die inspiration für sein neues album -mirapolis- bezog der französische produzent rone seiner leidenschaft für den filmklassiker -metropolis- sowie seinem wunsch, kultregisseur michel gondry zu treffen, der für rone das albumcover entwarf. das ergebnis ist ein cineastisches meisterwerk, an dessen entstehung eine vielzahl von prominenten gastmusikern teilnahm, darunter john stanier (battles), bryce dessner (the national), die französische death-metal-band vacarme band, avantgardist gaspar claus, us-slam-poet saul williams, baxter dury (sohn des legendären ian dury), die israelische elektronikerin noga erez sowie blonde redhead-sängerin kazu makino.
