat trip into an infected swamp lost somewhere in southern italy. at the same time on the b side marcello’s voodoo ritual will take possession of your body with two full-house tracks. café nanà is a crazed drive of broken percussions “and vibrant field-recordings of cups and glasses banging together in a smoke-filled, sun-drenched, cafe” while waiting for my bass is a warehouse melter reminiscent of gene hunt’s rawest works.

tresvibes soundsystem, the trio of satoshi otsuki, dj pi-ge, and kikiorix, is based in tokyo and their label, vis rev set is about to kick into gear. their first release will be pressed on wax introducing the unreleased tracks from their mix cd -playground-. a-side includes a track with its original groove made of complex yet excellent minimal sound by hello?repeat soundsystem, a unit of daze maxim and jan krueger. b-side offers a minimal house track with jazzy and soulful live sound by dewalta from meander and also dj pi-ge s deep tool-track full of analogue sounds. the contents of this ep are all prominent modern minimal house tracks. you should drop them in your house set but they can really be played during any kinds of sets! they come only on vinyl!

after a two year hiatus graded is back with label founder midland at the controls and its been worth the wait. graded003 picks up where midlands 2013 drumtrak left off, left of centre club music for warehouses and basements alike. the a-side blush first aired during a particularly warm boiler room recording in milan last summer. it turned heads on the night and has garnered endless id requests on the recording ever since. stuttering rolling percussion and a synth line as bold as it is unusual make this one a very strong club tool. on the b-side outpost and holdup take a deeper turn, rich in suspense and expertly programmed drums, theyre unmistakably midland productions drawn from the more obscure corners of his sound pallet.

the 3rd release from japanese label bitta owned by japanese charisma, future terror boss dj nobu . the release is by wata igarashi who was recently featured in ra breaking through . a side, haziest just before the down deep minimalistic techno which has acid, industrial and spacey running groove and the ritual , minimalistic rhythm with distinctive breaks, looping acid bass, spacey pads which take you another world. b side, haziest just before the down 2 version remixes by semantica s core artist sverca , deeper electric groove with more experimental approach.

on the a side scm provides the perfect blend of analog synths, heavy kick drums and a badass bass line ranging from fuzzy voices to contagious latin samples. on the flip the berlin based label delivers a very rare recordings of his guest chicago’s jordan fields. these experiments were recorded directly to tape and lost till now!

cray76, joakim’s dance project, is back with a 2-track ep.
on the a-side, this is what we would call a banger here at crowdspacer. simple, stupid, raw, funky. is it a tribute to new york? not sure but the b side certainly is. to be more precise it’s a tribute to merce cunningham, the legendary choreographer, close collaborator of john cage and genius thinker who inspired the name of the label. based on a recorded lecture by merce, the eponymous track is a slow, hypnotic and organic house groove, an ode to movement and ny avant garde, because “...dancing is a visible action of life.”

we finished 2015 with a six-track jumbo ep from borrowed identity and thought we d repeat the same trick for 2016, though this time with originals from okayama-based producer keita sano. eye begins with keep an eye out, pt.2, a propulsive song that sounds like a lost contender for the knight rider theme. own signal keeps things dark, but with a spartan bleakness. the side finishes with smoker, another manic cut that ll give you chills. the flip finds keita exploring brighter sounds without losing that industrial, jagged edge. trmk is essentially a beat track that ll ignite any dance floor and fix is a herky-jerky ditty that ll get you stomping around the club like a possessed reveler. the 12inches cherry on top is think twice, a funky ass-shaker that centers around a crackly sample of crowd noise, a chopped-up disco vocal, and bouncy bass. a fiery finale for this hedonistic party.
