with summer just round the corner, hell yeah come up with some essential—and fully, officially licensed—new cuts from balearic gabba sound system edit master enzo elia. he touches up some historic italo house with his usual masterful touch and will have you yearning for boat party season before the tracks have even finished playing. if you loved the italian s take on soft house company what you need, you should go crazy for this new offering. up first is italo-piano-house classic morenas s hazme sonar, which is eight minutes of diva vocal athletics, big synths and pumping retro drums that will make you punch the air. fun and fulsome, it is a sure fire classic house winner this summer. jazzy doll s ladybird is next and in enzo s hands becomes a rubbery, ducking and diving house cut with big hand claps, bubbling bass and loose limbed percussion that is ripe for raves on the sea.

2016 starts with warm welcome on board of our next russian representative - julia govor, with her original *open possibility*, supported by kamran sadeghi and ricardo villalobos.

seth troxler lines up the next 12- on his label of cultural heritage tuskegee music. in the follow up to stellar output from butch and bas ibelleni as well as phil moffa, the martinez brothers & jesse calosso collaborating under soundview - the next in the series comes courtesy of the mighty d-knox.

burly, uk-styled rave tackle from berlin’s phon.o for tectonic after spending the last few years exploring subsets of garage-techno on 50 weapons. clearly carving towards tectonic’s ruder ‘floor criteria, he plays out the dank, shadow-boxing 2-step drums and swooping subs of mercurial next to the aggier grime slap of u8 phunk for the berlin scallies, and yokes some splintered breaks into a submerged jungle-techno chassis with bell blender.

next up on moss co. is a 3 tracker from long-time moscow records artists dan farserelli, remixed by the supremely talented tom ellis. the record opens with lemons and limes, a catchy roller that bumps and grinds its way into the soul, each revolution of the bassline giving the body a sense of fulfilment, while jazzy musical elements entertain the mind. on the flip that time is a classic piece of micro house perfect for the early hours. a sparse, but groovy bassline is complemented by catchy hooks, percussion and a creative arrangement. the tom ellis remix on the b2 completes the record with a particularly trippy, but incredibly catchy, afterhours interpretation.

next in line to work with underground imprint getme! is uk artist nicky otter, with gme012: i can t really explain (it), a two track release out on 14th march across vinyl and digital platforms. across the ep, nicky ventures between parameters of ambient electronica and big, bad club tracks. nickys outsider sound find its perfect home on london s getme! label, both artist and label undefinable by genre, shape or sound. a-side i can t really explain (it) is a straight call for the dance floor for those after sounds on a more house and garage tip. originally trained as a drummer, nickys percussive talent shines across this bassy number, complete with creeping melody and layered vocal samples for a track nodding to club edits from a nostalgic time gone by. moving into murkier territories, b-side sketch original slow is journey through the darker strains of electronica, hazy techno feels and euphoric ambient vibes. dreamy melodies and carefully mapped out drum patterns meet here, giving sketch original slow an other-worldly feel.

here comes another release by echologist aka brendon moeller. brendon did several releases over the year and here comes the next bomb!! these tracks were recorded in autumn of 2016 in brendon’s home studio that is conveniently located in the basement of his home in upstate new york. the tracks were made using a combination of hardware and software. the protocol, well, sync all machines via midi and cv and then jam. once a jam seems to take on a form he multitrack record all elements in ableton and then create a final arrangement and mix down.

the boys are gliding back onto the scene with scissor and threads first release of 2016, waiting ground. the handsome twosome of frankie skates and tony b. real deliver us four prime cuts aimed squarely at the dance floor. the vinyl-exclusive, ebreo, sees the duo flex their afro-rhythmic muscle, placing silky smooth bass over a bed of soft swirling percussion highlighted by a pitched down steel drum. next, an edit first heard on frank & tonys acclaimed resident advisor podcast comes to light. deftly cutting the hushed ambient tones of donato whartons absentia into perfect portions, frank & tony loop brittle bits over a chunky kick and shuffling hi-hat to hypnotic effect. the ep’s title track evokes the sun-kissed euphoria of early hour raves with its lush atmospherics and playfully subdued piano line buoyed by a thick kick and airy pads. finally pavane takes the previous tracks laid back attitude and flips it, adding a thick in-your-face kick and propulsive pads for a foot-stomping, hands in the affair dj weapon.

after releasing brand new material on dum034, dum records are dipping into the label boss’s production archives for the next one: it is a reissue that features tracks from a number of classic mono junk releases. two came on trope records, one in 1995 and one in 1993, and the last pair of cuts come from 1996 when they were released on plug research. arguably some of the influential finnish producer’s finest work, all of the tracks here emphasize how long he is operating on the top of his game already.

chicago based chris gray has appeared on multiple releases throughout the 90s and the new millennium. while some of his most appreciated works have been published through his own imprint deep4life, for the next pulp release, chris gets deep and melodious with some funked out synths whilst maintaining that lush deep atmosphere that has proven to be his signature mode.

dany rodriguez is on fire lately and keeps rolling as an unstoppable train. his next station is the *safari moon* with the signature of his home label rmr. dany offers a remarkable original coming up with 3 remixes by the ultimate techno legend the advent and a monumental collaboration remix by the techno heavyweights ben long & oliver way. a package that will drive the clubbers to the safari moon and back!

for its premier release, division point industries is proud to announce a 4-track ep by rolling ones, a collaborative project featuring johannes auvinen (tin man) and jordan poling (jordan). rolling ones finds its voice in the synthesis of each artist s sound, combining tin man s acidic melodies with jordan s deep, textural pads. debuting at the division point industries residency at bushwick s notorious bossa nova civic club, rolling ones marked their arrival by playing a dj back-to-back set. opening the record is 93 mustang , a muscular, no-nonsense roller built around deep wells of warm bass and slick-piston percussion. as it builds, tin man s signature acidic squelch dances in the remaining space, giving the track a sense of both life and depth. next is faded delorian , an abyssal burner that refracts its ghostly tones around a panning labyrinth of crystalline synths. on the flip is slammed cadillac , a sinewy, stripped down stomper of clattering percussion and caustic 303s. jacked up impala finishes the record as a jacking acid tool. founded by jordan poling, division point industries is a new label built on the success of a collaborative residency with cory james at brooklyn s bossa nova civic club. having hosted artists ranging from the established to the underground, division point industries has crafted a no-nonsense take on deep house and techno that is rich in history while remaining focused on the future.

as 2016 rolls through, so does fossil archive with its 4th release since its highly acclaimed beginnings in february 2015. with fossil archive’s previous release featuring as “tune of the month” on mixmag’s november 2015 techno page, this next two-part ensemble sees two very different tracks leave you with little doubt that fossil archive remains inspired to be at the forefront of all things techno.

next up on hungarian hot wax we have jakobin & peletronic bringing the austrian heat! 3 tracks of sublime quality featuring 909 driven beats merged with acidic bass lines, deep warm pads & stabs topped with soulful vocal licks. brining extra fire is oli furness with his natty weave remix of ‘don’t stop’. super spicy ep!

early support from raresh, akufen, and jan krueger, next up on sol asylum is non other than julie marghilano with her innerspace ep. taking the listener to another dimension of sound, she brings her range of musical knowledge to create a solid package with a stunning remix from fred p. starting things off on a analog journey with “innerspace” we move through an interstellar universe with detailed grooves full of percussive splatters and echoing synths that moves us into a dream like state of mind. conjuring the jazz planet in berlin with“katzbachjazz”you are immediately transported to a galaxy of sound with galloping percussion and a classic techno layout. using more 909 techno drum elements she creates a whirlwind of sound with a delicate touch. taking things a little bit deeper with “cosmic karma” she presents a heavily detailed drum structure full of violin experimentation that creates a dark atmosphere but still bringing an uplifting and joyous vibe. finishing off the package is something unique from fred p who julie asked to remix for her due to her enormous respect for him. the emotionally charged remix of“cosmic karma” shows a different side of fred p while still keeping his signature sound in tact. the remix takes us through an ever-evolving voyage through time and space.

splendor & squalour number 3 sees brame & hamo return to their rising imprint. since the boys ep lamajs secrets on dirt crew we have seen them do a string of remixes for labels such as kolor ltd, heist & their very successful remix for harry wolfman and loz goddards uncle buck on dirt crew. all these releases have kept a steady momentum going for the sligo boys in the house scene. for this ep we have a full 3 tracker consisting of all original cuts. the ep kicks off with kebab dreams which takes us on a trip to the moon with greasy drums and saucy groove. up next is the mpc workout cert city paying homage to their hometown of sligo. closing the ep we have retch wretchedness which takes a darker turn showing us the spookier side of brame & hamo while still keeping the jazzy touch. a peak time track for sure.

the next installment on aus music sees the return of a relatively new addition to the roster rob glassett aka fold. throughout previous 12inches on manmakemusic and electric minds and on his outstanding netflix & chill debut for aus last year - fold has laced together dusty house grooves built with a classic approach to sampling funk, disco and soul records. next up - his lennys jam ep starts up with a dub techno groove built with delayed and panned stabs and sharp, pacy drums. rosie lea lays out a rich and sunny groove as a playful sample filters into focus over deftly treated drum kit samples and a buoyant bass line. tracksuits and tennis shoes then follows up with a no-nonsene party jam a short funk link is set over a booming kick that closes up a nicely varied package.

mirko takes his vision to the next level, producing two tracks that defy any convention in todays often monotonous and stagnating music market: * undo* minimalistic intro leads on to a bunch of spooky vocals looped throughout the whole piece, squelchy synth melodies and percussive stabs all around, while * solaris* atmospheric, bright and ethereal pads make for a more than 12 minutes long trip of blissed out magic.

after the part iii, the part iv of habitat series focuses all the energies on the next 4 track project where matrixxman, mental resonance, benjamin mull and christian lisco are the protagonist of this highly flammable ep. dark, acid, futuristic and rough elements blend together into something incredibly harmonious.

after the debut release on do not sleep become a sure fire club hit, the ibiza party turned much loved house and tech label now has another weapon up its sleeve. the next release is from perel, is titled charles manson and features another standout remix from resident darius syrossian. perel is a berlin based dj, producer and vocalist who is quickly rising through the ranks. she has released both originals and remixes on o*rs before now, and has a robust house and techno infused sound that simply makes you want to dance. as a dj she is a regular at cool spots like farbfernseher and impresses here with what she serves up for do not sleep. the original is a chunky, no-nonsense house track with bouncy bass, subtle vocals and the sort of futuristic and soulful pads that help make it really stand out. it s a slick, well produced sound that is sure to make it into many top record bags in the coming weeks and months. the remix from darius is a subtle one that layers in some trance inducing vocals and extra breakdowns so as to really highlight the powerful effect of the drums each and every time they drop.

yoruba records is proud to open 2016 with a forward thinking ep and album teaser from yoruba fan favourite toto chiavetta. hailing from catania, sicily, his deeper influenced house sound is a hit at yoruba and we couldnt be more excited to welcome him back. this ep opens with the beatless mix of * impermanence*, the title track from his forthcoming album. tshaka campbells vocals lend unbelievable perspective to this jazzy, guitar-led chill out track, while also giving listeners some serious food for thought, an easy track to lose yourself in. up next is * take care*. influenced by the classic chicago sound, this bass line driven cut pushes the style in new directions while maintaining an absolute dance floor focus, a must-have to kick off the year. we close with * be the wind*. this techy, spaced out groove is well suited for the late night hours, its moody synth lines gently tease as you await the addition of the dance floor ready percussive combination. we hope you enjoy the forward thinking sounds of this release as much as we’ve been excited to bring them to you.

a humid 3 tracks scorcher from sirius type and mcdoo. “odd food”, originally released by dave sector through sector 1212, is fossilized next to “wow”. on the flipside, sirius type delivers a plaster shaking ko with “thankyousphere”. sirus type is a collaboration between eric douglas porter (afrikan sciences) and tom mcconnell.

next tw limited is here! after the massive feedback from -the gold in you ep- it takes a while to get a solid follow up, this time it s definitely worth the wait. this ep is all about pure house music, -who s in the house / all about- is a high quality produced ep which surely will please all the real house heads out there. don t snooze…

former co-owner of mr peabody infamous record store in chicago, exquisite music connoisseur, deep dj and fresh sounds familiar member mark grusane provides the next in the series of sf 45s. space mountain is a funk fusion monster while in fifth dimension mark shows his darker side pushing the electro/new wave envelope and even providing vocals. once again a sounds familiar winner and another demonstration of marks rich musical palette.

by all accounts, whiskey disco has matured. each release unique, but compiled meticulously to meet some of the highest standards in the edit community. wd45 continues the trajectory with 4 tracks combining equal parts soul, boogie and disco. rastanils cuts up cheesy obscurity to reveal heavy disco vibes—this edit was smashed by mcde at numerous festivals in 2015. next up, the intriguing corsican brothers reappear after a 5 year absence from whiskey disco with a sliced version of i like it, beefed up bass and space on the platters with a touch of dub. side b exemplifies the weirdness only a b-side can… albions disco chopper is a stretched and phased party jam that does not stop. move to the inside for the lengthy and epic big time, a 9 minute exploration into rocking disco roots, courtesy of the eponymously named blaxploitation movie from 1977.

the double drop label present the second of three parts from the invisible cities collective, made up of luca c & brigante plus guests. following the summers moments in between (featuring ivan smagghe remixes), in my garden finds the guys carving a sumptuous slo-mo house groove, with a rather special secret collaborator on vocal duties. the result is something lush and unique. the original is backed with a fine interpretation from the mole, and the super cool edge of our love completes the package. the new music from invisible cities doesnt stop there. next up is part 3, sunkissed with remixes from apiento and special dubs from mad professor.

next up from fuse london is the latest ep from resident rich nxt. hot on the heels of launching his own nxt records, this scorching four track platter represents his strongest and most dancefloor friendly ep to date. donkey, quixotic and longtime showcase an intricate yet effective sound, laced with powerful bass, sharp percussion, subtle synths, analogue dirt and bags of groove. all of the tracks have gained widespread support and captured ears around the globe whilst the dark, lurching flux one provides something a bit different.
