a full length lp by ruins, an italian electro-wave duo. ruins formed in mestre in 1978 with the intention of experimenting with electronic devices and mixed media. they mainly created music out of self-expression without any intention of joining the mainstream. interested in multimedia, they had a strong visual aesthetic apparent via their album art, videos and projections. its where italo meets minimal wave. the -fire- videos are a must-see in order to grasp the full effect of the song, check out the first version here and rare second version here. the lp entitled -the art dance- features a collection of songs recorded between 1980-1984, some previously released, others never released before pressed on 180 gram vinyl and housed in a lovely hand-numbered glossy gatefold jacket lined with the bands history and photos, and accompanied by a lyrics insert sheet. tip!

roman ruins is the brainchild of graham hill. his sound combines elements of indie pop, electro-shoegaze, and hip-hop. draped in structure, you will most certainly count yourself among his legion of fans after landing a copy of the inaugural gold robot records release.

this record is the result of a collaboration between roman ruins (graham hill) and the artist hunter mack. originally launched as a kickstarter project which financed this two-song 7 inch vinyl record along with a limited art print, it is now available to the general public.

3 new edits by mike simonetti of italians do it better. three post punk jammers put to wax. part one of his mike series. mike decided not to go the typical route and edit rare baleric tracks or unknown boogie. instead he went into his past as a punk and did some re edits of post punk gems. you may recognize some of these toons. he promises to bust out the rare joints next time.
