cocoon recordings presents a freaked out deep techno highlight by two masters of their craft: gregor tresher & petar dundov! especially the a-side spike is a crazy monster and we do not exaggerate by writing that we have never heard something like this by these two masterminds before. mental, hypnotic and with a neverending synth firework that modulates with an endless release effect. the two really pushed electronic dance music at least ten steps further. tresher & dundov second mutual work on cocoon recordings follows with differentiator. the two stick to the basic concept of spike however this time it is the good old arpeggio that keeps on modulating until eternity. differentiator almost flows with a little trance appeal and there is even a cool and driving acid bassline giving us the final push. tresher & dundov present us two massive techno tunes that will definitely play in their own league this season!

oniris returns with new ep on astropolis records. this 4-track maxi includes a gregor tresher remix and has been composed with the same ingredients that made his the fame of the producer: a melodic techno and a smooth universe in which groove accents coexist with more obscure sounds.

today gregor returns home with two slamming new tracks, both of which are the result of hours of tweaking and testing whilst on the road this summer. midas is built around a stripped back single-riff groove. minimal elements and maximum effect show that gregor still has that midas touch. on the flip and easily living up to its name is disturber. its snarling synth takes centre stage, intimidating and unsettling. but as the kick drum thumps and the intensity builds, disturber suddenly returns to the dark shadows.

for our first campaign together we bring you their next vinyl release, featuring music from some of the labels regular contributors. microtune & takter were the duo behind concorde clubs very first release and today they combine their love of impulsive beats and deep bass with beautifully melancholic latin samples on >trista pena< and >bazaar<. on the flip gregor sultanow presents two superb cuts. matching deep throbbing bass and sax on >jazz cafe< and wobbling dubby goodness on >kiezfrühstück<. all four tracks brilliantly complement each other, making this a strong summer bound ep. perfect for the after-hours or open air parties.

subtlety is not the first word used in connection with most djs, but there is much more the métier of germany s gregor tresher than simply playing records, as lights from the inside attest: just as a painting or photograph appears to move if one stares at it long enough, with close listening the stratified grooves and melodies assembled on gregor s stunning third full-lenght artist album reveal an organic universe of shifting sound. meticulous attention to the latter element—melody—was of utmost concern to the frankfurt resident. not obvious, eight-bar earworms that would quickly exhaust their welcome, but musical lines that could repeat, develop and intertwine in different patterns. in this regard, lights from the inside harks back to gregor tresher s earlier releases, but as always his sound aesthetic continues to evolve in new directions.
