lil tony is hotter than hot. while starting to dj and produce years ago, tony has been a staple in the scandinavian club scene since the early 90s. an amazing dj (actually one of the favourites around the moodmusic hq) and a talented producer, tony started with the fbi project with roberto rodriguez and kimmo oksanen before dropping some serious damage on raw trax vol. 1 last year on moodmusic. caned by everyone from luciano (he edited his own version of semble) to dj hell, tonys raw grooves cut the crap and moved people when other producers had to take a leak. hardworking, never forgetting his gentleman manners, tony is here to stay and raw trax vol. 2 is a bold new statement, and his best work to date. solid state takes the classic detroit influenced drum machine vs piano theme a step forward, a impeccable jam of 15 minutes with the beat keeping the pace, this has been roadproofed the last 6 months to good effect. the b-side karamba is a dry, tight driven tech-workout, perfect mixtool for the deeper techno as well as housier sets. it just works well. the closing checkpoint charlie is a tale of >lost in helsinki< dark mean bass wanders around and gives space for the chuggin main line, monotonic body music at its best.
nick chaconas debut album has been a long time in the coming, the distillation of a decade of recording and producing for some of the worlds leading electronic music labels.but it has certainly been worth the wait as he teams up with the highly respected moodmusic for the release of >love in the middle<, a collection of soul soaring and inspiring cuts that blur the imposed genre lines into non existence.

taken from the pagliaccio album on moodmusic, filippo moscatello gets the remix treatment from his favourite house heads in the circuit.. quarion rocks houz into a frenzy of stabbing, jacking and deep bass for the full flavoured floor experience, indeed one of his best remixed to date and thats saying something. dirt crew hooligan and old school house head on his own, james flavour takes kleinmond on a trip to nyc about 1993 and slabs phat beats coupled with his trademark stabby keys and the one-note bassline to a late night belter. last but not least trickski shows their genuine talent in transforming houz to a peak-hour sub-120 groover, with live piano and a great chicago inspired groove that makes you yearn for more

moody moon e.p ( spagh records) spagh records is an electronic music label which concentrates its energy on techno, house and electro. created in 2005, spagh records wants to follow the way of authenticity and eclectism. after being well received by the public, the first e.p dozen lives was notably playlisted by artists such as dave clarke, laurent garnier, dj 3000 and james penninghton. the label spagh records is now releasing its second ep. in this second publication, the label shows another facet of their style angling towards deep techno. the ep, aptly titled moody moon and produced by hip-j, is a surprising and bewitching creation that draws the listener in for an aural expedition with every play, plunging to the heart of techno, weird and hazy, as melodic as it is stirring. his latest e.p has already received good feedbacks and is now being played by dj chloé (kill the dj) and toni vokado (electric avenue, kodiara records).

support comes from chloe, simon baker, rob mello, nuno dos santos. two face was featured on the recent moodmusic 10 years mix-cd by sasse, with a softbottom bass but hardhitting percussion and synthwork, this has been a secret weapon for many. lars sandberg aka funk d void loved the original so much that he promised to deliver a remix - and he did. slamming claps combined with a early strictly rhythm stabs and immense breakdowns drives this to the top. watt zone is a totla diffent beast, based on a more house feel, combining dreamy synth yet driving beats , this will be a hot one for the more discerning floors
two big techhouse bombs with influences of early detroit house mixed with modern production techniques. supported by james flavour, chloe, dave dk, alexkid, p-toile, tommy four seven to name a few
its been a productive month for the mood ii swing boys. the follow up to last months passing time, a collaboration with vocalist lauren, is a fantastically deep disco record that moves and shakes along with the best of them. the bouncy, wobbling bassline of the main mix simply demands to be grooved to, while laurens husky vocal glides along the airy pads and cheeky synth stabs. the dub foregoes the bassline of the original, opting instead for a more top heavy sound and taking the record in a pleasantly techy direction
the first mood engineering ep is now available, supported by derrick may, angel molina, funk d void, jeremy p caulfield ,joris voorn, darko esser, jackmate, michel de hey , warren fellow, alexi delano
