the next installment from the new beyond imprint is with us, featuring two newcomers from the thriving us underground, kapuchon & benny rodriques. the pair bring a magical detroit infused collection of warm, urgent and modern house music into our peripheral vision where its simply hard to ignore … like a well loved vintage drum machine tweaked to perfection, or a dusty old synth rejuvinated, >and again< draws inspiration from the rich synthesised landscapes of classic detroit techno, however adds a totally fresh and modern aesthetic, through its use of precise drum fills and beatifully crafted harmonies. on a more thoughful, soulful tip, >unexpected< unravells itself with smooth chord atmospheres, driving, solid-state percussion and teasing delay fx. the story might be a familar one to those who have their ears firmly pressed to the dancefloor, but for good reason, as these two fine storytellers have crafted a golden moment for the late, late hours. the acidic ride of >potato tomato<, with its pushing sub bass and glistening crescendos is perhaps the toughest cut of the e.p, and delivers the energy where its needed whilst still holding onto that classic, deep-as-dawn chicagotodetroit vibe.

long and sleepless nights were the inspiration for slaapgebrek wich means sleep deprivation in dutch. the results of these sessions are two moody & hallucinogenic tracks, wich represent a state of mind only to be experienced after many restless nights. the original mix with its freaked out shuffled drumpatterns, rave stabs and maximal modulated bassline is peaktime dancefloor fudder for any crazed techno night. frustrated bleeps and fx give it a nervous twilight zone like feel, climaxing and clashing throughout the track. the flipside takes things on a lighter, more emotion ridden tip. the rhythm is stripped down of all nastiness and the bassline friendlier and melodic. halfway through the break the violins kick in, resembling the break of dawn after another night of turning and twisting without getting any much deserved rest. perfect afterhour material.

last summer, the berlin-based producer and well-known remixer chris zippel (who already worked with the pet shop boys, robbie williams or ich & ich) already celebrated his very personal interpretation of modern and complex ambient between zwischen triphop beats and melancholic pop references by his genuine horizon album. with this ep, chillout producer zippel has chosen a way quite unusual for him by taking four tracks of the album, making them compatible for the dancefloor with a number of co-producers and proving that dub is still up-to-date in 2008. the ep starts with an interpretaton of electronic spain recordings producer mangelt: again, a straightforward energy flash between reminiscence and modern club sound, takes on the powerful post acid minimalhouse sound a la steve bug. the dane mike salta turns mirror dawn into deep techhouse dub, and also the schwerin-based downtempo producer andre muelle alias vakuum sounds shows that he is influenced by a timelessly valid unterstanding of dub and fragmented s mples by his version of glacier. finally, the tribal progressive house dub of blade remixed by kling klong impresario namito (berlin), undoubtedly the most famous remixer on this ep, goes right into your hips

for this second release the indigo raw crew proudly presents >dominus< who are dominic & mirus, two fresh and upcoming producers from barcelona. their first release tarantella ep is a three tracker that brings you directly into the deep chemistry of modern tech-house. on the a side >skin< is a driving warm up tune with deep cords and rolling grooves while >tarantella< builds up with pumping beats and fluffy pads. sian (octopus/poker flat) also delivers one of his best remixes so far adding hypnotic atmospheres and rolling baselines that makes it a perfect peak time tune for the crowds
