kevin de vries delivers big room drama on his ‘aratak’ ep for afterlife recordings.
spirited synth lines, drum rolls, gripping moments of silence and weighty kick drums make the title track of de vries’ afterlife debut formidable club gear. ‘sciamachy’ is more subtle, centred around a euphoric arpeggio which spirals to its apex. konstantin sibold contributes a fine remix, toning down certain elements of ‘sciamachy’ to let others shine. it completes an ep that brims with energy and dancefloor dynamism, a hugely exciting first full record for de vries on afterlife.

12" Vinyl D21.04.17
oxias classic domino gets reworked for its ten year anniversary - in 2 vinyl parts. a decade after initially seeing the light, oxias now classic domino gets reworked to celebrate its anniversary. the new release features a new cut by oxia himself as well as several remixes by none other than frankey & sandrino, robag wruhme and matador. the ep will be released through agoria’s newly found record label sapiens on february 24th. ten years ago the track made waves in the international dance music circuit, striking up chords with techno, trance and house djs alike to quickly become an all-time classic. having never expected the track to reach the status that it his, its a very dear project to oxia and he needed quite some persuading to give in and let agoria and his team create something that was worthy of the original. the set of tracks are the first officially commissioned remixes by oxia ever. “finding remixers took some time, the amazing frankey & sandrino whos track acamar is my absolute favourite of 2015, matador that just launched his rukus label as well is the multi-talented ex label mate at kompakt robag wruhme. they are all incredibly gifted and fortunately patient enough to wait for this ep
before the explosion of the poney ep - including the hit la rock 01 - in 2001 on international deejay gigolo records, vitalic had a previous artistic life under the alias of dima. today, pascal arbez-nicolas is reactivating the dima on his own label, citizen records... also big for fans of *amphetamine* (drax ltd ii)
mathame s highly-anticipated -nothing around us- arrives on afterlife recordings. the richly talented duo mathame featured on the second realm of consciousness compilation and have since been regulars in the sets of tale of us with some sought-after, unreleased tracks. this ep is a bold statement that crystallises the well-deserved excitement around mathame.
ow finally on vinyl: artbat are bringing their first full ep release to diynamic music. the three-tracker -planeta- starts off with the title track -planeta-, a rapid-fire techno odyssey that might as well be taken from a relentless pursuit in a futuristic action movie. this is followed by the gloomy bassline of -prometheus-. heavy on percussive elements, the track is divided in half by a cascading synth-break only to return with more layers of percussions, strings and the hypnotic bassline. closing off the ep is -sand in your shoes- featuring london based artist dino lenny, who has previously worked with madonna or wu-tang clan and produced remixes for underworld, missy elliot or timbaland. the collab track is a dreamy deep-house tune and a perfectly emotive way to finish the record.
strongly limited to 500 copies
one of stephan and marc s biggest tunes ever, kerberos comes along with brand new remixes. diynamic s solomun teams up for the first time with johannes brecht and their debut convinces with driving beats, fresh sounds and a composition of synth lines which won t leave your brain anymore. on the flip side you can find two versions by andré hommen, who has been responsible for countless club weapons on labels like objektivity, poker flat and these eyes plus dublin s poster boy matador who recently delivered a master piece with his legendary remix of oxia s „domino“.
hello leif mueller on shtum. pleased to meet you. especially with such a strong debut release. everything is starting with the no-nonsense-techno track teleshop which is designed for big room pleasures. on wo ist meine playstation 4? things get a little more psychedelic without losing the straightness you need to get lost in the dance tunnel. cairo is a lesson in keeping goose bumps alive with its up and down galloping synth stabs. to cool things down, the stuttgart based producer drops nightcleaner, a quietly starting ambient affair that evolves into a little acid monster.
as connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence the team decided to make a selection of tunes through this time as a recap and as an opportunity to also turn some of the tunes into remixes.
, the remixes , including olaf stuut , tim engelhardt , stefano ritteri , reboot and moscoman will be released on vinyl alongside a brand new track from label heads stereo mc’s and the first appearance on vinyl of classic connected release ‘lust’ by tigerskin k.e.e.n.e and elli (david mayer remix). the label has been building steam over the last few years with increasing vigour and the remix release follows the label ethic with a diverse and underground feel to it plus some strong club action. included in the past releases is david mayer, re.you, nandu, florian busse, aaaron, floyd lavine, pongo amongst others...
afterlife recordings continues its focus on emerging talent with the first solo ep of aether, following his collaboration with mind against on -solaris- and a track on the realm of consciousness compilation. from the textured atmospherics, harmonies and innovative sound design, it’s clear aether has found his voice already. balanced between the powerful, emotive techno afterlife is known for and more introspective experimentation, the three tracks share a tonal richness and patient headspace, lending themselves to the dreamy hours on the dancefloor.
reinier zonneveld s filth on acid label comes ready with a first ever album only 18 months after launching. in that time it has released music from big names like carl cox, gabriel ananda, bart skils, pig&dan, emmanuel top, coyu and many more, and this standout full length comes from mees salomé. it explores melodic and immersive techno, is entitled big thoughts like elephants and has 12 tracks that really journey into many different moods and grooves and the whole thing plays out with a real sense of musicianship that leaves an indelible mark.
from the heart of macedonia comes herzel with his first ep for uncanny valley. the four tracks point him out as an expert for creating tracks on the blurred line between rave and darkness. if you are listening on a proper sound system, it is almost impossible not to be moved by the mighty drones of forms that almost feel like tectonic shifts. glide runs in similar veines and brings power to the dance floor with rolling bass synths and sublime pads. a little more straightforward is glowworms with sharp drums and an acidic synth theme only to finally merge into an elegiac climax. finally, two hits hard with slapping synths and a dubby bass line, a gripping yet somehow nasty track.
after the recent success of the release of netherworld in 2017 and the sublime remixes which accompanied it, we re delighted and excited to deliver another round of remixes from the legendary cj bolland and fellow veteran solee.

magdalena s -elementum ep- is her first full ep on diynamic music. the 3-tracker marks the beginning of a busy summer season for her. the opening track -mountains of es cubells- pays tribute to ibiza s after party culture – which occurs in private houses that open when the clubs close, out in the warm air and sunlight, and a very intimate atmosphere. the protagonist s verdict -i think tonight i see ibiza like it was 25 years ago- sums it up perfectly. -nautilus- is a dreamy melodic house cut, ethereally swerving through a sea of hypnotic percussions and brassy synth elements.
closing off the record is -radialis-, a brooding and gloomily minimalistic techno tune.

following some now cult releases on mutli culti, turbo recordings (with the much-acclaimed “mz”) and his recent lp “lotos land” on japanese imprint endless flight, our favourite east-berlin born child sascha funke is finally coming up with an ep on hippie dance’s sister label your and your hippie friends. “i guess more than one of you have noticed my obsession with sascha funke’s music over the past years since it is an essential part in my dj sets. after the pause he gave his solo work to put his attention into his amazing band project saschienne together with julienne dessagne (aka fantastic twins, also his partner in life), he came back with a really cool ep on kompakt records which i played over and over and left me wanting for more. being close friends gave me the luxury of having access to his material before other people and when i would visit the coolest couple in berlin, sascha would always play me his new tunes in the car while rolling through the city. every time i would ask for those tracks to play them and in the club, people that i would play with would often ask who was behind them, as it happened with tiga one night in cologne, and eventually led to sascha’s music being released on turbo recordings and multi culti the following months. now i finally got the chance and honour to release a sascha funke ep on our own humble label... acatenango. like every time, it all started with me visiting berlin, sascha playing his new material while cruising around on board of his german car, me getting in trance while listening to it, asking for it and playing it right away in my next sets. three super cool tracks, all very different from each other but somehow connected with the inimitable funke touch. powerful yet elegant, hypnotic yet fun, brutal yet sophisticated. sascha funke... he’s a hippie and he’s a friend.” rebolledo

born in poland and now operating out of the ever-effervescent london, the adoptive city where she’s learnt the ropes of music production and djing, anii – real name ania iwinska – has lived many lives in one. yet if one thing’s remained a constant over the years, no matter the harshness of the obstacles life threw at her, it’s indeed a deep and inextinguishable love for music, be it behind the mixing desk at wired studios or in her own shoreditch workroom, the key place where she’s kept honing her skills with unfazed diligence, up to the point of making it her actual second home. ań,,,,,,ii lands her debut transmission on kompakt and surely not the last. named after the polish word for ‘roots’, ‘korzenie’ finds ania threading her way in between subtle deep-house and techno folds, delving into the essential strength of her past and present to carve out an hypnotic maelstrom of traditional polish music strings, tribal percussions and elegiac melodies. coupling eerie ostinatos with stealthy bass moves, it’s an ode to the magnitude of memory and power of resilience that reels out, blurring the line between late night club environment and further spacious, moony soundscapes.

over his twenty year the hacker has traversed a spread of styles, from frosted electro to raging techno slammers. -midnight bliss- shows another side of this multitalented artist. warmth flows from the title piece. clean rhythm patterns are spiked by synthlines as liquid melodies are swirled into a carefree cocktail that simply radiates. -heavy duty disco- takes over the flip and runs headlong into speakers. the hacker builds a track of generous proportions. textured keys weave through columns of toms and snapping beats before bruising basslines descend for a late night encounter of formidable intent. without doubt, a future classic from a classic creator.
-mind against take the next step in their artistic development. discovering the techno side of things is a fresh breeze for their oeuvre and perfectly fits into the label’s policy… may the force be with you! - kristian

man power his raw electronic sound, organic flourishes and diverse selection make him a perfect match for dgtl, both on stage as well as on the imprint. next to releasing a steady flow of records on established labels like esp institute, optimo trax, correspondant and hivern discs, man power is running his own shop as well: me me me. this gives him an outlet to release music by both friends and himself. for his release on dgtl records he created a three-track ep called apologue ep, that showcases just two of different sides of his multi-faceted musical scope. the a-side features two firm, acid influenced tracks. the first of these two, the duelist, is an emotive house record, with a soundscape of piano melodies, synths and syncopated percussion laid on top of an acid bassline. el mago del tiempo features heavy hitting kicks combined with a sharp synth pattern. it has a long build up that keeps evolving throughout the entire composition. halfway through, the track breaks in to a raw and fierce rhythm accompanied by yearning, drawn-out synth pads. on the flipside, put your hands on the car (and get ready to die) brings back memories of a long gone past with nods to balearic pop, ebm, and the soundtrack work of stewart copeland, james horner, and jan hammer. this multi layered production has a warm and analogue sounding feel to it that rounds off a 3 dimensional release.
