tokyo tag-team kei and nagi sugano, aka dazzle drums, have been responsible for secret weapons in the bags of some of the finest djs since their debut in 2005. in addition to supporting danny krivit each time he plays in tokyo, the duo periodically floats him exclusive edits to test out during his expansive sets. two of these in particular have become regular features on m. k s dance floors, and it is these prime choices that have been selected for the latest release on most excellent unlimited. -brothers gonna work it out- takes the cinematic soul classic and toughens it up with a propulsive drum track and immaculate editing to extend and energize the already powerful tune. -get down boy- is a relentlessly driving disco cut whose dramatic synth-and-string heavy instrumentation provides a plush bed for seductive female vocals before giving way to a tremendous bass break that is certain to leave dancers in a sweat. reverently mastered and spread over a wide-grooved 12-inch single, it s another meu sure-shot.

dazzle drums is japanese dj/producer duo consisted of nagi and kei sugano. you can find their name on bpm king street / nite grooves / tony records / gentric music(uk) and they run their own label green parrot recording. the first release on the label supported by joe claussell, danny krivitt, tony humphries, tim sweeney, dj emma etc.

by now dazzle drums and nite grooves are old friends. this being their 5th release on the label, the beat goes on and carries us with it. gypsyman turns out an organic bent out of shape (we didnt say warped!), percussive, almost dubby, instrumental delight. this is one of the definite moods one would hear at say, the shelter. its got that kind of clubby rhythmic organic vibe. call it what you will, we call it hot. tokyo deep that follows is a more upbeat instrumental full of synth moog sounds and overflowing washes. very car chase or early 80s stalk you cinema, catch the drama while you can!

supported by djs like punks jump up (kitsuné), munk (gomma), radioclit (uk) after releasing hyped 7inch singles with klaxons and kleerup ft. robyn risky dazzle is very proud to announce the release of this harlem bomb. harlem is a stockholm duo that consists of johan skugge and martin thomasson, they have previously released records on gramme and service and have been championed by tiga among others. this techno acid anthem is one of the most defining dancefloor 12inch singles of the moment. genre destroying, fierce and rocking, >cat scratch< is a pumped up 303 stomper with a demented acid line that hauntingly stalks the listener as the relentless beat is built up and broken down. much in the same way as mmms >donna< did in the late 90s, >cat scratch< takes back dance music to its raw, dirty basics. on the flip side, >kidney shot< pushes the noisy whereabouts of the a-side one step further. technoid and funky, it is bound to set the dancefloor in motion

recently landing on the nite grooves shores from japan, this most recent double a side is the third great electronic endeavor to be issued. the first, nami is a tripped out loungey mover where synth stabs dominate throughout. a deep faded bassline is added and together with a classic house hi hat makes for a well rounded instrumental. aso is a mellow non invasive, non vocal perfect for the side chill room jazzy piano riffs, violin strings, light clavs & bubbly bass line all make a nice sauce

sun side- incredible tune laying snippets from deep disco classic >sun sun sun< by jackie over a classic nu groove style arrangement. no vocals here people, just a chunky drum being jabbed at by the occasional rainforest keys and long drawn out strings to smooth things out. inner view- an introspective fell on the housier vibe. lovely late night cool down record infused with classic jazz high piano keys solo and bassline chords. tip

we are proud to announce the first release on the shop’s new label house of love vinyl with a strong ep by long time friend of the shop modaji. side a kicks off with the sizzling ‘razzle dazzle disco’ gyrating the house grooves alongside vocal demands that provide a nostalgic setting with a modern thinking twist. ‘times change’ is a thriller killer for sure with it’s metro area like hooks. on the flip there’s more of the same with “i wanna go dancing, i want to go have some fun” as the main hook for ‘lisa at the party,’ whilst transforming us back to strobelights and dry ice filled dancefloors. ‘headwork’ closes the ep off with a straight up jacking swinging groove supplemented with swirling pads and sharp stabs. this is one ep not to be missed.

‘dazzle ship’ comes from the mysterious moniker of donald dust, switching the script for no bad days into something more cosmic, with five skyward songs of variety and velocity. think italo tinged burners, the greatest 80s sci-fi soundtracks that never were, and beatless drift with a synth bought off demdike stare to close.
