bionda e lupo are like little you ll have heard before, a boy/girl band like no other. synth wave is fed a line of modern alienation, delusory disco to a disdainful drum beat, house emptied and ridiculed. rhythms are stark, melodies are as mechanical as the lyrics. -zug der vogel- is sparse, vocals intertwine in an empty embrace whilst bars sparkle. -twoi glasza- is more playful. bright words shimmer against sweeping strings. the past is parodied across the ep but nowhere more so than in -die kinder aus dem park.- a former classic dug out before being peppered by machine gun percussion. the stilted rhyme of -eckstein- closes, a ballad of bittersweet images and lost hopes.

im sommer ist house im grunde die bessere popmusik. chris manura, als langjähriger resident des distillery club in leipzig von jeher verantwortlich für ein massives soundfundament, und boe van berg-sänger alexander boedewig, der mit dem westbalkonia-projekt schon seine affinität zu elektronischen sounds offenbarte, treffen sich zuweilen in einem abgelegenen garten in der mitte deutschlands und tüfteln an melancholischunprätentiösen popsongs. lupo nennt sich das projekt der beiden und „farbenfroh und hell - eine hommage an sorgenfreie, gleichsam solitäre tage - ist ihre erste single, deren unbeschwerter sehnsuchtscharakter sowohl die berliner watergate-haudegen ruede hagelstein und fraenzen texas aka the cheapers als auch labelchef gunne persönlich begeisterte, um mit ihren remixen aus pop house und aus house wieder pop zu machen. ist halt sommer...
