berlin based label schakal’s second release ‘minos’ is a collaboration between producers mallone and arne spremberg and includes a remix from finnish veteran sasse. the ep is centered around the theme of electricity, with arne and mallone jamming together on analogue gear to create a charged dancefloor energy. the pair have been friends for many years and their connection is truly palpable.

the french duo of eric guillanton and seb fouble are remote, a pair charged with serving up the next release on the ever-excellent meant label. this twosome has been active for more than a decade now, releasing lps and eps on labels like kill the dj, zone and fondation as well of course meant to which they return now two years after their label debut. here they serve up two new ghetto tinged, darkened electro tracks that come complete with remixes from fairmont and headman.

the first track on the b side is from yxan, which is micheal idehall’s techno alias. michael is a multi-talented artist who leads a publishing house called belzebez that also features many of his own artworks and has had releases on prominent labels such as ant-zen.
next up is necropants a producer who enjoys roaming around graveyards and and seeking out ancient burial mounds. the last track on the b side was created by bellatrix?, an up and coming producer from verona, italy who has recently released an excellent ep on the veleno viola imprint. bellatrix? also heads a tape label called culto verona.

the reload and global communications remixes of tracks originally released as mystic institute. some amazing productions by mark pritchard and tom middleton which sounds still as fresh and exciting as almost 15 years ago. especially the global communication >ob-selon minos < is such an amazing piece of music!! smooth melodies with incredibly beautiful sounds really seduce the listener to go thru this 15 minute journey... and even that seems like only 3 minutes when they are over.
