icicle is a heavyweight and one of the leading figures within the electronic music scene

after a ten year long career releasing music with many different labels icicle has taken the logical next step and started his own imprint, entitled entropy music. the name derived from his second album ‘entropy’ still aims to inspire the concept that music behaves as all things do in nature and degrades, falls apart and becomes more chaotic with time. in an effort to confront this, entropy music strives to bring controlled, rolling, technically detailed music, without ever overstepping that line when the process becomes inhuman and cold. on this second release on entropy music icicle teams up with kindred spirit and cousin proxima to deliver a four track collaborative ep. the opening track which also welcomes ben verse to the label, is rolling tech funk pur sang. the weighty and detailed yet simple breathing groove make it a track true to the entropy ethos and ben complements this with his trademark lyrics reminiscent of renegade hardware shows past. on the a2. icicle brings a near wooden stepper with a viscous turbulent low-end, a firm wink to the past, with dust me off. icicle’s track is expertly offset by proxima’s solo offering retrace a peak into futurism boasting an evolved playful groove which takes on board equal measures of jump up and 90’s tech. the ep is rounded up by the title track deep dreaming, where icicle and proxima collaborate once more to bring a slight curve-ball. pianos ring in an eerie musical intro to a dark but sultry track where the energy is second to the atmosphere.

icicle’s intentions are high as he returns with four brand new inventions that yet again rip up the rule book in favour of pushing the envelope that much further. travelling from vocally enhanced highs to machine laden low-ends throughout, the ‘differentia ep’ will leave the audience in awe.

deranged disco metal? gonzo noise-punk firebrands? genre munching mega racket? chaotic noise-hop? here are a band who namecheck motley crue, rick james, pharell williams, slick rick and slayer as well as an increasingly long list of future star bands like need new bodies and sex positions. at 25 (rory atwell) and 19 (sam mehran and devonte hynes) they listen to everything: metal, grime, hardcore, rock, hip hop, pop. its all in there. and boy, can you tell. test icicles sound like bloc party on drugs and in detention. or a parallel universe rancid wired into the touretting energy of early beastie boys. or, indeed, an amalgam of almost everyone you can think of - ever. their newly-recorded album >for screening purposes only< is a screaming, thrashing pedal-to-the-metal hardcore pop freak-out. first single boa vs python was met with astonishing aplomb, the anthemic second single circle square triangle (which contains the fm-heading chorus >we could do with some more poison< repeated over and over again until the listener explodes into pogo mania) will certainly light the fires of many more. whether they sound like snotty skatepunk tykes (whats your damage), the spikey grandsons of the stooges (snowball) or the uk brethren of pantera (catch it!) their debut album is a breathless, exhuberant testament to youths joie de vivre.

steppin up, steppin in its shogun audios very own mr. freeze with what is undoubtedly his biggest, sickest release to date. the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album >under the ice<, its been smashing kingdom come out of clubs throughout the land of late and now shogun are finally ready to unleash it to the world. get ready for the sound of the drone, the >dreadnaught<.

first released back in 2008 and now re-released as limited vinyl repress. crunch delves deep into the dutch underground to showcase some of eindhovens established and upcoming talents side by side. icicle, martyn, proxima, nymfo & mindmapper lend their signature sounds to help craft an album of deep, futuristic rollers, whilst erosie, also from eindhoven, created the stunning artwork. a great representation of the scene in eindhoven, holland, and crunchÊs musical mantra. mc verse is currently the frontman of the world famous rock/drum n bass band pendulum, and also on mic duties for pendulum dj sets alongside el hornet. this gave him the idea to involve some of the artists that he really feels are shining at the moment and would represent his label to the fullest.

icicle goes dubstep, deep and moody dubstep.>xylophobia< on the a-side has been cutting up the more discerning clubs for quite some time with its enormous low-slung bass line thatll punch straight through any club system with ease to floor all those within dancing distance. on the flipside we find the younger brother of >minimal funk<, the d&b track realeased to riotous applause on the first shogun evolution ep earlier in the year. >minimal dub< is the lower frequency alter ego with the familiar bongo patterns accompanied by a new nasty gut-wrenching version of the original bassline for the dubstep generation.
