italian legend francesco farfa debuts on memento with “synchronicity 13”, with remix honours and duties left to m.r.e.u.x. and the analogue cops. farfa s long-lasting original track is a dancefloor skyrocket designed with skilful craftmanship. the humonguos drums and the driving bass line stockpile the explosive potential of a synthetic flock of sound, eventually becoming unwordly bloops pierced by evocative strings. the analogue cops rework the evocative potential of the original with a raw jacking grab in their “dance of the condor remix”, anchoring a biting kick drum and an highly corrosive acid bass. finally, m.r.e.u.x delivers his “green trip mix”, a very effective minimalistic reinterpretation, built on pounding rhythms and hypnotic sequences.

vinyl only ... memento is proud to announce a brand new maxi-single of the extraordinary lithuanian producer mario basanov, better known as ten walls. with this moniker, marijus adomaitis has been releasing a bunch of deep house gems, and has remixed artists such as robert owens and hercules & love affair -swan- begins with a smoky dramatic introduction, that in a rapid glance become a obscure minimalistic dancefloor killer with a grueling bass line and unremitting hi-hats. finally taking off with a gust of monochromatic sequences and a whirl of dampings. in -lake-, after a dense windy evocative prelude, metallic percussion leave the footprint to the headway of a stomping kick drum and a mesmerizing bass line. sedately flowing synthetic notes, filtered bleeps and rapid beads lead the track to a grandiose finale in which whiffle and wafts become an ubiquitous polyphonic pad.

eduardo de la calle brings back to memento his trademark analogue sounds and musical experimentations with the golden archives 1 ep. two tracks that once again define the spanish mavericks personal hybrid of detroit techno and european electronica, veering into psychedelic territory and progressive rhythms, and continuing to explore the outer limits of the underground scene. * missing you (edit)*s chants and deep soulful atmospherics build up with emotional piano melodies, while * quasicalligraphic*s mechanical stabs and ghostly synths are accompanied by spectral percussions and melancholic chords.

after remixing idriss d’s “alger”, eduardo de la calle returns to memento records with a 2 tracker. the spanish vinyl maestro, analog solutions label owner and beatz documentary maker delivers 2 majestic cuts of deep techno at its best, inspired by the early ricardo villalobos music released on kanzleramt or playhouse some 15 years ago. following the same ideas of building and de-constructing sound patterns made up of pure minimal elements, eduardo here tries to be as simple as he can: direct and repetitive, back and forth non stop compositions that take on a life of their own as they expand and contract. the ep was made in a week of intense and mesmerizing studio work. * die einführung* is a 10 minute number where korg poly 61 arpeggios and spellbinding melodies draw the listener down a psychedelic hole of frequency shiftings and lysergic percussions. * sonst werden* is built around hazy chords and ghostly vocal snippets soaked in a feedback of tape delay, sinister ambient sounds vibrating in the background.
