matthew dears audion project stands proudly at the intersection between art and hedonism, realised over a decade long dedication to powerful and relevant dance music. growing out of the vibrant diy detroit underground, audion and his contemporaries were free to feed off the energy reverberating from uk and european dancefloors, but singular in their desire to create their own sound and spirit. an audion release is techno in its purest sense - whether its pushing the bombastic limits, spinning the dancefloor out of control or elegantly toying with just a few sonic elements.

since its first outing in 2004, matthew dears audion guise has predominantly acted as a darker, edgier commentary to the pop-infused house concoctions to be found under the producers birth name. a twisted reflection of sorts, it contemplated electronic music through the lens of grime-flecked techno and sinewy funk - resulting in relentless floor-fillers like the aptly named >kisses<, >just fucking< or >mouth to mouth<.

recorded in dears home studio and mixed at nicolas vernhes rare book room studios in brooklyn, beams evokes a day-lit dreamworld at once strange and familiar. while the albums dancefloor-ready tempos, major keys, and sun-warmed synths signal beams as the lighter, brighter response to its predecessor, closer inspection reveals a squirming mass of oddball details. dears latest productions on beams creak and groan like anxious organisms, with slivers of guitar, electric bass, and drum kit darting in and out among the synths and samples. beams is the latest transmission from one of pop musics most fascinating creative minds. tour dates coming in nov and dec after recently performing live in may this year in select key cities.

next up on deep vibes comes sascha dive with his killer remixes of matthew dears >little people (black city)<. originally released on spectral sound (spc 101) as a digital-only package a vinyl edition had to follow due to public demand. for maximum sound quality the 20 minute version got shortened to a 15 minute >vinyl cut< (a1), while the >dub remix< comes in its original form on the flip-side (b1). sascha dive and matthew dear met on the road a few years back. in 2008 matthew dear featured a remix by the deep vibes boss on his watergate mix-compliation. when they played together in munich in august 2010 dear asked dive, if he wanted to do a remix for his upcoming album. the only condition dear asked him for was that it had to be the wildest and most crazy remix that dive could possibly do. little people (black city) is the probably strongest song of matthew dears recently released album black city. sascha dives remixes are on heavy rotation and played by a wide range of djs. make sure you get this joint in the box!

seth troxlers panic, stop. repeat! ep brings together all facets of the young berlin-via-detroit producers notoriously brilliant/bizarre persona, offering two new tracks (and one house-y remix) of sweaty, ecstatic dance music with a dirty mind and a heart of gold. >panic, stop. repeat!< uses its titular command as a guiding principle, eroding its own immaculate facade through a series of anxious freakouts. the track rolls along like a freight train with aloose screw-designed for precision and speed, but with mechanical parts that constantly jiggle free and whiz off into the stratosphere. as a leathery kick drum and a wickedly simple two-note bassline keep the pace, >panic, stop. repeat!< takes a series of surreal detours involving an ekg machine, a ladys feverish coos, and one particularly old-school sci-fi synth. next up, troxler melds minds with matthew dear on the collaborative >hurt<, a sexy beast of a track featuring bone-dry drum machines, a huge lead tom-tom, and dears terrifyingly deep spoken-word musings. paco osunas remix of >panic, stop. repeat!< rounds out the ep with an exhilarating take on troxlers original, building a subversive house creeper around panics heavy-breathing leading lady.
