tango saty is a crazy dancer from klaus schulze. sounds huge on 12 inch and causes a storm of freaky dancing on the more discerning dancefloors with a wonky yet eminently groovy rhythmic structure and synth brass riffs that echo around in your head for days. when the bass drops its smiles all round. b shock r.e.r.b. is a classic piece of doomy yet uplifting cosmic elettro from london town that was a baldelli and loda play. getting increasingly hard to find on the original 12 inch and even if you do, this one is mastered with more weight and clarity

the bear family is obviously not ashamed of their thick, flowing fur which might explain why the special k dance orchestra addresses a musical ode to kinky hotshorts a midpaced space boogie tune with robo vox and gyrating space gun sounds galore hotshorts is the perfect theme fur struttin around and displaying unshaven bear legs in all their glory. the flipside holds a darker, distorted piece of funk soaked house. let it grow

if zox was a sculptor, his works would be angled and polished, simple and magically effective. no sound on this record (which is called >more fluff<, which astonishes me) hangs around too long between the acrylic clear beats, the square waves are bellied and cold as vodka from an iceberg, the higher frequencies refreshingly cool as hills in the highlands, and straight lines are the dominating theme by far. this is dance music in itself. the basses live in rich bounteousness which is strictly controlled, though. why boom it when you can bang it? perfect shapes, functional beauty and a refreshing taste will rock you.

promise land is a solid deep soulful groove created by koyla. the demo floated around the bombay itunes player for a few of weeks, we needed someone to tear this track up. we tried a couple of options it wasnt working this groove needed something killer. thats were good friend jrod indigo come into play, san fran neo soul singer decides to come into lovely vancouver to hang for a while at bombay studio hq, and thats were the story starts for this track. jrod writes and lays down his song and creates the promise land over koylas ripping hooks and players. everyone is diggin the direction, timmy comes in and throws in some backups, inhouse producers sean dimitrie and nav take all the parts and put together a b side. the awaaz mix takes the track into a late night bumping funky direction with ambient tripped out textures and hard detroit style chords. overall this is a classic style ep with a real organic disco avour, that will never die for us. koyla and jrod are true musicians and deserve the fullest respect in this genre.
