if we add a new label to electronic music, is it really needed, wasnt music originally unlabeled? - lads contemporary productions could be called anticipated techno, architect techno, or architechno. these two tracks are simply brilliant and beyond what i have heard to date. the way lad is building space procures the feeling to be part of the music, to be in it, swallowed by it. >isolate< and >bergvall< are just two hypnotizing masterpieces, transporting you into unknown and untamed territories. deep, soulful, cinematographic, intriguing, moving. my drug is music. from 2d to real 3d chills. vanina hänin woods, forests, deep and dark spaces, like if kubrick, kurosawa and marinetti would have gathered together to produce music, simply highly cinematographic and futuristic. lad builds up organic visions, redefying sound in such a personal way. definitively two superb, soulful, finely shaped and constructed electronic pieces which will undoubtedly make you dance the night away. koehler returns to berceuse heroique with his third release for the label. contra blood invokes the spirit of early no u turn records, infusing some techno dynamics, creating a very interesting anthem for people who don’t care about boundaries in dance music. flammarion breach combines his classic ‘ardcore techno sound with a repetitive arpeggio that recalls the tension of some of the best film scores by john carpenter. with rotating rupees, koehler delivers another beautiful ambient tune and this time its his ode to zelda.

end of level boss records is a joint project from tusk and cyclonix celebrating the world of video game technostalgia through electronic music. end of level boss 1 ganondorf. ganondorf is the humanoid form of ganon, the ultimate embodiment of evil and hatred, the nemesis of link, and the final boss in many of the legend of zelda games. ganondorf is a formidable sorcerer and a shapeshifter. his hatred is so intense that he can survive even the total obliteration of his body and remain conscious. an ultimate bad ass.

following their last 12 inch from nightwave, svetlana industries remain in their eastern european heartland with a long awaited ep from 1000names, the bulgarian production duo who made their debut alongside rustie on the now legendary >beatnicks< ep back in 2007. the >machine city< ep follows 2010s album and ep for black acre, as well as mixing for mary anne hobbs on radio 1 and recommendations in pitchfork. the ep marks a development from 1000names, taking giant steps on from their base in the beats scene towards a new sound, taking influence from giorgio moroder and analogue synth disco to imagine a future both optimistic and dystopian. it is like john carpenter meets hip hop and it is as good as that sounds.

midnight surprise is the beautifully epic second single from lightspeed champion, a truly unique 10 minute track from the forthcoming debut album. available on limited lavender coloured vinyl. with humorous references to his own stage name, the popular video game the legend of zelda and to sexual frustration, midnight surprise is a dreamlike hook laden tale in 3 parts. backing vocals are courtesy of emmy the great and group vocals from members of tilly and the wall, son ambulance and other musicians from omaha, nebraska where the album was recorded with producer mike mogis. it features 2 b sides, no surprise (original demo) and flesh failures (let the sunshine in), which is a beautiful rendition of the widely known track from the musical hair.
