evod music is glad to share the first physical ep by syntaxism. five tracks made of suspended electrical particles and strong grooves. “onar” is a genuine techno track that contains an acid sequence accompanied by various sound weavings. “yapar” is characterized by the combination of various bleep textures, perfectly superimposed on high frequencies raids.the b side represents the introverted world of syntaxism, made of mysticism and mystery. “complesso k” and “processo s” are two hypnotizing, utopian tracks, both ones are the result of the sum of so many electrical layers in continuous transformation. “ispezione visiva” is the perfect outro. an elegant, relaxing sequence is fused with excited bleeps and an infinite drone.

if you are wondering what the artist wanted to tell you by choosing this title, we will give you a small hint: it’s a cynical statement on something that for sure every party promoter has experienced at some point. the rest, we will leave up to your imagination… in real life, there’s no mercy – neither is when it comes to the sound of this new snork release by syntax error. the four new tracks with meaningful names are not only a social criticism and another artistic processing of the current development of the techno scene, but also a classic syntax error: rough, tricky and good to groove. each track stands on its own, telling another story. “collateral cosmopolitan” is a straight forward piece with a highly memorable beat talking about the uniformity that is creeping in the waiting lines of more and more techno clubs. “i wear my grandpa’s glasses” presents a totally dodgy sound, which might be a little oldschool and even a little irritating – just like some fashion items you encounter on today’s big city streets. “no fog is no solution” is a tight song that definitely needs some good fog and a harsh strobe. and finally, the last track sounds like a futuristic fairy tale from outer space looking on the world as if it is a “society bathysphere”.

in 1996, jason maccreadie aka jace syntax teamed up with neighbor john morrison aka blackjack and began spinning some of the rawest acid house and techno tracks known to glasgow. pioneering the purest brands of detroit and chicago house music, the duo helped to establish a fundamental movement in scotland paving the way for many top nights and future big name djs. the formidable partnership continues to revolutionize the house music scene introducing their first vinyl collaboration, syntax.

touched by records third release comes from the boy wonder, joe syntax, with the eagerly awaited track sentinels. backed with a circa remix, this release has seen support from the likes of loxy, data, chris octane and dlr. both joe and circa have been involved with the hospital records off shoot label med school. they continue to grow from strength to strength, as they both continue to deliver their unique ideas. these great tracks hint at the brilliance that is yet to come from these young and exciting artists.

stephen laubner never fails to deliver the goods, whether on his own label something or elsewhere. having recently popped up on the untold stories, this time around hes dropping his uniquely crusty compositions on synthetic gold. after a quietly disconcerting ambient opening, the leftfield grind of the taphead pushes an uncompromising agenda of ragged bass and an unrelenting groove. october sunrise by way of contrast is a more intimate, sweet natured affair. syntax error too taps into the softer side of laubner s craft in a most mesmerizing of ways, but for the die hard fans fear not, there s also plenty of locked groove loops included to keep you tripping into infinity.

both camelia and the sports label step into the light for the first time with an ambitious double-pack release that promises much for the future. praxis is a stunning ambient piece that opens the record with glacial drones and subtle ripples of percussive sound before syntax locks things down to a crisp minimal house groove laced with eerie atmospherics. mihai poi meanwhile goes to town on a long form remix on the b side, turning syntax into a warm and playful thing. camelia does her own lengthy turn with the title track on side c, and then sublee drops a snappy electro version as the finishing move on side d.

mr.rooge is back for the first time on gosu showing that he isn t only a skilled house/techno producer but also can go different ways experimenting with breaky electro-like styles to form the second installment on the label. he s accompanied by an yet unknown japanese technician named dj yue who is in charge to bring it back to funky techno terms with his remix contribution.
