fango’s new ep series enters into its second instalment with “urano 2/3”, continuing the journey of this trilogy dedicated to te god of the sky.

after a steady stream of successful underground dance-floor stables via his viscera ep series and last year climbing charts with his remixes, fango returns with his second album titled gea. set for release this forth-coming may 11th via degustibus music, gea is a 10-track trip of eclectic electronica panning across various moods and tempos. flexings his matured production credits, fango fuses rock, disco and psychedelic influences, meticulously put together on his machines resulting in a spectrum of sounds to satisfy most palettes. it’s a serenade from gea to ouranos, the greek gods of earth and sky.

a solid dome of brass and stars stretched as far as earth’s edges, home to the greek god of sky ouranos and back-drop for his mystical relation with gea and his prophesying of the titans. single-sided pressing.

while producing the viscera trilogy, fango has tried to understand something about himself. in order to do this, he had to enter into his own body, just like dante entered hell, studying and analysing himself from the inside, diving through organs, guts and grey matter. did it work? yes and no, depending how you look at it. for sure, it helped him in the creation of 3 devastating and introspective eps, but a lot of questions are still unsolved. viscera part 3 is the last leg of a journey that disrupted your 2016 and marks the beginning of a new absurd phase for fango, but this is another story. for the time being we leave you with amnios, metacarpo and metulla. this is viscera 3/3.

soft bangers and beatless movements from brooklyn­ based producer umfang, following up last years 1080p ­released cassette “ok” with the five track “riffs” 12”. this vinyl debut finds her tripping on ambient and rediscovering the microkorg that she tried to sell but started experimenting with again. these five vivid tracks are a logical progression from the previous polyrhythmic techno—footwork thoughts, avoiding 4/4 and textured with imagery, simple melodies and landscape ­invoking sensations. umfang is emma olson, prolific dj, co­-founder of discwoman and programmes technofeminism, a monthly residency at bossa nova civic club focusing on emerging local talent and an affection for vinyl.
