RELOAD (3LP)
3x12 Inch
23.11.06
the restart of the legendary evolution/universal language label! the first 3 mind blowing releases (re-mastered) and presented as a limited 3x12 package (the reload ep, the autoreload ep and the biosphere ep). mark pritchard and tom middleton released in the early 90s some highly limited records on their evolution label which later became universal language. all records were groundbreaking releases and tom and mark continued to produce many great records as reload, global communications, jedi knights, harmonic 33 and several other projects. these 3 records represent the beginning of the electronica movement which they started with like minded artist such as aphex twin, the black dog, autechre and some others. deep raw and forward thinking techno in the same style as aphex twins early releases, as one or balil. mark and tom were strongly influenced by derrick may, juan atkins, carl craig, kraftwerk, mike dunn and richie hawtin to name a few and they produced some amazing records which still are not outdated almost 15 years after their original release. among their fans of their releases is a huge list of big names who all recognized the quality of the music made by these two guys. this is a great package with all three of the ultra rare original releases together. must have

THE PATH OF MOST RESISTORS (2LP)
2x12 Inch
13.11.06
better known as volum and as one half of angry robots volsoc (his musical partnership with justin maxwell), jean-paul bondys output to date has often been categorised as electro, but not as we know it, jim. since the early 90s bondy has been bringing us his vision of a cartoon future of blips, bleeps, squeaks and tweaks, all fed through your speakers and straight into your brain by a rhythmic salvo of breakbeats, bass, and straight-up, glitched-up funk.. bondys first solo album, >the path of most resistors< marks the culmination of this effort to date, while at the same time representing a subtle departure – not just for bondy, but for compost too. make no mistake, this is a record that is grounded in the kind of solid, machine funk grooves, synthetic melodies and sci-fi atmospheres that the best electro has always brought us
do you like to dance tzatziki? can you feel the bass of kalamata olives? do you feel feta sometimes on the dancefloor? this are all questions our 2 doctors from athens can t answer you. the only answer they know is how to make the boopie shake. this is what they say. you need to proof? do it. boopie trap is a classical piece of malaka house music that will be reinterpreted by everybodys darling dario zenker from hometown munich and the so called boss popnebo himself. what else? their ghosts are also in da house. we hate to write about the music, because how do you want to say in words what the music should sound like? difficult. not really.

SYNKOPE EP
12 Inch
07.11.06
the synkope ep ushers in a new sound for mathias, one that is more full and less percussive than before yet also one that will not leave previous fans in the dark. taking his cue from his keen knowledge of the worlds dance floors, kaden translates this awareness straight on to vinyl without losing sight of todays complex sequences and sound structures. with the flood of faceless releases that threaten to sink even the most discerning record buyer theses days. there is a growing sense of urgency to make records that will remain classic and listenable even 10 years into the future. if you dont mind us saying we think this might just be one

FIZHEUER ZIEHEUER
12 Inch
31.10.06
señor villalobos is back again on playhouse so roll out the red carpet for his >fizheuer zieheuer< monster which is no longer than 37 minutes!!! of course we had to divide it into 2 parts to bring it on the vinyl, but it still is a wicked tune. its around for a while now and a special secret weapon in ricardo s sets all over the world, causing mayhem wherever he plays it! 100% pure hypnosis, this track plays with certain sounds that you would not really expect from this minimal master in the first place... but it s the way he s using these east european horns which is done so well and their integration in the beats that makes the track so exciting
FOLLOW THE CLONES
12 Inch
31.10.06
as a coproducer of jennifer cardini he could already rest on some laurels, but he still has own plans. after a lonesome 12inch on freak n chic this likeable party terrorist, not goes free of charge with paris anarchos like dj:terry: co-operates, now to the attack. sub static presents two properly psychedelic minimum racketeers as they could hardly fall out more individualistically.correctly fitted with spring beats deliver the through ball for precisely placed schizo chords and who is still responsible there, has missed the takeoff. hypnotically the sounds mill themselves by the bodies and hatch behind the diaphragm, only to press ahead at the right moment like alien out of ripley. techno, how he raves and dances. to one howls, yesyes

SOUTH SLOPE
12 Inch
25.10.06
although he keeps his head just under the radar, jon cutler is not exactly against producing really big club tracks when he puts his mind to it. south slope sees him channel his energies into the kind of show stopping tracks that the likes of kerri chandler, dennis ferrer and quentin harris are famed for, but with a deft jazzy touch which they often ignore. the ibadan style groove is bedded in with a wonderful organ solo that serves to take the tune to the next level, while the dub mix drops the organ for a more shelter friendly tool

new born label hertz records, sprung from the depths of scanian no-mans land, begins its crusade towards world domination with a release from detroit dutchman orlando voorn. the fix man genuinely delivers his best release in years, bringing the high energy funk as usual with two deadly dance floor killers. >enter< is a driving techno monster, with an old school detroit minimal groove akin to rob hoods productions on m-plant or even some of the more tame blacknation releases, updated with a modern freshness in voorns own unique style. but as this music does not translate well into words in our opinion, descriptions are useless until you hear it for yourself
CHICAGO, A WAKE UP CALL
12 Inch
18.10.06
no need to introduce mazi & david duriez one more time, even those new in the house music business should have heard of them, the real chicago – paris connection. they have developed their own labels at the same time, gourmet & brique rouge, they built their carreers at the same time but this is only the second time, and surely not the last, that they go together in the studio. first time they produced the seminal everything is allright, one of the highlights from the audio soul projects album community this time they produced one of their futur classic, while david duriez was in chicago on the way to his detroit electronic music festival gig. produced in just one afternoon, the track is already acclaimed and hammered by all the big onesjosh wink plays it everywhere. mr.c has also been reported jumping in the booth to ask david what this track was.

really impressive, strong techno music! this ep is a split in between three rising stars on the swedish techno scene. prataps contribution starts of with a wicked groove that just goes on and on. and before you know it, you are totally lost in a melody that is slowly building up. the flip from nihad tule and lasseman is on the very same tip. nihad, know from his release on hz trax will not let any body down! a really strong and groovy sound is coming your way and just keeps on building. hypnotic and very funky!
