we introduce comfort zone, a young producer from montreal, who has been making music for around 7 years now. he is inspired by “music from late 90s/early 00s video game soundtracks and the occasional snippets of electronic music i heard as a kid”. we find that statement very much reflected in this release, as he masters the challenge of blending mysterious samples and different styles to form harmonious compositions. on one side of the 4-track ep we have 2 groovy house tracks, reminiscent of early 2000s house by the likes of lance desardi, ian pooley and atjazz, on the other side 2 classic jungle tracks which uphold our tradition of releasing timeless music.

the next release on leading french label zone is a very special one indeed from long time friend of the label and pioneering electro figure kittin, the artist formerly known as miss kittin. her standout original comes with an equally impressive remix from truncate. a long time stalwart of the electroclash scene who has put out many seminal singles, kittin has famously collaborated with the hacker and felix da housecat and mixed up new wave and techno in arresting new ways for decades. her albums have always been hailed as hugely accomplished and the prolific and innovative frenchwoman has worked with numerous top labels. now back once more in 2018 with her first solo single in some time, she is in fine form. her offering here, ‘eacid’, is a timeless piece of deep techno with brain melting bass and twinkling yet menacing keys. her own vocals are twisted and chopped up into wordless forms that add layers of intrigue and the whole thing is brilliantly broody. a breakdown at the mid point allows you to catch your breath as her voice refracts round the airwaves, then the icy hi hats and rumbling drums and bass land again with subtly uplifting, light emitting chords rising in the background. all in all, this is one of kittin’s most special and evocative tracks of recent times. remixing is truncate, the deep techno artist who runs a label of the same name and has released his killer wares on 50weapons. his version is more wild and flailing, with the keys becoming more manic, the drums darting about all over the place and the voice becoming more paranoid and trippy.

pleasure zone is happy to present you the second release by jakob seidensticker, sand & boronas. the los hermanos ep is the follow up to the big day ep from this furious trio. worth to check!

psychick visions from a dystopic parallax, closely mapped and cognate to the occupied plane we recognise but littered with nuanced distortions, twisting certainty just past the assured facade of familiar... for its inaugural release mirror zone unveils a repressing of an overlooked ep from uk artist memphis way back when in 1994. we re delivered complex, mystic rhythms nodding to the likes of pwog, paradise 3001 and sabres of paradise, the unique breakbeat-tweaked, tribal-trance epitiomising early 90s output from labels like kk, go bang!, dream and esp records.

max romeo has teamed up with uk based, grammy nominated producer daniel boyle, to create a stunning return to form, roots reggae album with accompanying dub versions. max is noted for his critically acclaimed work with lee scratch perry in the 1970 s, and for his timeless classic songs penned over the last 50 years - such as war ina babylon melt away one step forward and the worlds most sampled reggae song ever - chase the devil . picked up by artists such jay z, kanye west, the prodigy and blockbuster hit movies. max and daniel have teamed up with an all-star cast of musicians to create a true part 2, to max’s legendary, ‘’war ina babylon’’ album. using strictly studio equipment ranging from between the 1950’s – 1970’s, recorded and mixed in 100% analogue format, and presented with stunning artwork in physical format.

jane oak is a paris-based dj and techno producer. she grew up listening to detroit pioneers, jeff mills, robert hood and blake baxter whom greatly influenced her work. in her first ep low pressure zone with caduceus records, she unveils a dark minimalistic universe, intensified by sharp beats and hypnotic melodies. an audacious ep for this young belgian producer.

zone look to irish artist and esteemed electro producer defekt aka matthew flanagan for their next ep. over the years this artist has become synonymous with proper techno and electro. his hardware based sound has won him fans all over the world and chief amongst those records is the 2010 mini album he released and which got hammered by legends like dave clarke. working on combat recordings, signal code and electronic explorations amongst others, his rugged drum sounds and modular synth style is textured and real and for that reason always stands out.

pleasure zone welcomes dubfound aka dima kulakovsky to the family! dubfound is a chisinau based producer & dj. co-owner of vinyl only labels swoon and nurum music. he s releasing his tracks on labels like sleep is commercial, cadenza, vinyl club, fox trax. diving deeper he creates his side project under a name jezellic with crispy experimental and minimalistic sound picture.

as one of fuse s original residents, rich nxt played a major part in the brand s evolution, helping take it from that sunday morning afters to being one of the most respected event brands and labels on the planet ever since the age of 10, rich nxt has been involved in creating his own music. thanks to his early training as both a drummer and keyboardist, nxt has an inherent musicianship fully apparent in his sound and style of production. taking influence from the london rave scene of the early 90s spanning drum n bass and jungle and later the minimal and tech-house scenes of europe, nxt s output found a platform on the now world-class fuse london label (launched in 2011). a core artist for the label, with five solo eps and a collaboration alongside seb zito, rich nxt has been integral to fuse s trademark sound with his debut ep bristle and quixotic ep two of the labels defining moments. nxt and zito s chemistry in the studio is clear with a further two collaborations on fuse sister label infuse. alongside his own productions, nxt s remix catalogue includes seb zito s never with enzo siragusa and his original breakthrough remix of jon maker s seeker , which was championed by tini and many other leading djs in the minimal house scene. by the end of 2016, a residency at amnesia ibiza with hyte x fuse alongside dates at off week in barcelona and several stand out events on fuse s 8th birthday tour including an epic after hours set at berlin s hoppetosse proved nxt is on top of his game. nxt also launched his own imprint nxt records that year, another platform for his own consistently quality output. several releases down the line, nxt s distinctive style layered with intricate percussion, obscure synths and ethereal pads combined with punchy snares and atmospheric vocals is marking out the producer and label as a prime source for djs and vinyl lovers. 2017 sees the launch of a second vinyl only imprint what nxt, a home for musical discoveries that end up buried deep in his own record bag. featuring both emerging talent and established artists from the uk and beyond, what nxt? all roads lead to the rave.

since our beginning, manny cuevas a.k.a. dj m-traxxx has been a big supporter of snuff trax. in return, we totally dig his amazing radio shows and podcasts. this man’s heart is beating for chicago house music and you can feel the impact on all of his productions. snuff trax is very happy to present a whole manny cuevas record: „thee jackin’ zone e.p.“ for „you’ll never know (twisted fantasy)“ manny invited the amazing dj and vocalist josh caffe. together they created a seductive tune that takes us back to the golden era of house. a truly irresistible affair. with the tracks „a matter defined (acid house)“ and „thee jackin zone“ manny captures the wild pulse of the dance floor. sincerely raw, that’s all we need.

following on the heels of releases on labels as etruria, cocoon and elevate, italian-based dast makes his debut on off recordings. the ep kicks off with raid zone , a classic and timeless piece of spacy bigroom chord techno. system failure with its unsettling lead takes things more towards the latenight realm. and juan sanchez delivers an even more stomping and peaktime interpretation of raid zone , perfect to destroy festival dancefloors.

zone records welcome a real legend in the form of cardopusher for their next ep, a five track affair that is arresting from the off. venezuelan born cardopusher is now based in barcelona and co-founded the classicworks label. his diverse and experimental sound takes him from techno to electro to acid to rave to house, all with his own singular perspective. always fusing ideas with great skill on labels like super rhythm trax, zodiac 44 and bnr, he now comes correct for zone. kicking things off is the raw and raucous ‘nothing left to believe in.’ it is a macho tune with fractured vocals, wild synths and slap funk drums all sounding industrial and tortured. then comes blast cut, a more dynamic and stripped back electro groove with a corrugated bassline and metallic synth stabs all sounding informed by the past but looking to a distant future.

direct from the heads and hearts manning la cheetah club, the well-established glaswegian cellar-dwellers kick the doors open to outer zone with an ep from copenhagen adoptee and apeiron crew stalwart, solid blake. perfectly suited to the sonic sensibilities of scotlands cultural capital (and far, far beyond), the 4 track grey-matter-rattler delves through a darker, leftfield electro vim, with serious remix duties from dancefloor deity dj stingray. primed to shake the foundations of any venue, be it basement or above.

the next release on zone is another mighty one, this time from electro and techno duo mikron with a great remix from the exaltics. mikron is a no nonsense duo who have already put out a full length this year in the form of warning score on central processing unit. as well as that cohesive opus, they have credits on this label dating back to 2012 and have the sort of high impact, toughened style that always makes a mark.

with the trust and work of isaiah tapes, «destroy the comfort zone» is the second long play record coming out by the mathematics releasee - le matin. going along with its full 12 tracks cd album version insert, this is a non-impairing dreamt and solid record composed by 3 quarters of swamp-sounding electro and water world techno, kept a long time in the dark for maturation and finally coming out. -destroy the comfort zone- brings deepness that will surely help the listener to reach new places.

following on from david morales appearance on the label earlier this year, rekids tap up shed and ryan elliott for a pair of percussive reimaginations. well known for remixes of the thompson twins, shawn christopher, clive griffin and the pet shop boys, morales red zone moniker was conceived during the def mix legends formative years at the renowned club sharing the same name. 50 weapons and monkeytowns shed adopts his head high alter ego for a remix that draws the originals vocals into the spotlight before planting thunderous kick drums beneath whilst dusty pads operate above. meanwhile, ostgut ton affiliate ryan elliott crafts a reimagination that incorporates breaky percussion, a rumbling low end and sweeping astral synths.
