s-sens records / mhd underground are proud to present their next release, namely a killer two track affair from mehdispoz. mehdispoz is the label boss and frenchman who has worked with the likes of phil weeks and many others. he has also released on brique rouge, aa trax dj pierre label and many others and now comes correct with a top ep.

then comes analog acid, another searing track with slick, rubbery drums, spritely percussion and plenty of corrugated grooves all bottled up within. this is high tempo, high impact club music that is sure to make floors move!

the next release on first music comes from profile with a beautiful picture cover! its a musical journey and a bomb tool for the upcoming summer months! we doubt that estonian-born artist viive kuks could imagine in 1984 that her euau-forte >viljandi vaade< (trnl. view of viljandi) will be on the record sleeve of a dubtechno record in 2015. moreover, that the birthplace of the music is also viljandi and that the graphics plate was stolen during turbulent times when a lot of countries were liberated. it was quite an off-chance and hard to believe that profile found a copy of the work at his grandparents place, framed and photographed the work for his 2nd vinyl release. and here it is, through countless threads and connections, through the memories of our forefathers. pure liberation.

THE VIDEO DEAD

dear wanderer, ramona is happy to present the video dead, chinaski s debut-ep for live at robert johnson. originally hailing from the high north of germany, rostock near the rough and stormy sea, the young man with interests in 80s video-aesthetics and vintage synthesizers is now calling offenbach his hometurf. chinaskis ep starts out with time to kill, a straight forward hypnotizing jacker directly heading to the synthesized happiness. midnight workout features a different side to the young talent sensitive placed synth harmonies packed in a vintage-pop interlude. after a journey through more harmonious domains, night school turns the page again and picks up on those synth-waves and put ramona away from her calm drive through the midnight heat, right on the dancefloor mesmerizing analogue deep housevibes all over the place.hide society steps out of context and mixes chinaskis affection for the warmth of these marvelous synth-sounds with trippy post-breaking or even proto-hiphop sounds topped off with a weird vocal sample. the titletrack the video dead summons all emotional power ramona could implant into a synthesizer, the heartbeat like reduced kick-drum and hihats floating around the track are mostly incidental or not even there for the ears. purely visual.

the people behind the amazing mareh festival in brasil (the southern hemisphere s answer to electric elephant), drop yet more top drawer music as their label journey continues to gain strength. set in the lush settings of bahia where day blends into night and sun into moon, mareh continues to attract some first class artists from around the world to release on their imprint. the second release kicks off with glasgow based production wizard the revenge letting loose a late night groove that takes a blissful string sample and then works it for the dance floor. it s top stuff from the man with the roaring grooves. and rumours have it that the revenge himself will be headlining at this year s legendary nye event in bahia alongside tim sweeney, pete herbert & dicky trisco. next up is berlin based disco and house aficionado eddie c who drops an uber cool, cut up disco chugger that is likely to work your sunset and early morning sets to the max. mareh favourite pete herbert then steps up to the controls and delivers an upbeat, balearic dance floor banger that hits all the right notes and then hits them again. you can almost smell the hierbas on this one! last but not least, tokyo based englishman max essa delivers an electronic ode to late night dancing and early morning dips as he joins the dots between the tokyo underground and the fresh bahian surf. wonderful stuff. so mareh really are out to pull in a truly global sound to their label outing with glasgow, berlin, london, ibiza and tokyo all represented as well as their spiritual homelands sao paulo, and of course the place where it all happens each new year... bahia.

deep disco warrior the revenge turns in an epic hypnotic mix of slow burning house nailed down by analogue bass and acid. using a filtered vocal it builds slowly as the bottom end is tweeked towards a mesmeric journey through minimal wigged out disco. sleazy mcqueen and romano arcaini turn in a disco inflected house mix with congas, spaces out synths and enough dynamics to keep any dancefloor bubbling. it builds with added percussion and a filtered pad before the lead hits the break and the track comes back in with even more wallop. drug empire is an original off the album and has had support from the likes of rune lindbaek, crazy p’s hot toddy and horse meat disco. said to be inspired by theo parrish’s productions it’s a delicious slice of bass driven deep disco with a nod to the looser end of detroit and chicago. it’s all about the fully locked in three note analogue moog bass which holds down the grooved out drums before breaking to jazzy rhodes at the end. one for the heads.

*uk treatment* kicks and thumps in all the right places, with a stuttering synth stab loop and vocals giving it some serious peak time currency. *spleen* is all sludgy, skittering mpc business, while *rules* goes off-key chicago and *total recall 2084* swims around, pestered in the mud until a lonely, droning piano key scares away the flanged swarm of wasps and noise.

vilod = ricardo villalobos & max loderbauer
it is a smart and airy groove of atoms in space that rules this mesmerizing album, leading off with an irresistibly deconstructed downbeat monstrosity deceptively tagged as the modern hit midget as opposed to actually being a giant. one giant of seven, to be precise: safe in harbour are the seven giants of free funk who proceed through a variety of way-out psychedelicacies. which increase in flavour under headphones. the wane of villalobos and loderbauers free-floating energy of their re:ecm work is more than offset here by the increase in rhythmic push through sensual syncopation and eruptive bass energy. the duo is the impetus in perlons great new swinging machine....

THE FURNACES SERIES PART ONE

16.06.15
the furnace series is a two-part compilation of music inspired by a special room in the montreal apartment shared by booma collective from 2012-2014. when venues to throw parties became scarce, booma used this room leading to the fire escape in the back of the apartment known as the furnace as a space for small gatherings among close friends. the furnace series is a collection of memories of those intimate parties and impromptu jam sessions. part one features four tracks by booma collective founders and friends, beginning with psyche, a hypnotic, dub-techno inspired composition with oscillating, piercing sounds, evoking whistling flurries. solparas garden in the furnace echoes the hollowed-out concrete architecture of the furnace itself, filling up then emptying its atmosphere with layered drum machines and ghostly voices. cf01 is the result of feedback experimentation carefully arranged into a slow tribal jam. oren ratowsky. producer of booma collectives first vinyl release, rounds off the b side with gorby, an eleven and a half minute exploration of his mastery of analog synthesizers.
