brill deep minimal detroit techno (dub) a la hardwax / basic channel... b2 track >minus< is actually a re-release from the 1998 >ll001< single, long out of print. since there was a steady (nearly monthly) request to make this track available again, it has been remastered and included to match the other tracks on this single. the aim of this release is to prove that a certain approach to composing and sequencing with particular sound can end in a timeless production. at the end of this process it should be standing against the times, playable in 1989, 1997, 2007 or still in 2020. individual production methods or media stay behind, as the artistic vision of shaping and mastering the sound come thru. already playing on heavy rotation in berlins clubs by local djs who got whitelabels or cdrs, this 12inch will once more become a classic to people who dont look for hype or trendy fashion but lasting sound quality.

oliver huntemann already presents the 14th release on his dance electric label. but his release policy is far from being predictable or boring. with jens mahlstedt and andré winter he presents two long time dance music protagonists for the first time united under their real names. both started their careers back in the 90ies, and both delivered stunning production work, before there was ableton live and before there were software plug-ins. these 2 tracks on dance electric prove that they are still ahead of time. these dark and floor-rocking electro trenched tracks are spiced up with bits of melody and incredible arrangements. everybody fasten seat-belts – this is a hell of a comeback...

jerome sydenham and rune rk first met about 5 years ago, when jerome first played club rust in copenhagen. rune was the club resident, and the two immediately connected over the decks. even though their styles were very different, there was a mutual respect and understanding for the music. in november 2006 jerome and rune decided to go to the studio and see if these magnetic poles could be joined - and from nowhere magic happened. a new mutant of sounds and arrangements emerged. not really house, not really techno, but dirty and soulful at the same time. energetic, yet calm, these tracks are something new. they dont sound like rune rk, and they dont sound like jerome sydenham. so what do they sound like? have a listen

you might not think youre familiar with kramer, but chances are youve heard his music before. better known as larrson, the berlin-based dj/producer has released a series of acclaimed 12inchs on esteemed labels like traum schallplatten and bpitch control. he now adopts the kramer guise to deliver a 3-track ep of smart electroinfluenced and minimal house on berlins get physical. kramers first forays into music were as a singer, guitarist and songwriter, it was hearing bpitch boss ellen allien dj for the first time that inspired him to make and play electronic music. his rock/funk prehistory is subtly apparent in the eps a1, >runner<, which begins with a warm, rounded kick and busy, clicking percussion before urgent hi-hats and a hard snare sound take over and aim the tune squarely at the dancefloor. the centrepiece of the track, though, is a synth riff that summons a taste of vintage electro, while sounding purely 2007

archipel brings in two of its friends from uk, newcomer sozadams and moes ferry superstar croatian luka & lazo, for its fifth vinyl outing >tahiti excursion vol. 2< on which soz takes the a side and luka & lazo take the b side both bringing the dirty warehouse funk. soz starts things off with >broken thought< which is a thumping, sweaty late night floor mover which is sure to bend limbs in ways never witnessed before. >liars chair< is a slightly slower pusher which twists and melts along through corroded vocal snippets and dark polyrhythmic moments. luka & lazo take the same attitude of dark funk from sozs a side journey and shred it into a million pieces. >the safe< is a warmer tinged funk but still keeps things moving and grooving while >mood mode< jacks along and rips up a world of digital fabric. archipel keeps up the quality with ease and this is yet another piece of aural evidence to prove it

born in australia but moving to japan in 2000, luke le mans is the main organizer of the night >quop< in osaka which focused on bringing big international djs and contribute to create a scene in the roughest japanese city. after releasing his debut ep on trapez luke is back with this 2 tracker ontrenton. much more mature, his talent as a producer are undeniable and we hope that this will be the beginning of long series of old school but yet modern minimal material for trenton. >dark helmet< has dry beats and a funky bass line with a crazy chords pattern that has some sort of a b horror movie vibe… like a minimal techno version of a dario argentos soundtrack, dark helmet will bring you out-there! the second track called >lisa< is a bit more old school but still rules and the endless loopy bass ramp that just keeps on building up will make your legs feel a bit less heavy and your mouth a bit thirstier… slg is back on trenton, but for a remix this time. after is very first ep on our label we are proud to have him back. his version of >dark helmet< is just outstanding… pure slg style, it has it all: detroit, minimal, forward, groovy… if you are still sitting in a clubs corner after hearing that on the p.a…. means that you have serious issues with being able to feel the funk!!

matthias heilbronns >jungle dub ep< on poker flat reveals the more techy and reduced side of his musical creativity. >do it right< kicks off with a groovy and hypnotic bass-loop which paves way for cascading synth lines and a funky melody. >jungle in the city< is another tech-house dancefloor track. it keeps the mystic vibe, but adds a darker atmosphere and features loads of soundbits!

mos ferrys sublabel fenou returns after a one year break with a new limited 10 vinyl edition. the first releases realize collectors price and show a path to a universe of experimental, minimal pop. dapayks >dehalledretro< is probably known as part of his liveset. the calm and reduced, but groovy track emerged from a bunch of loops hes playing with during his performances. its a proof that shows, minimal is not always made of clean, sterile sounds and dry wood-like tones. dredl kiboshs flipside >i found you< is spinning around broken beats and intelligent grooves, beyond the klikkaklakka standards. its a link between four-to-the-floor and downtempo-breakbeat, very soulful

this is the third tuning spork blues experiment. inspired by legends like miles davis and modern day techno producers like dandy jack, andreoni is forging wacked out new house sounds, in the true spirit of jazz. this ep is no exception, and it shows why the likes of ricardo villalobos believe that signor andreoni is an amazing musician. to begin the experiment, andreoni jams you deep into space, with some seriously fucked up effects that will have you hiding under your bedclothes. sleepover is perhaps the most techno cut on this release, but the deep haze of dub still remains, over a banging percussive track. on members the melodies are perfect as you expect from signor andreoni, and here the acid line is more prominent in the mix, over deep warbling bass notes. in borderline, nothing is as it seems. melodies fall down cliffs into weird drones, and everything seems a little skewed. this completes a 4 track ep from a unique talent in the world of deep electronic house music, with 4 distinctive colourful tracks that take the genre far away from the middlebrow. make sure you check out our third tuning spork blues experiment, even if you spent most of science class using bunsen burners as water pistols
