in 1996 the schwerin hardcore-posse started their party series arounddoomsday in the busch club in schwerin, germany. a few years later the djs and producers milo, andi & lonely freek lived their techno-gabber parties in the most famous clubs of the republic and released 6 vinyl releases internationally under their label of the same name doomsday records from 2002 to 2008. untergrund ist untergrund is the last vinyl pressing of the guys with a clear message beyond the mainstream.

creme organization returns in july with four searing electro cuts from dutchman ekman. mixing up west coast electro with tougher, more textured techno styles in recent releases for berceuse heroique and bedouin record, this artist is as much about the past as the future and proves that across this new and impressive set of tracks. doomsday argument is not as dark as you would expect form the name: its a lithe and slippery electro affair with crisp snares and gurgling bass all topped off by a freaky top line. the great filter mixes up distorted bass with rippling glass synths and sounds both spooky and cosmic, then post singularity day picks up the pace with a quick and urgent drexcyian style that is restless, dynamic and busy. last of all antifragile is a wild acid workout with rocking beats and ripping 303s that twitch every nerve in your body.

repress - from his early days as zev love x to his reinvention as a masked supervillain leading the indie hip-hop revolution, lyrical savant mf doom has remained one of the most interesting figures in the rap universe. while most fans already worship classic albums like “operation doomsday”, “mm...food”, and “madvillainy”, doom’s output also includes a number of guest appearances, non-album singles, promo tracks, and other rarities that never made it onto an official release. now, those tracks are finally available on “unexpected guests”, a limited-edition vinyl collection showcasing rare mf doom material. included are collaborations with the likes of talib kweli, j dilla, ghostface killah, sean price, count bass d, vast aire, masta killa, and more. many of these tracks have never been available on vinyl before, making “unexpected guests” an essential addition to doom’s already impressive catalog.

we are not where we live, but the valley we built enjoyment through suffering. beauty in chaos. african ghost valley apply these principles to create their heavy doomsday electronics pulled in from the black bunker a d.i.y space under a multi-story car-park. separated from any scene on the surface, the record was put together by european / canadian duo childle grangier and gabriel ghebrezghi a partnership formed in the heat of heavily improvised recording sessions, where the pair would thrash out their versions of power electronics, industrial waste drops and rhythmic dub rumble to the cities homeless. keeping these raw fnal cuts away from any studio trickery, the microphone would be left on to archive feld recordings and wayward audio drops, capturing the hum and lifeblood of the bunker and the wheezing lungs of the dense concrete that surrounded them. titling this work colony, the album is a open-ended and multi-edged tool for agv to explore, allowing the listener to interpret the work as they see ft, bringing to mind images of corroded space settlements and the darkest recess of human history. you decide.

get physical is proud to announce the release of the first ever album from chicago house luminary dj pierre. entitled wild pitch: the story, it collects originals and remixes old and new, and stands as a testament to the unique skill of one of dance musics most important figures. famously, dj pierre as good as invented the squelch of acid house when playing with his roland tr-303 drum machine as part of phuture back in the late eighties. from there he went on to clock up more than 200 credits under aliases like doomsday, prime one, raving lunatics, ac!d face, dj pierres afro acid project and many more. he also became famous for the wild pitch mixes and alias that lend this album its name: they were characterised by long intros, layer upon layer of strings, repetitive vocal samples, and filtered hypnotic sounds on hard beats. working with labels like strictly rhythm, trax, king street, nite grooves, international deejay gigolo and more recently get physical, pierre has contributed hugely to the global evolution of house music for thirty years plus. this is a timely reminder of that and one that is jam packed with essential tunes that, old or new, still sound impossibly fresh. included is a cover version of donna summers classic and pioneering disco cut ‘i feel love. it is a 9 minute masterpiece of loose drums, wild acid lines and synthesised squelches that build and build before the vocal arrives and carries you away to the stars

sydney’s post pluto are back with the debut no doors ep from riggles, a four track blend of crunchy beats and dusty house grooves. doomsday takes us back to 99 with a sun drenched edit of the classic mf doom beat. shine follows with a bass heavy groove and stretched out vocals. on the flip, perfect day gets moody with textured drums and back alley sax solos. sydney duo, sonderr, are on remix duties with a melancholic approach to shine, bringing it to a darker club atmosphere.

zweieinhalb jahre nach rhondas debütalbum -raw love- erscheint am 27.01.2017 der nachfolger -wire- auf pias germany. das quintett hat seine mischung aus groovigen beats, lässigem soul mit sixties-vibe und perlenden melodien verfeinert, die punk-wurzeln aber keinesfalls vergessen. so klingt -wire- dann auch teils cineastisch und deutlich düsterer als der vorgänger, was nicht zuletzt an der beteiligung des deutschen filmorchesters babelsberg bei einigen songs liegt! die zusammenarbeit begann im november letzten jahres, als rhonda ein angebot bekam, mit dem filmorchester ein konzert in potsdam zu spielen, welches prompt ausverkauft war! schon dort probierte man einige der neuen songs aus, und es wurde allen klar, diese stücke sollten genau in dieser besetzung für das neue album eingespielt werden.
