die vierte single der 50weapons r.i.p.serie ist eine französisch polnische kollaboration zwischen bambounou und margaret dygas. die angesehene perlon-künstlerin debütiert mit ihrem minimalistischen gastbeitrag popular religions auf 50weapons, und wird dafür mit der wahl des perfekt dazu passenden bambounou abschiedstracks see you soon belohnt.

nach einem fulminanten debütalbum, das sowohl dancefloors der welt als auch kritiker außer atem ließ, kehrt jeremy guindo aka bambounou nun mit *centrum* in albumlänge zurück. guindo benutzt verspielte electro-synths (echter electro, siehe detroit), die den hörer in einen trance-zustand versetzen, der durch die peitschenden percussions von tracks wie *each other* gestört wird. im gegensatz zu *orbiting* bewegt sich *centrum* eher weg von bass und footwork und hin zu ambient und techno. *centrum* ist keine reine clubplatte, die von vorn bis hinten mit brettern vollgestopft ist (obwohl fähige djs trotzdem viel stoff finden werden), dennoch werden auch die *orbiting* fans wieder begeistert sein. das doppel-vinyl erscheint im klappcover, inklusive poster und downloadcode.

unser lieblingsfranzose und mann für die dancefloor-euphoria meldet sich mit zwei floorburnern zurück, die er bereits in seinem boiler room-set in paris im september 2013 einsetzte und dessen ergebnis auf mehreren youtube-videos festgehalten ist. beide tunes werden auch von anderen djs viel support erhalten: in der panorama bar über die strände kroatiens bis zurück nach paris!

the latest outing on will & ink is a remix ep that finds parisian producers bambounou and simo cell team up for four reworked versions of yaleesa halls woodall lp. both artists are known for their releases on 50 weapons, livity sound and wisdom teeth. right here, on will & ink, two solo outings with another two collaborated remixes on the b-side showcase their dubbed out, stripped back and paranoid dark parisian trademark sound. their very specific sound sounds like little else and is a solid match with yaleesa hall and the amsterdam imprint as this ep proves.

in the space of two short years shlømo has quickly established himself alongside the likes of marcelus, bambounou, francois x and the antinote records crew as a key figure in paris’ current techno generation. having established his own taapion records label in 2013 and built a roster around a core of local producers including roman poncet, pvnv and antigone, in addition to enlisting stephen brown, conforce and sterac as remixers for the label’s releases so far. for its fifth release, bright sounds - run by fellow parisian kennedy smith - revisits last year’s rechaïm ep (bsrx003), with a trio of remixers offering their own takes on shlømo’s established deep and expansive sound. first up is the aforementioned 50 weapons artist bambounou, who offers a dynamic groove-based version of the title track that bounces along an elastic kick drum with cut-up fragments of the original’s atmospheric pads providing further impetus. label owner kennedy smith takes on theory is the worst by bringing its dub textures to the for while filling the track’s empty spaces with intricate drum patterns. finally, italian techno pioneer donato dozzy turns grounded queen into a classic dozzy slow-burning techno trip, with his trademark layered sound complimenting the track’s subtle rhythmic backbone.

its that time again at ccb headquarter for reaping the harvest of another good year for the label. the paris club music, volume 3 is here and the journey is better than ever. once again the full crew worked hard to deliver this time a more contemplative yet still percussive set of tracks exploring the dance music of tomorrow. first in the field bambounou and french fries teams up for mizu ni idou suru an intimate slow mo thing playing with intricate rhythm textures and dusty key stabs fading away in the back.

white asega co-­owner jack dixon wrote new curtains after a friend who was coming wildly off the rails told him he was a good producer but his tunes were boring. the original version was really sparse and about 300bpm. when jack moved to new york the parts got lost, so he remade the track a dozen times. this was the version we all liked best, although jack never wants to hear it again in his life. it sounds tough and tropical. our friend troy gunner remixed it, and turned it into something so loud and slamming it will knock your teeth out. after telling jack to stop making boring music, mark kodiak spent two horrendous years working with jamie kodiak on a song they ve called taargus. it nearly destroyed their friendship forever but we think it was worth it. it has brutal weapon sounds, nasty snares and an incessant “yo” that has been described as “annoying and unnecessary”. the artist tom pounder has created a blinding video for it that contains brand new colours. french born bass genius bambounou stepped up to remix the track, taming the wild stems into a hypnotic early­morning house stepper. it took us approximately 2000 exhausting facebook group chats, four cross­atlantic flights and one divorce to get to this point. we hope you will enjoy this record for the rest of your lives. rip ken tulley.
