this sampler, first of two, holds three tracks from the classic >spelunking< ep, which was originally released on planet e and with which he solidified his name in the scene. track a2, land of the lost dance, is an unreleased track from that era. another fine example which shows that recloose is the don of mixing funk and techno. with this compilation we celebrate reclooses early works from the late 90s, early 00s. this material is often regarded as his best. the compilation includes his best music from that period, both released and unreleased.

the fifth release contains more rare tracks from the trax catalogue. the a-side features two mixes of the little known gwendolyn track, which originally came out on precision records (named after larry shermans pressing plant) in 1984. this early vocal (house) gem was produced by vince lawrence and jessie saunders. it comes in two versions. a more straight forward original and a more dubbed out version by farley jackmaster funk. a real treat. side b features another early 80s chicago track, again by vince lawrence and jessie saunders aka z-factor featuring screaming rachel. classic chicago house tracks

just when it was getting hard to bear anymore lo-fi, dub inspired techno records - along come producers like skudge and newcomer mrsk. both from sweden and now befriended. both turn saidgenre into kick ass, peak time productions that funk like crazy.black keith definitely has thatdrive and swing and groove we love so much. close to me is a little deeper and more classy (detroit), yet still grooves like a motherlicker.. a classic techno release!

this third release in the series mostly touches on the magic of jamie principle. however, this ep opens with a sublime deep vocal track originally released on trax sub-label saber in 1991 by ace & the sandman (who are also responsible for the virgo four tracks). featured here are some of jamie principles best tracks, produced by frankie knuckles. as with many trax releases, there are lots of unreleased , reel to reel only mixes around. we came across an unreleased version of >bad boy<. the quality is not at best, but we included it nevertheless. magic stuff!

**** repress **** late nineties saw three releases of boo williams on titonton duvante run residual records. from these three eps we pulled the four best tracks, which make up this >residual ep<. four times raw, deep, melancholic, late night grooves at which boo is a master. essential house music!

the second release of >vibes - new&rare music< brings rick wilhites long time friend and fellow 3chairs producer theo parrish to the table. theo gives us an adventurous ride like only theo can. starting out on a blues tip, this track morphs into a string laden jazz affair without missing a beat. epic stuff!
on the b-side its a one-way ride to chicago with ricardo miranda blasting on the car stereo. this relative newcomer, who has recorded for hour house is your rush and vega records, really outdoes himself on >urbanism<. as we cruise into town, heading straight to lakeshore drive, this track kicks off so soulful, yet so raw! it reminds us of the best days of prescription underground, on which this easily could have been released. addictive.

we welcome chicago house veteran gene hunt to hhyr. with this great 4 track ep gene shows us he still has the touch. this ep includes three deep, yet raw tracks somewhere between jacking chicago and classic detroit. it reminds us of tracks by boo williams, glenn underground etc. special mention goes out to >i know you care<, which is a lush disco track.. elevating stuff! welcome back gene

dekmantel anthem is created late night after a legendary night at one of the dekmantel parties in amsterdam. as a homage to deep late night sets its called dekmantel anthem… easy does it. a deep late night groove, but with enough swing to last until way after the party is over...

final daniel wang release on rush hour, incl. 6 tracks not on the recent compilation. the balihu bootleg ep is the final release in the best of balihu series on rush hour. this 6 track ep holds two unreleased tracks (!) and four early works and b-sides. this ep starts with sylver belt which was included on the never released and much in demand balihu 002. not feeling it and east side hustle are early b-side balihu tracks that were not featured on the compilation. side b continues with the instrumental version of if it feels good. this deep, electronic track was taken from the vault of danny and has not been released before. shadows & unhouse are again two early danny tracks that were not on the balihu compilation. and with this limited ep we close off this wonderful project with danny. we hope to see him back one day with new music

aardvarck, boris werner, san proper and sotu the traveler deliver the goods here and do what they do best, creating a diverse set of mixes. boris delivers an even deeper mix of >lost in the streets of nyc<, which is already being played by the likes of ricardo villalobos et al. aardvarck roughens up >on the side< in his well-known cultcopy style. while san proper discofies >use me< and sotu morphs the title track into a dubstep/house hybrid. new shit!

a landmark house record to kick of this series. a very important release and produced by ron hardy - one of the most important djs at the time and instrumental in shaping the (chicago) house sound. real body music! this ep was released in 1985 and is one of the earlier trax releases (th 109). it remains one of the hardest to get and most in demand trax releases. originals go for over 100 dollars and even the late 90s repress is expensive, let alone the original limited edition white vinyl. we are happy have this available again in its full glory and remastered. first 300 copies will be white vinyl in tribute to the original

dark adaption is rondenions second ep for rush hour and we are pleased to have him back! the freestyle disco cut-up sun glare nicely sets the mood here and is a must have for detroit house lovers. blue canal shows a deeper side of rondenion. a bluesy, mid tempo groove that sticks. the title track gives way to, well, rondenions darker side.. a hypnotic and mean cut that really builds, reminds us theo parrishs rawer tracks. banging!

more chicago tracks find its way on the hhyr label. this time the talented tevo howard (of beautiful granville records fame) debuts on the label with a classic sounding track >move<. tevo blesses us with two versions of this jacking track. >move< comes as original and an even rawer acid mix. with this release tevo confirms that he is one of the most prominent chicago house producers today.
